| Definitely the weakest arc so far. Foxy and his crew were pretty annoying. Whilst there were some good moments, overall I'm really glad this whole Davy Back Fight thing is over. |
| I'm glad this arc is over. I didn't enjoy it that much, but it had its good parts, though. Honestly, I was more interested in Grandpa's story rather than the games, so I was pretty disappointed when the story shifted mostly to the games. |

| OH MY GOD THEY WON! THEY WON! THAT MEANS NO MORE DAVY BACK FIGHT GAMES! Finally good riddance! Seriously as I've said before this arc has not impressed me throughout. The initial 3 rounds? Fine I could've lived with it being that for the whole arc but again Foxy had to be a sore loser and just wants ANOTHER 3 ROUNDS of this crap. Holy crap, this was just unbearable but come on how is this one bad now? We just came from Skypiea as well as G8 for crying out loud. Just what the hell happened here? As for the episode itself? Well the ending was OK. It was on the rushed side but eh it's OK. I did laugh when Luffy immediately after he got his 400+ crew members from Foxy just told them all they were dismissed. XD That was one of the better moments of this arc, honestly Tonjit having a grandson doesn't really surprise me, I'm glad he got reunited with him I guess but it's literally the final episode I got next to nothing on his grandson and little to no screen time was spent on him. I mean poor Tonjit, he really felt like an interesting character. He was quirky and a little strange, yes, but he had his nomad culture going on for him as well as his long necked horse. Hell I was really expecting to see his fellow nomads show up at some point but nope aside from one mention of his tribe to Luffy and Usopp when they first meet him, the nomads are never mentioned again or even expanded upon at all for the rest of this arc. And for the majority Tonjit is just sidelined anyway because of Foxy just taking center stage and is completely forgotten about UNTIL Luffy takes back Shelly in round 2 of the first Davy Back Fight. And again Tonjit was the ONLY new character I remotely care about and would call him close to likable here. I honestly would've wanted to see a whole arc about Tonjit and his tribe then having to deal with Foxy and his obnoxious one note crew anyway. This arc just wasted my time, nothing was gained here, it didn't in any way feel like it was advancing the plot and the Davy Back Fight while interesting in concept just wasn't all that great. No matter what round it was, no matter what was happening, it was literally the same thing over and over again and it got repetitive real fast, leaving me feeling a mixture of frustrated and bored throughout the whole proceedings. It never got better at all and the only thing that was probably holding up was the odd occasional moment from the Straw Hats and Afro Luffy being a thing. But those things are not enough to save the arc from being exhausting, annoying and just downright terrible in my eyes anyway. Thank god I don't have to put up with this arc anymore is all I can say with my closing thoughts anyway. At the very least Water 7 won't be that far away for me now after these filler episodes but good god Foxy won't be missed at all. Once again, good riddance. |
