| well as expected they did do a great job adapting the battle stuff but boy this episode getting back to the feel good format was even sweeter in anime form knowing it was coming. judging by how nicely they did with the past few episodes, very high expectations for the remainder of this arc |

| Frieren let that man cook. Learning the meaning of iterative improvement to existing user experience. Frieren is having a positive reflection in her journey to discover the most important pieces of software. Those that do the littlest of things. Those that cook. |

| That gag of Fern having that attitude when things don't go her way has gotten old real fast. You can't pull that shit off in one episode ffs. |

| Fern accuses him of being rumpled. She punches him for drinking juice during the night. I am unfamiliar with the culture in which this is improper. Shoe. She feels the magic she casts them without knowing what they are. Time is a mysterious thing, especially in this story. It’s interesting getting to see the characters interact throughout the town and outside of the trial. This is a rare version of the boring parts in between the action that isn’t causing the momentum to significantly slow down. She was up at night morning the flavors of yesterday. Time is strong taste is stronger. Apparently, this is what they all say. Fern judges him for having a little bit of food on his face while he is eating. The food is no less than divine, it has her striding with upturned pride. They spend all of their money on the meal. Despite the fact that we just learned they do not have any money. This next conflict is because she didn’t do the shopping. And it isn’t because they don’t have money. Ah, of course, what genius story writing, she has secret savings. Problem solved. Freeren is somehow unaware that she is the only reason that her team passed. Allegedly she is a pacifist. 3 |

| Amazing show. There wasn't much action but it was still as good as the episodes that do. I really love reflecting on life with Frieren and pouty Fern is so loveable. |
| A nice episode for some chill downtime before getting into the next exam, and a great way to see some interactions between all the candidates. It's nice to have so many new characters and to have them all pretty well-fleshed out, characters we can look forward to seeing again when the continue on their journey. |

| A nice, more lighthearted episode. Frieren visiting and old restaurant was a nice moment. I really like seeing the flashbacks of when Frieren was with the heroes and its always nice seeing what Himmel has to say, and him want the flavours carried into the future was a nice moment. Stark and Fern she have different tastes when it comes to food. Fern likes sweets and Stark likes savory. Seeing Denken visit the restaurant was nice i really like his character and it was nice of him to bring his friends along. I really like richter aswell him helping out that old lady was kind of him. Grumpy Fern she was cute and i really like her pouty face. Stark being taken away by Wirbel was funng, i really like Wirbel and i really hope he passes the exam. Though not everyone will pass there are plenty of people who i want to but dont think will, Wirbel being at the top of that list. |

| Pretty chill episode after the first exam, nothing too exciting happened. Übel trying to seduce that dude or something and Denken is actually pretty cool. |
| With how battle focused the last few eps have been, having it slow down like this was great, really sets it up well for it to pick back up again. Getting to see the group back together was nice, although it looks like it won't be for long. Stark seems to have been enjoying his time alone, but now it seems like he may be getting dragged around by Wirbel. They're definitely making it seem like this next test is going to be a tough one, so looking forward to how different it will be from this last one. |

| THE PARTY IS ALL TOGETHER ONCE AGAIN! I have missed a Frieren episode like this one honestly, this was one of the episodes that was more like Frieren really is about, and it was great, especially after 4 episodes that we didn't have that. First of all, we finally got to see Stark again, after that little part at the end of the last episode. The way Fern caught him sleeping until the evening, and scolded him, and asked him about his wrongdoings, and Stark just confessed everything that he did (horrible things like staying up late, and drinking juice at night), really suitable to the way he seems like he's a child. And then Fern started attacking him rightfuly. And when Frieren thought she was off the hook, Fern also gets mad at her, because Frieren also slept until late. It's honestly so funny how Fern just seems like a mother in the group for both of them. And also how the 2 of them are afraid of Fern when she's mad xD Frieren calling Stark to help her out when Fern was mad at her the next day, and Stark was like "But I'm afraid of her too" xDD I loved this episode because we got to more a lot more about the other characters that are also taking the exam, and we got to see them in a more chill environment. I'm honestly loving Denken's character more and more! Him treating the female mage like his grandaughter was wholesome! Also, the way Stark was like "wait, this is appearing to be a only girls outing, maybe I'm a bit extra here" and immediately after the other mage we saw at the competition appears, and Fern was like "Go ahead, take him" was super funny, Fern doesn't hold back with Stark xD Also, Stark got himself a new friend, that's nice, really enjoyed how he praised Stark's fighting abillities. I'm particularly curious about Ubel, her character is intriguing, and people are always talking about her, so there must be something to it. Anyways, this episode has to be one of the best of the anime so far, especially because it's filling a new arc with what it was lacking, that was these more relaxing, wholesome Frieren style episodes, and what makes it even more special is exactly the fact this episode comes after 5 episodes that were a bit more tense and didn't have that spark. This new arc is doing a good job at changing the pace of the anime, but these episodes are also needed! I hope we get to see at least 1 more episode like this until the end of this 2nd cour. Also, the examiner made it seem like the next exam is not going to involve combat, but rather something that maybe used more the intelect of each magician over his pure power, and it seems like that might be it, because the title of the next episode hints at the next exam being a labyrinth. Either way, I suppose next episode we're back at the exam, and no more Stark for a more couple episodes, which is always a shame. Anyway, loved the episode, really excited for the next one, especially because I've grown more attached to the other mages too now! Edit: Forgot to mention how at the restaurant Frieren suggested to Stark the meal that Himmel had when Frieren was with her former party 80 years prior. This might show how Frieren noticed Himmel's choices and believes he has good taste, but I like to think that Frieren might have thought that Stark might like what Himmel likes, since he's a great and kind warrior like Himmel was, and in this way, Stark reminds Frieren of Himmel a bit. Also, when that old man was with Stark while he was training, and said "I taught you everything I know" and leaves, and then Frieren asks who he was, and Stark was "I don't know, never seen him before" was just way to funny xD Stark really does attracks weird people xD |

| EYEROLL... So a weakness of the past several episodes with this tournament shows itself as the show doesn't know what to do with Stark. Since the tournament was between TEAMS of mages, it was unclear why they couldn't have given him a role, even as some observer on the outside or something. But here he is, sleeping in bed. Door knock- man has to put on boots to talk to the door. She literally asked him if he had been sleeping, but it seemed like it was morning? The characters in this... ugh. the green haired chick is one of these with the horizontal eyelashes that keep her with a perpetual smug expression. But aside from the possibility of her being possibly in love with that Virbo guy, she has nothing likable about her. The blond guy with glasses pretty much breaks the fourth wall in any case, telling us what we already know. My sentiments exactly dude. Entire episode felt like another interlude, and that would be fine if 90% of this ENTIRE SHOW didn't feel like an interlude! I wonder if they will have the heart to make some of these new characters it has created at the 11th hour to fail their mage exam? I also wonder how many episodes I'll have to suffer through to find out.... |

| The constrast of the Frieren we saw in the first episode and this one, she truly changed. She really is enjoying moments and people. Himmel would feel proud. Love these "chill" episodes. This series is such a vibe. |

| The next test has been revealed and apparently, it will be brutal. Hoping that old man passes tho. I've gotten used to him and I'd like him to succeed. Also the ice girl and the water girl. Poor Stark though he's been alone for a while. |

| I liked this episode! Felt very wholesome and Fern her character was great like always XD, definitely curious how the second test will go for them. Everyone seems ready for it at least! |
