lmao good one.

On a more serious note, I think the age rating would be PG-13. However the manga has more explicit things and I don't know if the anime will adapt those. So this rating may not be accurate depending on what happens later.

Eh? The manga has nudity and some semi-gruesome scenes, but I think for the most part most of those things can be scoffed over with dialogue. As for things that are required for the plot it can get pretty dark depending on how far this season will go. I'd say probably not suitable for teens younger than 14.

Was the question asking who this was meant for? It's a seinen. The characters are 16-20 so for the most part the content would be interesting for older teens and young adults. I would put the manga in a weird category between deadman wonderland, and Parasyte the maxim. Less explicit than Jagaan, but definitely meant for the same age range.

If you didn't think Parasyte was interesting, or you disliked the moral grey the characters lived in. I would say this show is likely not for you, even with the editiing required to make it into an anime.

The characters are 16 to 20? Or is some time skip coming up? Because if I remember correctly the male character is in 3rd year of high school and the female character is in her first year of high school.

Yeah, Shuichi is finishing his last year of high school as is Elana. I thought claire was 16? Either way they aren't absolute terms children which is my bigger point.

I'm even more confuse, in the first episode she said she is a first yea and he is a third year so how come its the last year for both of them? Did shuichi repeat his year twice?

Also you kinda indirectly spoiled me that they will get older, because at this current time in the anime they are like 13/15 years old.

Claire is the girl in the first episode that is saved. She is the younger sister. High school is 3 years in japan. She is a first year 15/16 he is a 3rd year which is a last year 17/18. Her older sister is the same age as the MC.

Does that help?

Oh, I wasn't aware of that and the character design wasn't helping as well because they look 13-15 years old to me.

But I guess the author choose that design to get the younger audience into it as well.

Lol they just showed a girl going nude, shoving herself inside a slimy body and mercilessly shooting someone point blank. Going to be a higher age rating than that.

In general, what would people rate the first two episodes age-wise? Because I read the manga, I can totally handle to content, but I'm 100% positive that my parents would end my life if they caught me watching an anime with full frontal nudity. (As long as there's no detail to the anatomy, they don't really have an issue. They don't really care about anime violence.)

"Age rating" on MAL is nonsense. The site afaik is owned by japanese companies now. Yet it uses some US rating system when there aren't even official ratings and just some people that add stuff to the database chose it based on their personal interpretation.

Other people from other countries might not care about the US system. (And might not even care about the system used in their own country because such stuff sometimes can be weird.)

I'd say reading reviews and watching some screens is the best (or if you can/want watch the whole thing) if parents want to chose stuff for their kids.

And adults watching stuff for themselves or young people in the internet ... probably don't care (or want adult stuff on purpose ha ha).

"Seinen" doesn't say a lot a bout the content. Afaik it still means young (here male) people. Older than shounen. I think in their twenties. Doesn't automatically mean super ellitist stuff.

There is often violence in Seinen where just the violence (not much good plot) makes it Seinen.
I don't think ecchi alone would make it Seinen (there is also lots of Shounen with fanservice) ... though here it is borderline hentai almost. :D (Might be the reason why it is Seinen. The plot feels more like some cheap shounen stuff.)

Demographics aren't genres and backdoorknight Umaru-chan is also seinen because it's also from seinen manga magazine.

Seinen only means manga is published in seinen magazine. Having gore and rape doesn't make manga seinen. Demographics have nothing to do with plot.
