I don't know how the TV anime ends. I dropped it because X is a pretty boring story without the manga's divine art. The movie did the best it could with 100 minutes, which is to say it didn't do vey well. The manga features distinct, memorable characters. I highly recommend it if you enjoy the movie's premise, and if the lack of an ending isn't a dealbreaker.

I'm interested in going for Requiem of the rose king (shoujo) and for the shounen side Vanitas and Pandora's Hearts in collecting those aside from Black Butler and finishing up on collecting Kaori Yuki's stuff hopefully.

Pandora's Hearts is so good and i highly rec it and also game wise similar name but different setting and story Pandora's Tower on the wii its horror zelda in a nutshell and worth a playtrhough and also shadowhearts is a good gothic jrpg if you're interested.

Yeah, Shadows House is the only one I remember seeing but it's one of my favorites from recent shows. I don't have much exposure to the gothic aesthetic;the album Seventeen Seconds by the Cure, and the novels Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, Frankenstein, Dracula, and The Monk by Matthew Lewis have the sort of tones I'd want to see in a gothic anime. Lots of Romanticism, transgressive themes, and also some alchemy for good measure.
