| I have found that a surprising amount of manga is more enjoyable while listening to some darker songs. I remember listening to Sleep by Godspeed You Black Emperor while reading Ai-Ren, and it was really quite nice. I was unable to listen to music while reading Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, though. It demanded silence. |

| When I'm reading at my PC I usually listen to the music in my current playlist. But while reading on my sofa or bed I prefer some music which fits to the atmosphere of the manga. That means mostly instrumetal soundtracks from anime or other asian movies. |

| It depends on what I'm reading, for most series I can just turn the music volume down and be fine. But for my favorite series and those that just demand my attention I prefer silence. |

| I'm still pretty happy with my recent discovery of how good almost everything by Tsutomu Nihei (Blame!, Biomega) goes with Dark Ambient and Dark Industrial music on the background -- it like deepens the already awesome atmosphere of his dark post-apocalyptic worlds. |

| When reading I prefer listening to something that has no vocals because they can be distracting when you read (especially if they sing in your language) so I prefer to listen ambient/neofolk/abstract and similar because it's not so distracting, also classical is very enjoyable when reading. |
