Maids have always chased princes. The only thing they haven't been chasing are the blatant arseholes. Becoming a prince's favourite, his concubine, is the path to success. You can also become the mother of a bastard. That means child support for the rest of its life. The bastards of non-crown princes were often taken to serve as guards, pages, maids, servants, and were often given minor titles and positions. In short, being inbred into the royal family was a good thing. Even just being a prince's mistress is good. Doing dishes and cleaning is not the same as making out with a sweetheart prince. Why do they fall for him? Because noble ladies fall for older and more promising ones, or the question of their marriage has been settled and the spouse/bride is against the buffoonery. |
| If this show didn't sexualize Lloyd then it would've been a solid 9. But they did. A lot. Hopefully that would change in the sequel. 7 |

| Unfortunately this finale was probably the weakest episode of this Guisarme arc imo, but it was a banger arc overall, and the final episode itself was a good way to wrap the season up so I can’t complain too much lol. Guisarme was a true blue asshole and had the power to back it up, but made for such a good villain to match up against Lloyd, THIS is how you do a villain in a power fantasy Isekai story, I’m looking at you Tensura! Of course the moment Lloyd figured out the teleport ability, it got a bit less exciting since Guisarme couldn’t really fight back after that, but at the same the beatdown was satisfying, and funnily enough, the fact that it became less exciting is kinda the point lol, even Lloyd himself started getting bored once the tricks were revealed. And it’s unfortunate that in the end Jade couldn’t be saved, but the flashbacks gave him quite a bit of screen time despite being controlled by a demon when he was physically present, so I’d say he got his time in the spotlight. And man ngl I’m not sure how I feel about the assassins guild being the way they are but they kill for a living, it’s like hey these guys are misunderstood and actually great people, but they actually did do terrible things lol, but I guess the idea is that they had no choice but to choose that way of life being blighted and all, so I guess it’s not a big deal, I’m at least happy that this means we’ll be getting more Ren and Talia. And yeah I’m willing to bet that bath scene has an uncensored version on the Bluray, the steam seemed a bit too thick there, but I don’t have access to that rn sadly so I guess I gotta imagine what those delicious baps looked like, not like we haven’t pretty much seen them in full already lol. And that was the “dummy thicc femboy shota wrecks scrubs with magic” anime, what a mouthful that is lol. Man this would have really been hell of a show to catch weekly back in Spring 2024, but like I say about all shows I miss out on, I simply can’t watch everything and this just happened to be one I skipped out on, but I got to it now and wow what a banger it was, truly a cut above the usual seasonal Isekai anime. It had fantastic production, damn near Immoral Guild tier fanservice without the ecchi, pretty solid comedy, great waifus, and last but not least, a fun and unique MC that’s like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual. It’s just unfortunate that despite Lloyd being a great MC, he’s also the most problematic thing about this show thanks to his design. Now personally, I don’t have a big problem with it, I think it adds to the wildness of this show and I respect the balls to design a character like that, but at the same time I understand why many don’t like it and I can’t really blame them. But hey, bottom line is anime is weird, and it’s a part of why I love anime so much, so if this filtered some folks out early on and they didn’t make it this far, then so be it, may anime continue to be weird and filter normies out lol. The OP and ED of this show were also very nice, two catchy and fun songs with fun visuals, hopefully Season 2 can hold a candle to these. And with that, I guess I now await Season 2 this summer, I guess the good thing about waiting this long to watch this show is that I don’t have to wait much for the sequel lol, summer is loaded as is and didn’t really need another show added to it but I very much look forward to more of Lloyd and the gang kicking ass! Oh, and also, Tao is my best girl lol, I love the funny pink breathing girl. |

| Honestly I'm very surprised on how much I enjoyed watching this anime. I always was aware of it because of the MC being really cute and the THICC thighs meme, but I initially passed it up because I figured it was going to be a run of the mill anime with a slightly twist of the MC being a shota instead of Kirito Clone Number 568 However after giving it a go and finishing it now, I can say it was an incredibly high quality anime. Not only with its production value, but it's ability to seamlessly incorporate comedy and serious aspects without feeling disconnected. VERY few anime are able to do this, the only ones prior being Gintama and One Piece. As it can take you out of the scene entirely and ruin it. However just like how Gintama and One Piece do it, the comedy here is introduced and incorporated in a way that feels like its MEANT to be in one package. Seeing a serious scene then showing a goofy chibi sprite saying something funny feels genuinely natural, where in 99% of other anime it would be whiplash and stupid. ALL of the characters are so loveable and full of charm. Even the minor ones, stand out as being enjoyable to watch. I also love the fanservice that was sprinkled through the anime, as I believe it's one of the unique draw ins that ONLY the Japanese can do. It just showcases that the anime knows what it wants to be, and has FUN with it. Granted I do wish we had more of it, but I'll take any at this point since Ecchi has been on the decline over the past 4 or so years THIS is what makes anime special, THIS is what the industry should continue to strive to be like ( not literally the same, but the inherent passion and drive that lead to its creation). Anime like Solo leveling and other action anime similar to its nature, are remarkably hollow as it's all style and no substance, while 7th prince has that same style AND has all of the foundation layers that constitutes a good fucking show. I watched Solo level not too long ago, and I honestly couldn't remember a single scene. It's a show that will be forgotten with time, while shows like this will live on in memory, for many years to come. A solid 8/10 for me, and I'm DEFINITELY watching Season 2 on a weekly basis. !  |
