@LuxuriousHeart Literally what is blatant about me being respectful even to subhumans who directly insult me in this thread? I am going above and beyond in the respect department and still disrespectoids can't help but push me ever closer to causing a hate and/or sexually motivated mass casualty incident.
@kutuya Calling them subhumans isn't respectful at all.
@kutuya Calling them subhumans isn't respectful at all.
@LuxuriousHeart Well am I wrong? Are you suggesting it would be more respectful to lie and say that redditoids are people when you and I both know that isn't true?
Rudues is a god compared to other mcs age cucks can't handle his taste when not only is it a anime literal drawings but set in a fantasy world where he's the same age as the kid.
I've looked to make a real anime waifu,
Too spin my world around like a typhoon,
Why do people keep calling me a raccoon,
Maybe because I keep stealing anime girls hearts like gru steals the moon.
" they cannot grasp the essence of anime." Man people love to spew bullshit and flaunt their narcissism. The only essence of anime or game or movie or music is the bring enjoyment tho who ever watch or listen and every one do it their way be it casual or hard core.
I just say ignore does idiots who call them self hard core anime fan the only thing they are hardcore at is being narcissistic assholes. That will die alone which they deserve fucking useless human trash. They think they are some fucking experts on anime they are not even Japense and think they know anything about their Culture just because they read some bullshit on the internet.
If you enjoy anime/games Causally keep doing it and don´t let some dead beat worthless asshole tel you how to enjoy your life.
I get that woke or homophobia or whatever are big problems but I just cant help myself but feel blissful at the thought that I live in a timeline where Abkhazia is free of Georgian wannabe imperialists <3
Isekai are literally the latest zoomers slops, dunno how people are acting like liking them is some kind of hardcore anime fans thing.
@Jin_uzuki Ohh and you think your that what genre is the only thing worth it ?? You think your the king of what typ anime people should and not should enjoy. You may hate Isekai but your opinion is just a piss in the water. Let people enjoy what they like and you can keep enjoying what you like.
But I guess narcissistic twat´s knows what´s the best. I will never understand people need to piss on what others enjoy but hey if that´s the only way for you to get your dick of keep at it.

@SwordBreaker36 i am the king of the types of anime people should and should not enjoy. my claim is incontestable as i am in possession of the Holy Crown of Hungary. isekai is bad
@fbjim Nah. Most people spouting tourist are the alt-right peeps who like fanservice, and they see Liberals as getting rid of that. Plus, most of them are usually racist and hate brown skin tones.
Though I do agree that a lot of the tourists are those who fit what you and I have described. They're grifters.
@LuxuriousHeart I'm sure you believe that people fighting against localizers are "alt-right". I hope you're aware that Adolf Hitler himself said that Japan had only thrived due to "aryan influence", so Hitler would probably support these localizers, including Katrina Leonoudakis, Jamie Marchi, and 4kids. The truth is that both the left-wing fandom and the right-wing fandom support censoring things that offend them.
how the hell are people still mad about 4kids. localizing stuff that specifically has to air on US kids television is a much different ballgame than regular translation, and frankly they did a good job under the circumstances. also it's been like 25 freaking years, good lord
that said, i do support testing that post, and inventing a time machine so we can go back in time and ask Adolf Hitler what he thinks about the dub of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX
Fuck grockles. They're the ones sanitizing anime, pushing for them to be made 'safe' and toothless. Let anime be weird ffs
'hurr durr lolis', 'hurr durr incest'
Tourists have already ruined enough fanbases I'm in with their constant pontification. They can't have anime.
I don't even consider myself an "anime veteran", since I started watching in 2018 if I remember well, but since then I watched everything that grabbed my attention.
Talking about anime in real life was never a pleasant experience for me. Whenever I know a person who says they like anime, it's always Demon Slayer (yeah they say it in the English name), Chainsaw Man or Sword Art Online. Sometimes Hunter x Hunter and Naruto. They don't even know about airing anime or any of the 500.000 isekais out there, so there's no way I can get something interesting or new in a conversation like this. If the so-called anime tourists get some hate it's totally understandable because they don't even have 10 anime in their mind.
Imagine how boring this world would be without Japan - a comment at youtube
This is just imature at this point. This so called "anime veterans" cannot handle the truth of people having different opinion than them, that's why they call them "anime tourists".
Every anime fan whom likes to watch anime they watch without forcing themselves in to something they does not like and respect history of animation medium from Japan are anime fans for me.
It's probably true that many newcomers can't seem to handle shows like Mushoku Tensei, but Rudeus is also hated by quite a few "veterans"
@Zarutaku That's so true, the fact that these "veterans" call new people "tourists" yet they themselves cannot handle mushoku tensei and also spreading then misinformation and making up things that do not exist surrounding this anime such as "Rudeus is pdf", "it was supposed to be redemption story so where is this redemption story" alongside other things.

AcD4c said: x Hunter and Naruto. They don't even know about airing anime or any of the 500.000 isekais out there,
The majority of those shows are trash though? Plus two can play it that game, the vast majority of people who I have encountered whining about tourists, rarely watch actually niche or older media. Anime fans would be better of not caring about anime like that, and spending their time actually exploring the medium, especially if they want to posture themselves as the "real anime fans". Personally, I don't see why anyone should care. The casual anime fan's taste is pretty boring however, to me the average anime fan's taste is boring too, so whatever.
@dibindibi I myself rarely use the local names of animes, I even get angry when I see the localized names in magazines that are "supposedly" about animes, the last example being a facebook post I saw a couple of days ago of a magazine naming akage no anne with the italian name. Which is total and utter BS IMHO. I was tempted to write a comment with the correct japanese name, but I desisted.
If you're still whining about Rudy being a pdf after so many years... You ain't no anime tourist no more, you just morphed into an anime nagger. A person who likes nagging about anime and telling others why they aswell should join your eternal nagwagon stuck in a pathetic loop leading nowhere.
Kingdom Come Deliverance II GOTY 2025
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is another worthy GOTY contender I tip my fedora to Sandfall Interactive, excellent debut gentlemen!
If digital buying isn't owning, then piracy isn't stealing
Haven't seen Mushoku Tensei (not because of ~the problematique~ but because it's isekai) but I think anime tourists get too much hate, broadly speaking
That being said, I'm sure this probably get necro'd because of that shitty TheAnimeMen video and... don't get me started on that one, they do deserve the hate they got for that video (unless they got death threats or smth but we're assuming it's just mean comments here).
The people who throw "tourist" at anyone who does anything remotely tourist-esque would likely balk if more people of color were added in or if they added more BL/GL content, the call is coming from inside the house.
I didn't read all the previous responses but I noticed someone asking for ecchi to be added into mainstream anime and idk about that person specifically but I know there are quite a few people would balk if they swung into fujo pandering and had Megumi Fushiguro or Byakuya Kuchiki or whoever macking on a boy on-screen.
For my part, I don't mind if there is sexual content, just do it well. No problem with Mawaru Penguindrum, Flowers of Evil, or even something like Watanare having
sexual assault scenes
because they're using it for more than cheap pandering.
Somebody also earlier said "what's the point of characters breathing/eating" in response to somebody asking why ecchi HAD to be shoved into the story and I agree!
You should consider the point of everything you're putting into your anime and do it deliberately. Just as pointless scenes of them eating dinner would be considered shitty filler, I submit the same should be true of just random shitty beach episodes.
Scenes of characters breathing or having dinner CAN have impact but you need to know why you're including these scenes and what you're trying to say with them.
Fanservice for fanservice's sake does nothing but please gooners. And in an ecchi/hentai series? Sure, fine, do whatever you want. If you wanna have a scat, razor blade, and peanut butter gangbang with your alien octopus, sure, go for it.
But if the purpose of your work isn't to titillate then I ask you why you need fanservice? That answer CAN be good but it can also be "just for the cheap pop".
Fanservice is something that can be done well or poorly just like every aspect of an anime from the cinematography to the script to the voice acting, etc, etc.
(I also propose that mixing "human sexuality" into anime more broadly leads to less uwu pure waifus and more characters like DarliFra Ichigo but that's a whole different conversation)
EDIT: That being said, I do support artists' rights to make whatever they want (unless it's actually, actively harming someone).
If you want to make a low-tier shitty harem isekai that is half goonerslop, go ahead.
If you want to make an interracial BL that deals with homophobia, racism, and transphobia, go ahead.
Everything I said above this isn't me being "pro-censorship", it's me asking for more effort and consideration and thought being put into whatever you make and whatever you consume.
The reason why the word tourist is thrown is the reason why even visiting overseas tourists look down on those who ask for forks at a ramen stall or expect prostitutes to look like geisha.
Moreover, anime tourists are hated because they refuse to fix their own nation's problems but look at other nation's and try to make that their "new nation".
Can't say I've read a substantial amount of the replies in this thread at all, and from what I've seen this topic can get pretty heated. So if you're reading this then take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, since I'm not very tapped into the discourse. But it seems like a lot of the frustration comes from "normies" getting into anime. And I mean, I get it to some degree. A lot of people were teased growing up for being into anime, me included, so the fact that the same people who might have thrown those insults around back in the day are now fans can be a bit annoying. But I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. It's actually kind of cool to be able to relate to people you might have nothing else in common with than liking a few of the same anime. And more popularity in general means more resources will be put towards producing better anime. Yes, they probably can't be considered serious fans or anything, but who gives a shit? It's just a moment in the cultural zeitgeist.
The biggest problem with tourists is when they come into your hobby and demand changes to stuff that has been like it has for decades. If they simply just ignored things they dislike (stuff like loli's or fanservice) it would be fine, but one look online with someone who has a One Piece or JJK profile pic will show often how heated they get over the stuff they dislike.
Tourists ruin and change stuff like magic and DnD. Not a stretch to believe they won't do the same with anime.
