A kid spell their name wrong is common.
And if you’re wondering, her name is Anya. Here’s the proof:

Loid is written as Roido (ロイド). That's just how Japanese is.

Anja is the superior way to spell this name.
Just like Sojuz, Jurij and PPŠ-41.

Actually the romanisatyion is ニャ = nya. And ー=(long a). ニ = ni, ヤ = ya, when they're combined ya is written smaller and the spelling becomes nya.

Anya is probably the most familiar spelling that people will default to. It's the Russian spelling. Ania seems to be Polish in origin.

The small ヤ after the ニ makes it it nya. So that would be spelt Ānya.

the same reason why they translate "nee onichan" into "hey fred" i assume
some translations are really poor be it official or not
other option is, they just decided that people are stupid so lets spell the name how you would read it in english

not true. it's just an issue with the translations. Originally in the manga Loid was spelled Lloyd, Yor was Yoru, and Anya was Ania. English releases change this though

Loid is written as Roido (ロイド). That's just how Japanese is.

There is no L is Japanese, it is instead a basically a combination of the English R and L. The R sound is basically where you start to say "l", but make your tongue stop short of the roof of your mouth, almost in the English "d" position.

In Japanese it’s written a-ni-ya not a-n-ya

It could be written both ways but they chose the first one, that’s probably why.

Nya would be with a smaller ya.

Or just an N with a normal sized ya

The anime plays in Europe and in some languages the 'i' and the 'y' are pronounced the same.
Because she's a kid, she doesn't know which one to use when writing down her name. Just like how she couldn't solve the fractions in math class, she can't spell her name properly.
This has nothing to do with the Japanese language.
I'm Hungarian, and a lot of our historical figures have names with 'y', but we say 'i' when speaking them out loud. In elementary school it's on tests how to write them correctly.

^ This
It was heavily inspired by West and East Germany if I'm correct. "Anya" is the "correct" way of writing the name here.

my guess was that Spy X Family takes place in Berlint which sounds a lot like Berlin, the capital of Germany. Anja is a very common German Name which is pronounced exactly like Anya. So maybe its just a German name?

ok I checked the Manga, the Doorplate has Anya written on it so its just an anime error

It's not an anime error.
Anya can't spell her name properly. On the Eden College entrance exam she also wrote "ANIAFOGER".

ニャ is smaller.. otherwise it would’ve been ニヤ, so yes it’s nya not niya
