Whoever wrote Van character is so dumb. This is so upsetting and it totally ruined the second season.
Yeah the mc was trying to teach Van a lesson, of course he going more twisted way after he got beaten by Ruri. Nothing he is doing is what a hero is doing.

 I know a screenshot was posted before, but Van actually lost two teeth not just one shown in the other screenshot, and I'm not going to hide something this glorious behind a spoiler tag. As somebody else said, Ruti's punch may be the most satisfying punch I've ever experienced in an anime, my eyes watered and I got the chills from it, it was just that intense. They should have killed Van, but I guess they don't know exactly everything he's said and done like the audience does. I already knew the defeat and near death experience wasn't going to change Van for the better, he's so far gone with his delusion of "he's absolutely right" that nothing will convince him otherwise. Even if Lord Demis showed up and told him he was wrong, I'm pretty sure he would do some sort of serious mental gymnastics to say he was right, and that Lord Demis was not only wrong, but needs to repent or be replaced. Van is that hopeless of a cause to fix, I can't see how he can be redeemed at this point, it wouldn't be believable. When it was revealed the shield had mind control powers, I knew something very very bad was going to go down, and it did. It was good that Yarandrala was there to stop him, but she totally shouldn't had shielded him from the dragon's attacks, just let the dragons beat his ass. What's worse is even after shielding him from the dragon's attack, Van still went at Yarandrala right away with a kill shot. That punk is all kinds of despicable. As for his party members, the Cardinal seems the least worse of the three now. It doesn't even look like he's the mastermind manipulating Van, it looks like the Cardinal is just going to follow Van, and let him do whatever he wants, despite knowing he's wrong. That freaking Fairy needs to be squashed like a bug. I don't think she's manipulating Van either, but it looks like she's a suck up follower who's enabling him. I think the reason why Theodora's guidance isn't having an affect on Van is because the stupid Fairy is the one Van has chosen to listen to. That piece of crap Fairy prevented Theodora from acting, and threaten Tisse with death. |
| bro... this anime took a nosedive specially because of this new hero, but dude.... that was one of the most satisfying punches I haver even seen in my anime career and I am not joking. This season is way weaker and less enjoyable compared to the 1st and is currently 5/10 or 6/10 at best for me, but.........that scene/punche alone is 11/10 |

| Yess Ruti way to go, she could've done even more and finished that hero ♥ It's like Van has only these certain sentences that he just repeats all over again, so embarrassing lmao. "My role, divine blessing, as a hero" etc like stfu🤡🤣 these was so little amount of main characters in this episode :( |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |
