Then I was just at reddit searching for news about second season and then came across a post and the hate on 86 in comments was unbearable. People were just hating it , comparing it to AOT. It gives a bit of a vibe of Aot but still both are completely different. It made me question if I was the only one who liked it that much. What are can be the major reason for that hate or are they just just toxic ?

Stick to the 86 sub Reddit. I haven’t used that sub in a min but it was pretty chill.

i haved loved 86 since I first watched it, and recommend it to everyone i meet who wants an anime recco, some people are just blind to good anime.
p.s. why does nobody i know, know this anime and 2 i always thought it was more underground but its way more popular world wide than i thought even tho its rare that anyone talks about it even on YouTube

If you think this is a masterpiece, you should get a few hundreds of private lessons on how to watch or read something critically. This is nowhere near to be a masterpiece. Not even close!

Easily a masterpiece and one of the best animes that came out in recent years.

It however managed to attract in a lot of pseudo intellectuals/haters and they were very loud. Usually they were the minority.
