I've seen your list and the rejected list, and I didn't see this entry, so maybe I'll give it a try. edit: added another entry & a P.S. edit2: added kiss images/GIF for Kannazuki no Miko. edit3: erased P.S., added extra tag fix recommendations edit4: added another entry, added more detail to all entries. Anime Name Kannazuki no Miko (TV, adapted from manga) MAL Link https://myanimelist.net/anime/143/Kannazuki_no_Miko How far does the romance go? The main couple confirm their love for each other with a kiss. This isn't a rom-com, so no dates after becoming a couple or anything. Do the protagonists kiss? Yes. Any other relevant information Other suggested tags Girls Love Yandere, Kuudere (on the fence on this one) Love Triangle: male protagonist and female lead fight over another female lead. female2-female1-male. Train Wreck: female2 and female1 are bound by destiny to sacrifice one of the two to seal a monster and maintain world peace for every one of their incarnations. Every time, female1 always sacrificed herself. Upon gaining her past memories, female2 decides to sacrifice herself, and comes to the conclusion that she needs to do everything she can to make female1 hate her, so female1 won't sacrifice herself. 'Everything she can' includes joining and harnessing the power of the dark side, the kidnapping and rape of female1, and engaging in a sword fight with female1 so female2 can lose to her and die. Conclusive (Romantic) Ending: the two girls confirm their love for each other, kiss, and female2 is sacrificed. Female2 is later reincarnated or something, and the two find each other somehow. Happy ending. Romance Content Medium? The main conflict of the series stems from the love triangle itself, and the main couple constantly goes into internal monologues about how the other one is absolutely fantastic and how they're unworthy of each other's presence. Kiss Frequency Low. The main couple kiss near the very end of episode 1, and at episode 12, around the 8 minute mark. If we're only talking about consensual kisses, of course. There are a few more where it's non-consensual or one of the girls had passed out. No Love Triangle: There's a third wheel in the relationship, but she plays no significant role in the relationship or the story. Romance Content Low. It's implied that they were both romantically interested in each other from the start (the boy confesses that he was), but the bulk of the romance happens and is shown in the latter third of the series. Kiss Frequency None. They never kiss. Anime Name Canvas 2: Niji-iro no Sketch (TV, adapted from VN) MAL Link https://myanimelist.net/anime/694/Canvas_2__Niji-iro_no_Sketch How far does the romance go? Love Triangle: MC, heroine, and the teacher who's the childhood friend and first love of MC. There's also a love triangle between the MC, the heroine, and the childhood friend teacher, and it's the main source of tension in the latter half of the show. Kiss Frequency Low. The 1980s TV anime is largely focused on the male lead's indecision and the psychic powers within his family complicating things within the love triangle, while a couple later films set following the TV anime explore the male lead finally starting up a romance and exploring how the relationship is going years after they graduate from school. Do the protagonists kiss? Only a few instances. Any other relevant information One of the series leads, Madoka Ayukawa, is one of the original tsundere of anime and offers a unique departure from the "tsun" and "dere types typically found of the tsundere character type where she can't be clearly defined by neither type. More I could possibly come up with, but so little time to sort out my thoughts. |

Just wanted to point out a few overlaps/display errors(?) within your list. Ignore them if you separated the entries under your own discretion. 'Romance Anime List' section: - Two entries for Akikan! - Overlapping 'Love Triangle' tags for Kiznaiver - Not sure if you put this in as a meme entry or copy&pasted someone else's writing, but you have Gamers! as 'Misunderstandings the Anime' - Library Wars and Toshokan Sensou are the same show 'Explanations' section: - Romance Content - Low color box extends to two columns extra tag recommendations: Rurouni Kenshin: Age-Gap (Male) Tokyo Ravens: incest? (Male & Female lead are distant relatives w/ same family name), Tsundere (female) Also, I noticed you have the movie version of Escaflowne, but not the TV version. Was this for a specific reason? If not, would you mind if I added it? |

@BurningCarnation - Two entries for Akikan! - Library Wars and Toshokan Sensou are the same show ah fuk I knew ctrl + F would screw me over, I knew akikan should have been there already - Not sure if you put this in as a meme entry or copy&pasted someone else's writing, but you have Gamers! as 'Misunderstandings the Anime' This was originally done by changelog so I figured why not keep it (he also had yamada-kun and the 7 bitches but someone requested to change that_ Tokyo Ravens: incest? (Male & Female lead are distant relatives w/ same family name), Tsundere (female) I don't recall there being any real incest vibes with them, so it may be a bit of a stretch. But it's been awhile since I've seen it so maybe I'm misremembering, if you think it really should be there it wouldn't hurt to add it I guess Also, I noticed you have the movie version of Escaflowne, but not the TV version. Was this for a specific reason? If not, would you mind if I added it? That's because I've only seen the movie version, not the TV version. If there's a significant difference between the 2 then sure, it can be added too KyleRiley said: May I suggest Cardcaptor Sakura? It may be an anime about a magic girl and stuff but the main story for the whole second half and the second movie is the relationship between Sakura and Syaoran. It's honestly a romance before anything else for many episodes. It can, but I haven't seen it yet so I can't really say much about it (if you give some more details I can add it in) |

@Short_Circut Gamers! Ah, well in that case, I guess just leaving it alone is better. Besides, Yamada-kun and the 7 Bitches is also funny, and everyone knows what it'd mean anyway lol Tokyo Ravens That's why I was hesitant: they technically are blood-related, but their relationship plays out more like childhood friends--and that tag is there already, so I guess leaving the incest tag out is better. Escaflowne There's quite a few changes between the movie and TV version, but the most notable ones are: - No love triangle (square? pentagon? more?) between two male leads & female lead(s), and thus a lack of train-wreck-worthy drama & different dynamics - Different (or lack of distinct) relationships between villains and male leads Honestly, Escaflowne would be one of those anime that warrants two different entries because they're so different. I'll get to writing one up. |

Short_Circut said: Cardcaptor Sakura Sorry, I'm going to be including spoilers. Anime Name Cardcaptor Sakura MAL Link (Please do not hyperlink this) https://myanimelist.net/anime/232/Cardcaptor_Sakura?q=cardcaptor&cat=anime How far does the romance go? Considering how young the main cast it it doesn't go that far outside heavy blushing, pinning, and eventual confessions of love. It's a fairly slow burn but Syaoran develops a crush on Sakura somewhat early on (episode 27 or so), but it takes Sakura a while to fully understand her feelings for Syaoran. Do the protagonists kiss? As far as I can recall... No? They are only like 11. Any other relevant information The anime has a heavy focus on romance and growing love. Syaoran when first introduced is a complete jerk toward Sakura, but he eventually develops such strong feelings for Sakura that he helps and supports her without question. Sakura has a crush on her brother's friend, Yukito, in the start but that eventually goes away when she realizes what she's feeling isn't romantic (this actually happens with Syaoran toward Yukito as well). Eventually Sakura grows to fall in love with Syaoran and they even exchange handmade stuffed bears as a sign of their feelings. The second movie sees Sakura eagerly and desperately confessing her deep, unconditional love to Syaoran, believing he has forgotten about his feelings toward her (magic reasons). She ends up in tears when he replies that he feels the same way. Tsubasa is a "spin off" anime that follows and mentions alternate versions/clones of Sakura and Syaoran who are also in love. It's somewhat implied through the CLAMPverse that Sakura and Syaoran are soulmates. Their Tsubasa versions are also mentioned in xxxHolic. There are number of other romances in the anime, some subtle, some not so much. Sakura's brother and his best friend Yukito, for example, are heavily implied to be romantically involved. So... Implied BL? Tomoyo, Sakura's best friend/second cousin, is in love with Sakura (this is especially apparent in the manga) but she loves Sakura so much that she supports her in whatever relationship she pursues. This eventually leads to her becoming Syaoran's "wing woman" and emotional support. She supports them 100% and even pushes Sakura to understand her own feelings for Syaoran. Tomoyo's mother was in love with Sakura's mother. There's a couple of Age-gap romances. One is even between a student and teacher. It's uh. Yeah. It's a bit creepy. Love is a heavy theme throughout the anime. Not only romantic love, but all forms. Familial love, love between friends, unconditional love etc etc. But romance is, never the less, one of the main focuses of the series. |

edit: added additional fixes unrelated to entry submission Anime Name Tenkuu no Escaflowne (TV, original) MAL Link https://myanimelist.net/anime/182/Tenkuu_no_Escaflowne How far does the romance go? The main couple do get together, but they have to part ways almost immediately after they confirm their mutual love. Do the protagonists kiss? No/Yes. The couple that ends up being together don't, but the female lead and the second male lead do. Any other relevant information Other suggested tags Love Triangle: Male1, Male2, Male3, Female1, Female2 are involved. Male1 and Male2 fight over Female1; Female1 and Female2 fight over Male2; Female2 eventually marries Male3, tapping out of the fight. Messy. Oh, and Female1 initially had a crush on Male4, who looks and sounds exactly like Male2. Train Wreck: Male2 has an illegitimate child with Female3, who is the elder sister of Female2, and now deceased. Female2 and Female1 has a crush on Male2. Female1 constantly swings between Male1 and Male2 throughout the entire show, sometimes abusing her supernatural powers to manipulate the relationship between the three and the rest of the supporting cast--the highlight being the marriage between Male3 & Female2. Male1 and Male2 constantly squabble for Female1's affection, which eventually leads to a fight-to-the-death over her (which is quickly resolved). Conclusive (Romantic) Ending: Male1 and Female1 get together, though they immediately get separated when Female1 returns to Earth. Romance Content Low~Medium. Despite being a mecha show with plenty of action, Escaflowne is fundamentally a shoujo which progresses from the POV of Female1, and she is completely preoccupied with winning the affection of either Male2 or Male1. Almost every episode starts with her voice-over, and how she thinks of her relationship with the two men. At many points throughout the show she agonizes over her own indecisiveness. Kiss Frequency Low. Here's a list of all the kisses in the show: episode 3, Male2->Female1 (cheek) episode 7, Female2->Male2 episode 8, Male2->Female2 episode 19, Male2->Female1 episode 20, Male3->Female2 Escaflowne movie Extra info: This is an alternate version of the original TVA series with vastly different character dynamics and background settings. typo fixes / additional tags / etc. - Mashiro-iro Symphony is spelled incorrectly. Anime Name: Marmalade Boy MAL Link: https://myanimelist.net/anime/334/Marmalade_Boy How far does the romance go? The series is rather infamous among 90s anime fans for the complicated romance developments that ensue. But the main two couples of focus in this series are two step-siblings whose parents decided to divorce and swap spouses with each other, and a student-teacher romance. Both couples do get in a relationship with one another, but have their drama coming either from the admirers of one of the two mentioned step-siblings attempting to hook up with one of them or the student-teacher pairing dealing with the scandal of their relationship. Do the protagonists kiss? Fairly often. Any other relevant information Nothing to add here. Anime Name: Nana MAL Link: https://myanimelist.net/anime/877/Nana How far does the romance go? The series gets fairly complicated exploring the romantic developments of the two titular Nanas of the series. One Nana, an inspiring musician, has a strained relationship with her former lover that gradually gets resolved throughout the series. The other Nana has a bad habit of getting in and out of romantic relationships due to her self-centered and needy personality as she is in relationships with three different men throughout the series, with the ramifications of her romantic endeavors getting focus in later episodes. Do the protagonists kiss? Fairly often. Any other relevant information A josei series from Ai Yazawa, creator of Paradise Kiss and Neighborhood Story. All I've got time for for now.
