| Definitely Banana Fish. Most sad anime balance out the drama with some comedy to make it less sad. Banana Fish is basically depressing the whole way through with little hope. |

| Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu is depressing enough, everything Subaru went trough makes you sad. Also Attack on Titan and Yakusoku no Neverland are depressing, they both have the same base concept, they want to be free but they need to sacrifice alot for that. Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi is also a bit depressing, because the Main character is getting new chances to repair not only his but everyones future and he is still failing on the beginning. I am not sure about Tokyo Ghoul, because I watched only 1 episode and I will not continue to watch it, but it seems to be also a bit depressing. |
