| I am big on rating things I watch. I was looking for something like an IMDb for anime and the first site that came up on the google search was MAL. But there was some kind of problem with the site back then, it wasn't taking new users for some reason. Maybe a technical issue. I don't clearly remember. So I opened an Anime-Planet account instead. I love both of the sites. |

| From Crunchyroll, back when they had a forum. I had an old account here that I lost. Recently came back to MAL after spending time on Anilist. |
| It's been so long I don't actually remember haha. Probably just searching up some anime online and finding the series in the MAL database, then eventually making an account to keep track. Back in the day MAL was pretty much the only English source of information I think, there wasn't Alilist and all those other sites. |

| That's a good question... I was too young to remember the specifics but I think it was as simple as me needing a site to keep track of how much anime I was watching so I googled something along the lines of "anime list site" and made an account. |
