@TheColonel76 It's cool I understand, Look at it this way compare Kotono and then compare Arata, Kotono so far her romance has been portrayed as very pure and wholesome, she bravely declares her love to Arata in front of the girls and even says she wants to marry him. Plus all the other moments.

Then take Arata majority of the times with his Sisters he just looks at them lewdly. Like he was just blatantly checking out Banri that one episode. Like I get he's a dude but come on a guy wouldn't be like that so much.

Im not opposed to like Lewd moments in shows or anything hell one of my favourite anime is literally borderline a H anime. But idk for the oldest sibling I was expecting it to be portrayed in a way a little more purely.

In short the kind of romance I wanted from this show is what's shown through Kotono.

In the first place this show has a ton of flaws and so much potential, Like how they just blatantly waste Shion and Yuu as characters.

But yeah thats generally how I see it, I don't hate Arata he's just really weird sometimes. But he has good moments as well.
@Techno_Siren652 Ah I see, thanks for the explanation, I really get where you’re coming from now. I guess for me, with the premise of the show being what it is, I expected some down bad moments between brother and sisters so it’s like I’m getting what I came for lol, but now I do understand why one would see those scenes as weird or cringe. I’m also with you on Shion and Yuu, I imagine they become relevant eventually but I’m betting it won’t be this season if we ever get another, Shion has just kinda existed for most of this one lol.

This episode had a sort of magical feeling to it, maybe because of the setting of Mount Fuji with it's mist and the focus on soulmates and destiny.

It seems like Ouka's trying to find her soul mate the same way her parents did...and it seems like she may have succeeded at the end...

It will be interesting to see what happens in next weeks episode and if Ouka will be true to her feelings?

Also it was funny seeing Sehia being an actual older sister :}

Nah...

Ouka literally risked her own life just to see if she'd "receive" a sign from destiny?...

I really don't know what to say. I understand she's a teenager, but there's no need to exaggerate. Even Arata said it. They're too old to play that game, lol.

Anyway, it looks like the next episode will be the upswing in Ouka's development (and possibly her entry into the romance section of the anime?), which looks like it'll be very interesting.

Beyond that, I liked it.

That was by far the most boring episode so far. Her reasons for leaving were stupid and now he'll carry her down Mount Fuji just like his dad did with his mom. So far, so predictable.

Can someone explain what they meant by “stations” on the mountain in this episode when the characters were climbing? I have some ideas, but I’d prefer to hear it from someone who actually has the answer.

@StarcraftSquall I watched the anime Yama No Susume(https://myanimelist.net/anime/14355/Yama_no_Susume?q=yama%20no&cat=anime) Really great anime about climbing.

They explain that Mount Fuji is divided in stations, each station is a checkpoint with some sort of facility for you to rest, eat, and sleep. There's many stations until you reach the summit, 10 stations total. So you climb, get to a station, rest, and continue onwards. If you can't climb everything, even 2 stations is already an accomplishment.

What a masterpiece episode. That "stripping and almost nude" scene was the cherry on the cake.

fun episode, but ouka dropped the biggest L, almost getting herself killed, worrying everyone and overall being dumb lol

I swear the anime is making things a lot more coherent than they are in the manga and that's great!

Ouka fans are eating good with this episode, and I wonder will the other sisters get the same treatment with only 3 episodes left?

@Techno_Siren652 I agree with you. Believe it or not, Arata's "Kazuya Syndrome" or as I like to call it, is toned down a lot in the anime. His manga counterpart is very similar to Kazuya you won't believe they're from different series.

On Arata's defense, the girls are proactively seducing him, notably Banri and Seiha. I don't have a sister so I won't know what it feels like growing up with one, but a boy his age is very active sexually.

@Yuu_Kanzaki Fair play to Banri and Seiha well Seiha's was more indirect but Banri's was just blatantly doing it but like with the rest take Minami or Ouka they had no indication of that yet he still goes back to these weird moments with his sisters. Which is really annoying since majority of them are very pure when it comes to romance. Particularly Kotono and Ouka

And I mean while I don't doubt this situation don't happen irl im 100% certain there are situations like this whether they are blood related or not let me tell you its very rare.

I've been growing up with a brother and Sister and none of us have been in this kind of situation. Again it definitely does happen irl but I suppose this show just exaggerates it a lot which is a common theme in anime

Just watched the episodes, and I kinda want to reply some of the comments here :D
As someone who climbs Fuji every year, I kinda want to clear up some confusion regarding that mountain
since I've also mentioned this on other manga forums when this manga chapter came out (mine from 2023)

It's really doable to climb Fuji alone, really. There are many ~12yo kids also climbing there.
The trails are very easy and clear, no fog unless you climb it during the typhoon like me last year.
And during the climbing season, there is no way Fuji will be that empty.
And after 7th station or so, there is almost no vegetation, so the possibility of getting lost is very, very small.
So rest assured. Do climb it if you can. It's very fun.

Uh... not really, haha :D.
The stations are checkpoints, but they're just landmark. There are facilities/rest area, but they're not free, you need to book and pay if you want to rest inside.
There are few benches outside you can sit for free, and that's basically it.
There are a few rest areas and vending machines where you can buy ramen and hot drinks, but not all of them.

haha, well yeah
but can you really recommend anything to anyone who's already in "that mental state", tho ?

But you're right
I've faced that kinda situation before.
My buddy was brokenhearted, and suddenly mentioned he panned to climb a mountain the next day
(a mountain which is more deadly and dangerous than Fuji)
My friend and I were there at that time, and we didn't stop him.
Instead we're like "alright, cool. We're going with you"

can't really stop him.
else he'll just do it another day when we don't know

Yea, talking about things at home or going on a local walk not climbing a mountain in the fog. We get it, you hike, still not a good move.

Ouka's disappearance after the long weekend, unlike Minami's, triggers the entire Shiunji family out of worry since she's considered a runaway kid at this point, not ever knowing what happened to her. Thankfully, Banri had her location fixed on GPS, but to find her hiking on Mt. Fuji instead, it's quite the shock for Arata to take measures himself and keep himself updated back home, which he eventually finds her at the mountain shack, much to everyone's relief.

Still, spending the night after the awkward gaming session together, Arata simply wants to know what's on Ouka's mind, which she references their parents climbing Mt. Fuji and finding love there, as if it's meant to be fate that she can find her soulmate there too. But once morning arises, her note could not be any more obvious that she's telling a lie, prompting Arata to continue climbing onto the summit in heavy fog to find her. And if anything, Mt. Fuji is not an ideal place to play tag, which Ouka finds herself being lost, to then tumble from a cliff resulting in an injured leg.

The earrings, which they were from Kaname's wife and passed onto Ouka, the hope that she would find her soulmate there is quickly wearing off...
...not to mention that Arata found her in the nick of time...?

Ouka episode/arc where she goes to Mt. Fuji to try to find answers to her own problems and see her deceased mother again. Of course they send Arata to bring her back which makes him the parallel to their parents love story. When Ouka is stranded and hurt, it's Arata that goes out and finds her off the trail, there's no way a girl would not fall in love in that scenario.

Wow, what a dreadful episode! The first third of the episode was full of horrendous dialogue, either because it felt so disjointed and out of place or because her stupid family is more worried about her reputation than her. And Arata was bitching about how she's inconveniencing everyone around her; who gives a crap, people should live their lives for themselves, not to please others!

And then the parts with Ouka were just as incomprehensible and daft. She makes stupid decision after stupid decision, both in dealing with Arata coming to fetch her and on the hiking trail. She wanders around in a daze in the mist, then finally notices that nobody is around. And once she notices that there's not a single person near her, she immediately screams for help, despite concluding just a couple of seconds ago that there's nobody around. And then she manages to trip on nothing and somehow falls sideways off a small cliff?

Oh, and also, why is Arata unbelievably dense when he's surprised that Ouka seems to imply that she's in love with him. It should be obvious to him by now that at least a couple of the sisters are somewhat interested in him, so why should it be surprising that Ouka has feelings, too?

And then when she drops the earring on the ground, it's covered in some weird and physically impossible mist, but just for 3 or 4 inches above the ground, so she can't see her hands but her arms are clearly visible?

This episode was so bad and confusing in so many odd and unnecessary ways. I'm not going to drop this show, but I sure hope next episode is at least mediocre or I might not be able to bring myself to finish this show. I've really enjoyed most of the rest of the show, so this absolute trainwreck was baffling; I hope it's an anomaly that doesn't recur

Wow look at all the parallels, Arata is going to end up even carrying Ouka down the mountain just like their parents did, isn't he? It's gotta be Ouka now for sure, with all the "destined soulmates" and all, it's just so blatantly obvious that it would be weird if Arata's future wife was anyone else. Orrrrr it's all just some cheap red herring to make you think that way, before it does end up being someone else with a good old fashioned "hah, gotcha there!" moment. Which, I really hope does not end up being the case.

And yeah for all this to happen, Ouka did have to be a bit dumb. Sure her judgement was clouded (like Mount Fuji) and she was not thinking straight, but I feel like even she would be smarter than getting lost like that. Nonetheless, we're probably gonna get a super romantic moment in the next episode, something that will probably top the hug Arata gave Minami. It'll be cheesy, but idc. Give me all the cheese.
