Most of the characters are one-dimensional. For example, Misaka only cares about Eren and basically nothing else, though she at least stopped being annoying in the final season. Most of the side characters get tossed away for example Historia who became queen in season 3 is barely in the final season

Attack on Titan is clearly a Plot Driven Story though instead of a Character Driven Story
yes but there are plenty of plot driven stories with decent characters imo

@Watchanime324

meh youre too triggered by this so this is my last reply to you

anyway Occams Razor says the most simple explanation is likely the correct one in most cases so thats how me and those Eren fans think of the second part as for the first part again its just the rule of cool
Lol,you are really giving zero arguments or either just dodging the question completing, and now saying that I''m triggered so you won't counter my point.
in the end you didn't provide a single proof of how the story is pro-genocide except "it is pro genocide because me and some fans think so"

Well,I won't bother either now as you're probably going to say the same thing once again  "why does it matter if everything in the story is against genocide ...it is pro genocide because me and some fans say so"

A good mystery thriller turned Marvel entertainment. Everything was great before S3 Part 2.

Also, the fans making out, what seems to ALL, the secondary characters being far more impactful and important than what they actually are. Never seen so many brown nosed fans for shitty secondary characters than in AOT.

In a broader sense:

Author vision for the story conflicts with what I want to watch.

When they decided that genocide was wrong, a lot of things that could have been interesting like historia's child, wall titans, leading to a predictable ending since we have already seen the hunger games mockingjay part 2 and got season 8

After S4 the story turned into a pretty illogical mess. Even the new episode was a joke compared to the first 3 season.

Somebody didn't get it... S4 is where the actual impact and the anti war message come together. It's the best part that needed to be established by the 3 previous seasons

Only the fanbase tbh.
From the hardcore fanboys to the illiterate haters ,from the toxic shippers to the genocide supporters you'll find many different kind of clowns in this fandom.
You can find some clowns even in this thread
>>"AOT is pro genocide"
Someone asks to show anything in the story which supports it
>>"I can't give you that but it's pro genocide"

i love the story of aot so much, like when i first started watching i didnt think an anime would have a story that hooked me immediately. what i dont care about is where the story went, i felt like isayama dug Way too deep into politics in the story. it kinda ruined my enjoyment since im not a fan of anything political in animanga, regardless of if it relates to real world issues or not, i just find it boring lol.

so thats why i think the past season has been kind of a drag, plus it doesnt really feel too much like aot anime wise anymore? might be because of the studio change but, either way its not bad.

You know the meaning of the word seamless right?
To me the transition from s1 to s2, was NOT seamless at all. I couldn't appreciate s2, let alone like it.
Then the decision to split s3 in to parts. Part 1, I didn't give a shit, part 2 was the important stuff. It would have been much better to combine them. Still that was probably done out of necessity. I also have some issues with how the reveal of the identity of the armored and collosal titan occured, the collosal titan looked better in 2D, Rather than 3D. Mikasa's character design, changing to the point of her resembling an FTM.

Yeah it's subjective, but the only improvement I witnessed in AOT as it progressed, was Eren. From being annoying and wishing for his death. I began to appreciate and like him as a protagonist.

I don't really understand those who say that AOT justifies genocide... when Eren not only doesn't succeed in the end, but the main cast is literally opposing the genocide. It's the Jaegerists (both in the anime, and in the fanbase) who justify it, thinking it's the only solution for "peace".

Most kids are just finding ways to bring down the reputation. All retards here are doing the same.

Reiner is interesting but I'm not a fan of the other characters so I watch it for the plot. It's still a good story, not denying that.
Still find SOME of the CGI scenes hideous to look at, ofc there are tolerable ones.
Wow, it's amazing how someone can be so ignorant and unappreciative of quality art and sound design. It's clear that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about when it comes to Mappa's battle soundtracks. You're just another uneducated and unsophisticated viewer who lacks the ability to appreciate the nuance and intricacy of the music. And let's not even get started on your shallow understanding of the characters. Reiner may be interesting, but you clearly have no appreciation for the depth and complexity of the other characters. It's no wonder you're only watching for the plot, because that's all your limited mind can handle. And don't even get me started on your critique of the CGI scenes. Clearly, you lack the artistic eye to appreciate the beauty and innovation of the animation techniques used. But what can we expect from someone with such a narrow-minded and unrefined taste in anime? Maybe one day you'll be able to rise above your shallow opinions and truly appreciate the masterpieces that Mappa has created.

The fact that they built like 100 ish episodes over the span of 10 years to the rumbling only for them to backtrack, and say "this is wrong and a mistake". When literally the whole world was trying to get the eldians exterminated. Just why why. They should have explored more. Like up until season 3 it felt like a mystery but like in season 4 it just became an ethical dillemma

I'll be very brief, I love the show like no other but there's a big thing on my mind since I first saw it in 2013
We never get to see Mikasa or any other chick naked and that is horrible
How come violence is permitted but not nipslips? I just want a scene where Mikasa is having a shower and we see her tits or a scene where Historia is changing clothes and we see her butt naked just before putting on a bra
So yeah, I hate the fact that I don't know how pink are Historia's nipples

Annies character. more like inconsistency between the reaction of the main squad to reiner and to annie. reiner says many times he is sorry for what he did, he even blames himself that he is the reason the rumbling started. and none of the main squad says something against it. jean hit him in the face for killing so many people and so on.
annie on the other side gets no punishment for what she did... yeah she dont wanted it, but cmon she played with the soldiers like with a yoyo. she said she didnt wanted this, but still kills them brutally. also after jean snapped and hits reiner she blames the others for being nothing diffrent, bc they killed too. she never apologized for what she did.
reiner gets punished the whole time and no one likes him, for obvious reasons, but with annie everything is okay, even armin fell in love with her... wtf man...

another thing is the brutality mikasa killed her comrades on the harbour fight. like she had to do it, but she def didn't needed to explode them and showering in the blood rain.

but overall thos are some major issues I have with AoT, but it's still my favourite show of all time, bc those are just small things which are don't damage the quality of the show too much.

I feel like the main problem with Attack on Titan is that it cares about its great plot way too much over characters. Most of them are one-dimentional and passive. Look at Sasha, for example. Her last word was 'meat'. This moment will always be both tragic and ridiculous for me. Is this the only thing Sasha could think about?

i kinda agree but also disagree. imo there is no problem for a story to focus on the plot. you would never say to a character driven story "the plot is not complex enough". AoT wants to shock to make you think through the plot, there is no need that sasha says something philosophical on her death bed imo.

in character writing, i dont really like many characters in the show , and no one besdies eren have any depth. So despite all the deaths, none feel that tragic simply bcuz we never got to know more about them

Annie is most certainly not okay in the other characters eyes. You need to consider that regardless of what they think of each other, the characters have to put aside their personal gripes with each other to work together to stop the rumbling. It's apparent when they say goodbye to Annie that Levi and Jean still very much hold a grudge against Annie, and rightfully so. It's not that they forgive her, its that they have to work together regardless

I think its also worth pointing out that throughout the years Annie has been frozen in her crystal, Reiner has still been fighting against them. And when Yelena brought up that Annie got Marco killed when they were eating around the campfire, Reiner redirected blame to himself because her ordered her to do it.

If you have issue with Armin liking Annie you need to remember that he has Bertolt's colossal titan in him now and Bertolt had feelings for Annie, and he also doesn't see her as evil as we might, he's seen the colossal titan's destruction through his own eyes when he destroyed Marley's port. Armin has killed more people than Annie at this point, plenty of children too

I think while they have their issues with each other, they have each committed atrocities and it would be a waste of time to point out each other's when they need to work together to stop The Rumbling. I will agree they should have some scene where Annie apologizes though, especially to Levi and Jean

Plenty of the characters have depth, maybe not as well as Eren but his actions are driving the plot. Hange, Armin, Jean, Reiner, Gabi, Mikasa, Galliard, Zeke, Grisha, Keith, Magath, Connie, Bertolt, Levi, Floch, Erwin are some. AoT does a great job of cutting the fat, they don't have long, drawn out episodes where we learn about the side characters just to induce a tear when they die. If the relationship doesn't move the plot forward it probably isn't going to get a focused episode on it, which is good because I don't want a few episodes about Marco or Moblit just to make me cry more when their current screen time is sufficient for viewers to understand their importance to the main cast

Straight up false. Mikasa is the only character you can say this about, and even she has received some development in the latest season. Also AoT has a lot of side characters, it's better that they don't trade an drawn out series for unnecessary development on side characters when we already get plenty of development already. Most of the side characters are still part of the main cast. Historia's fate was a parallel to the founder Ymir's fate and serves to show Eren that the hope in the walls is to continue the cycle of feeding parents to their children, she serves a very important role in this sense even if she isn't in most episodes. Never heard "cares too much for the plot" as a bad thing before. AoT has some of the most complex side characters in Gabi, Reiner, Zeke, Levi, Erwin, Floch, Hange but if you're nitpicking then I guess you could come to your conclusion

Well , they dont have to use an entire ep to flesh out the characters. Erwin was pretty well written, i really like Levi but thats mostly cuz he is cool, other than that rest are meh imo.
There are plenty of anime with way more well written characters in way less episodes than AOT , but the again, AOT has a better story, so ig it kinda makes sense .
Tho my point still stands imo, but you are free to have your own opinion

Well if your point is that you simply don't like them, you're entitled to that. If your point is that they have no depth or are poorly written, well that's just not true. Half the characters I named are as well written or have more depth than Erwin, and they have greater relevance to the overall themes of the show (For example Hange, Zeke, Grisha, Gabi, Reiner, Jean, Armin).

Which anime has more well written characters in less episodes for example?

Well i would say anime like bungou stray dogs ,made in abyss and a place further than universe did an insanely good job at writing and developing characters.
When you take someone like Hange for example, what does she have going for her, she is interested in titans? A great leader? Yea but thats about it even tho she was in the show from pratically the start, so even tho
it personally didn't have much effect on me and i doubt many dropped a tear for that.
Same with sasha's death , because she was even less of an important character than Hange imo. But like i said AOT still makes my top 10 and for solid reasons, i think its really good and im not hating on it, just my personal biased opinion

I haven't watched those unfortunately, I hear they're good though. Attack on Titan characters are well developed in my opinion, and the story never drags as a consequence, the pacing is very consistent
If you intentionally try to over simplify the characters ambitions its always going to come out sounding simple. Hange was fascinated with titans and had the same responsibilities as Erwin. If you feel Erwin was well written I don't see how you can think Hange isn't when they've both essentially experienced the same character arcs. And she was a proactive character throughout the moments where Paradis Eldians and Eldians from outside the wall try to understand each other. That's fine that it didn't have much of an effect on you but she received ample development. I know I certainly did cry when she sacrificed herself much the same as Erwin did before her but you certainly don't need to cry for it to mean a character had an effect on you

Sasha was a comic relief character at first who was very thoughtfully developed into a catalyst for some of the best written characters in the series, Gabi and Eren. Without her role, Gabi would not be the well written character she is. In this way Sasha is a well written supporting character. And that's okay, not every character has to be a main character with episodes of exposition to be well written. I didn't cry for Sasha's death as well but I can recognize the role her character had in the story

Yup I can tell you're not hating, I just wanted to address some of your points
