Ain't no way Yanami lost weight LMAO

Wow the drama, really emotional for this episode.
Now i understand why Komari ED was "feel my soul".
Small details changed in the ED: Komari precious SMILE.

This really feel like a season finale episode, but we have one episode left.
Idk if it was true or not but i read on Twitter the next episode is going to be an original episode from the Author Tabiki Amamori.

Super boring. Komari should perish, become a shut-in or transfer schools. Can we get more screen time for hot, pink haired girl?

2/10 show at this point

NGL, this is my anime of the season (exclude sequels). Peak writing and story telling. The character development in this show is insane and most of the characters are beautifully written. Not to mention the quality of the visuals were movie leveled quality. I'm soo glad a romance anime is finally getting in my favorite seasonal list since Kaguya sama. Hope we get season 2

So much drama over something as trivial as becoming a club president.. I liked Komari at first but her outbursts this episode would not be tolerated irl lmao.

Entertaining episode though, much better than the festival arc.
@Harvestor IKR^^;
Who throws water bottle on the face of someone who is literally trying to help? and in front of many people even....

...what a drama queen.

If I were Komari I would thank him and give him cake or something instead of humiliating him like that.

Not a terrible episode but not their strongest in my opinion

One more thing it is amusing reading the comments on people hating Komari (I know she has a weak character i but she can be a bit fun at other times)

This episode felt utterly unnecessary. Komari's best trait (to me) was that despite her very evident anxiety, she could really take care of herself and get things done. Out of all the "losing heroines", she was the only one who had it in her to confess to her crush, and she was the one who handled the rejection in the most mature way. In fact, her biggest flaw seemed to be that she was so fixated on proving herself that she did not let her friends help her out, which was solved wonderfully in the last episode.

Sadly, this episode basically spits on all of that. Komari's trying very hard (again), and is making progress but Nukumizu, perhaps with the best intentions, tries to make her give up. And amazingly, he ultimately succeeds, becoming the president instead of Komari, who, apparently, would be better suited to just writing stuff holed up in the clubroom. On one hand, he's obviously better at speaking in front of people, so if that's the primary capability a president needs, he's certainly more qualified for the job. On the other hand, this goes squarely against Komari's best qualities and relegates her back to the sea of "adorable but useless" moeblob characters who are a dime a dozen in anime and manga. Am I supposed to feel happy about this...? What a crying shame. :(

I don’t think Komari’s anxiety can be cured by leaving her around a herd of sheep lol. Moreover, I can feel it’s equally frustrating when she’s trying to do her best(according to her, at least) and still people like the busybody our main guy is, trying to give the unneeded help. I mean we know, you’re worried about her but hey ain’t this her arc? Still if someone does realize they fucked up then I think that’s good going for the time being. Also, I must say Nukumizu’s sister is severely underrated…

… that girl deserves MORE than a couple of minutes she gets in every episode or two. Also man, I really want to say something which I always think is excessively exaggerated in anime, and that is the stuff around the student council. THESE PEOPLE WEREN’T IN A BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING RIGHT.. OF A MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY??? They’re in school so why not just be normal and let people like Komari breathe and take time with things they’re not comfortable with? Won’t justify whatever she did with the dude but still lol.

Glad the drama that started with some sudden outburst got concluded here only, in a hilarious way too, if I say. Should’ve liked though if Komari continued being the prez, I mean THAT was the point.

Poor Komari, she's too afraid to be alone, it's understandable especially with the third year leaving but now she has her new friend in the club... and it turns out Kazuhiko is the new club president now that he said that to cover her back during the clubs meeting...

@Softhenic03 As much of a busybody as Nukumizu is, I do think him interfering was the right call here. Komari rather clearly stated that she didn't really want the responsibility of being President, she just thought that everyone else would move on from the Lit Club so she would be the only one left to do it.

Another great episode focused on the character development of Komari, the best of all the girls. I loved how Komari realized her limitations, despite all her efforts to reach the same level as her former superiors. Her struggles with socializing have kept her from succeeding in many areas of her life, and while it's understandable that she wants to overcome her fears, the truth is that she doesn't want to be alone. That's why she goes above and beyond, even with her limitations. Now she realizes that she's not alone. She has Nukumizu, who takes on the responsibility as the new club president, along with Anna and Lemon; even Shikiya supported her during her speech.

I think that's a good thing. Nukumizu is the best suited for the position. He's reliable and proved himself capable when Komari got sick. Plus, he's a great friend. While anime often focuses on romantic relationships, friendships, especially Nukumizu's bond with everyone, tend to get overlooked. He genuinely helps everyone and is so committed that it even affects him emotionally at times; That's what a true friend is. Nukumizu is a very solid character.

From what I've seen, this is the last episode of the Komari arc, and the remaining episodes will be filler. Still, this has been a great anime and I hope they make another season.

too many mixed feelings here, but i think nukkun being president is for the best. glad to see komari finally opening to nukumizu, her doubts and insegurities, and it was so wholesome to see the reaction of lemon and anna, promising her to always be there. it's true that friendships are not forever but seeing this group here tells me that they'll remember each other even if the years pass and they're not together.

I love how the show got that despite Komari's social anxiety, her unease around other people, and trouble connecting with them, she still doesn't want to be alone and she still wants to be around friends that won't leave her. I just find that so incredibly relatable 😅.

The knowledge that eventually the friendships you make in high school or college might not all last and some people you will simply never see again. It's painful. And honestly it hits really close to home since that's exactly what happened with me and covid.

But the message at the ending of the episode is surprisingly thoughtful. How it's true that the friendships you make may eventually flee at some point in the future, it's not something to be seen as sad. There's something to remember and learn from every friendship you make. I just love that. This is my favorite episode of the show, if not the season.

I think this episode takes some emotional maturity to fully grasp the nuances of the drama. A lot of younger kids flamed this episode saying it was anticlimactic and poor development kind of missed the entire point.

Komari's Senpai's in the Literature Club were worried about her because they knew how much the Literature Club meant to her, because prior to Nukumizu's engagement in the club it was just them 3. Komari took it as they entrusted the club to her because there's no telling where everyone else will be in the near future given the dynamics of the club, when in reality they just knew how much the Club meant to her so they would assume if it'd be anyone to take the role as President it'd be the person who's the most passionate about the Club. So in her head she was burdening the responsibility of keeping the Club alive because she's the least likely person to actually stop club activities, which is why she was so adamant on taking the role even when she was clearly not fit for the position. The writing in this series is very realistic, and they did a good job in portraying how things don't always go well even if you put your best foot forward. Komari's anxiety isn't something that can be overcame through brute force and forcing yourself to be outside of your comfort zone and in a lot of cases it will have the opposite effect.

@Mr_Popepo I think most people understand what this episode is doing. But the problem is that this episode is happening now, after everything that's happened in the last few episodes.

I agree with your interpretation of what happened this episode, and I think it's good drama. But we also saw her hang out with the others, get close to Nukumizu, take on the cultural festival and successfully lead the exhibit, receive and appreciate the help from so many friends, somewhat resolve her feelings for her senpais, etc. By the end of the last episode, it felt like she's grown a ton.

It was only after I went back to re-watch last episode's final conversation that I realized that they haven't directly addressed her "abandonment" issue and her social anxiety. But it kind of felt like we did, with everything that's happened, you know..? I don't think I'm the only one in this thread who felt Komari's arc was mostly concluded.

Also: people can understand what Komari is going through but still get annoyed by her attitude and her actions... I personally wasn't too bothered, but she was acting really stubborn, whiny and just plain rude (not saying Nukumizu is blameless, but still).

@perseii She doesn't have abandonment issues, that just her misinterpretation of the entire situation. She never had friends and she only started interacting with students at the Lit Club. At the beginning it was just her and her Senpai's, Nukumizu and his friends didn't seem like long term members in her mind because originally he never attended any club activities and the two girls joined only when he started attending.

We already discussed her anxiety, the writers decided to take a realistic approach on her social anxiety. It's not something that can simply be mediated with a single character arc, and it may never even be resolved and will remain a core aspect of her character, which is okay as well.

Animation has dramatic camera shake's and hair flowing in the wind- weebs "THIS IS PEAK BRO!"
It had an original concept but the story sucked.Looked like yanami used the mc as that "one funny friend" to forget trauma and despite having the most screen time among the 3 had the least character devel
