It's not so much as the role of the SCP, but what being elected means to the characters. Both Alya and Yuki want to prove themselves, so this relatively prestigious position is an opportunity for them to do so. I would compare it to the competitiveness in sports.

I could be totally wrong about this, but if a character is talking to you normally, and suddenly they switch to a language you don't understand, then the natural reaction is to direct your attention to the person speaking in the foreign language and look at them. I think this was Alya's intention of saying it in Russian. Kuze slipped up, but the convenience of the situation makes it so that 'looking up' was coincidentally the correct response even if he didn't understand her.

@Quadruple_Oi To add to that: the election is 1) a way to explore ambitions of Masachika and Yuki, 2) a reason for Alya to work closely with Masachika, and 3) character development for Alya from doing everything alone to working in a group.

the election was lame, masachika's suddenly acting like a cringe version of ayanokoji, but alya thinks he's so cool. generous cus fan service 6/10

@Cosplay_Joe And also, why does 95% of shows have a duration of 22-24 minutes (especially 23min)? They could literally add a few more minutes (which only a select few studios have the balls to do, like Shaft who are solely devoted to the Monogatari Series. White Fox for Re:Zero is another fine specimen) to cover more content from the source material. This would also drastically eliminate the percentage of cut content.

@aurora_yuuki Well tell that to the TV networks which have the broadcast rights to the anime which would stand to lose quite a bit of ad revenue by doing so. Yeah, I wish they would do that, but like in America, they are way too concerned with bring in money to do something like that. Though actually, it doesn't seem like it's as bad as it is in America (case in point: usually only one commercial break during shows rather than a few.)

First 2 episodes were pretty nice and easy 8/10

Then, unfortunately this turned out to be a mid anime in general, specially after second half with the prez election trope.

Don't take me wrong, I don't mean I disliked the other characters, but the only reason I kept watching the whole stuff was because of Yuki, she single-handed this anime in my opinion.

I will give a chance to the 2nd season, also because of Yuki xD But hoping I will enjoy more the anime in general compared to this 1st season.

Boring, underwhelming, insanely overrated, and only one "close to wincest" scene... Wanted more Yuki x Kuze time, but was disappointed.

@Scootboi LOL. Bro forgot that Yuki isn't one of the main leads. The storyline of Roshidere centers around Alya and Masachika. Masha too.


There will be even less of Yuki in S2, and she'll undergo a major change in S3. Alya, Masha and Nonoa stans will be eating good, though. As well as one more character yet to be introduced to the anime.

Season finale. Alya managed to overcome her nerves to address the closing student's meeting. Kuze's strategy worked and Yuki has to concede defeat this time round. Kuze wants to meet Alya over the summer break to prepare for the election which Alya readily agree.

Why do I get vibes of Ayanokoji from Kuze in this series especially when Kuze strategies for the election?

Because bro is the nerfed version of Ayanokoji in the LN. S2 finna be so peak.

@aurora_yuuki just by comparison and some of the expression from Kuze kinda has elements of Ayanakoji. Plus its election so another similarity there.
