Though we had a break in Summer 2024, the "I reincarnate as the villainess from my favorite otome" theme is back. We'll see how this one manages to differentiate itself. Each of the previous ones had its own approach and were pretty enjoyable. Guessing the rose theme will come into play. Of course, the thing I noticed most in this first episode was the Prince being into little girls.

@TheColonel76 Hmm I guess not. In my head it was Villainess Level 99, but looks like that was way back in Winter. Whoops. Has been a number of them with this general theme, and felt like there was a new one every season for awhile.

@TheColonel76 I mean, the last episode of 99 aired a whole half year ago... It's perfectly normal to forget an identical show in half a year.

@Love_And_Forward I mean, most aku-jou (villainess) isekais are like these two. It's also not really fair to call it a clone of Villaness Lv99, since the later is also a clone from many similar titles that came before it. The 1st aku-jou isekai titles I ever read are either BakaRina or Koushaku Reijo no Tashinami, both of which predates the two titles mentioned by far. Even so, I highly expect the two titles not being the first aku-jou isekai as well. That's just how long the idea of aku-jou isekai titles has been going around.

The catch with this one is that Ali actually wants to be an aku-jou, but then again, it's also not original as well, since there are titles before it already implement the ideas of isekai female MC wanted to be the villainess before (i.e. the Albert family one, forgot the full title).

So yeah, nothing abt this title (or any similar titles) is anything original. But, as long as the studio adapt it well, Ali is actually charming enough to be interesting. Sadly, since I already saw wolves in the OP, I highly expect the adaptation to be rushed, and much content from the original sources being cut out.

Oh yeah, i remember reading this and dropped because well she wanted to become a greatest villainess but the thing is she's doing the opposite. I don't hate her but, i just stopped since i feel like it damages my brain cells by trying to figure out how her brain works.

Is there a way to hide spoilers?

It's generic and bit bland, and bit worrying. Just right.

@Fuyudesuwa Yeah if that's the case then I probably won't enjoy the show. Unrealistic story logic or forced events on these "villainess" caricatures is a pet peeve of mine. It breaks my immersion, like why can't the author just fully commit to writing something villainous. Instead we get this creepy Duke Seeker romance.

Another one of those otome villainess anime. Alicia makes her debut in this and it follows a trend similar to other otome villainess shows.

She's mostly protrayed as a kid in this episode but seems to be a hardworking person. I find the episode kinda cute in the way it's set up so far. There's also some story lore with locations in their world.

She says she wants to be a "villainess," but she seems to miss what that actually means. A villainess is usually someone who causes trouble for the heroine and fights for the attention of the male leads. It’s nice she looks up to characters like Alicia and wants to be the "greatest villainess," but she doesn’t get what being a villainess is about.

Really strange how she can be smart and clueless at the same time. She’s really annoying, but I can’t hate her because she doesn’t seem like a bad person. I just wish she’d stop being so focused on the whole "villainess" thing and just try to live a good life. Though with the likes of the king and the type of shit he asks of her, which might I add, one thing I don’t get is why the king would ask an 8-year-old that kind of question. It makes no sense.

There’s potential here, but if it turns into "I’m the villainess by doing good things I think are bad," it’ll just be another typical otome isekai. I hope it doesn’t.

@Fuyudesuwa Well, I mean, Ali is basically Cid Kagenou, but instead chuuni abt being Batman, she's chuuni-ing abt being a villainess. But deep down she's actually a good girl. But yeah, she's no villainess at all, and much closer to be a saintess than the saintess herself. wwwwww

Can't really put a finger on why, but this doesn't feel like it will live up to similar shows I've enjoyed (Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy, The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs, Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss But I'm Not the Demon Lord, Apothecary Diaries, Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent, etc).

We'll see if it gets better.

@amf85 This is as generic as you can get. Still better than Villainess Lv99, but worse than LastTame. Villainess Lv99 is mostly comedy, but like LastTame, this title is more on the serious side.

I assume "Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy" would refer to Loop-7. If that was the case, all of the isekai title you've mentioned are not even comparable to that. Moreover, loop-7 is not even an isekai to boot. Seijo Maryoku Banou (Saint's Magic Power) is an entirely different type of isekai and wasn't even a villainess title. And Kusuriya (Apot. Diaries) is also not an isekai nor even a fantasy ( minor spoiler: It does not have magic or fantasy element. Maybe VERY-VERY minor supernaturals, as in only a one time minor appearance a ghost that never appears again in future stories ), and an entirely different genre incomparable to the other titles mentioned.

What I'm trying to say is, don't keep your hopes up abt this title. It's generic. Tho, still better than Villainess Lv99. If that was your lowest std, than you might still be able to enjoy this. Although, it also heavily depends on how the studio tries to adapt it.

So is this literally a clone of Villainess Level 99? ... as well as untold numbers of other shows?
