| The last interactions in this episode between Kurou and Kotoko displayed a sort of chemistry between them that wasn't really present in earlier episodes. If moments like those were scattered more frequently throughout the anime, then their relationship would seem more reasonable. Before this, Kotoko just fell in love with Kurou at first sight for whatever reason, and Kurou himself only visibly treated her like a bug he was merely tolerating the presence of in the same room. The groundwork for this series has demonstrable potential in its clever character interactions and careful servings of mystery, but it does feel like it let the plot stagnate somewhat, with how long it lingered on the Nanase arc. The slow-paced approach to cases like that isn't anything out of the ordinary, but rather than clearing said case up, it instead became increasingly more convoluted with each episode, until it was unceremoniously and abruptly resolved by the last episode. Four or three episodes could've covered the gist of it just as easily, especially since Rikka will presumably be relevant even outside of this particular arc. |

| Honestly, the anime left me kinda underwhelmed. Though I didn't really have any problems with the characters, setting or type of story. Hell, I don't even mind them doing a longer arc - in principle. It was just misplaced at this point in the story. I think this title would have worked far better if it started off with a couple of shorter arcs to allow the viewer to get to know and feel out the characters and how the cases usually go and are solved. Also it would have maybe given Kotoko the opportunity to shine and wow the viewers with her accumen. Because for as much as she was lauded as the "Goddess of Wisdom" the solutions for both cases basically amounted to flinging as much shit as possible at the wall and see what sticks. It was more a case spinning together some bullshit lies she pulled out of her ass than any kind of smart reasoning or deduction. Which leaves the impression that anyone could have come up with some bullshit that could have satisfied the "let's call them clients". And it didn't really make her feel all that special or that she has some kind of power beyond that of a normal human despite the supernatural backdrop of the story. Rather Kuro came of as more special and impressive than her which is kind of a poor performance for what's supposed to be the main character. Also since this was all based on telling lies instead of reasoning it robbed the viewer one of the big parts that usually makes mystery titles so enjoyable. The chance to follow the deductions and guess along. All in all it's kinda a shame because I see the potential for an interesting story, but this wasn't it. |

| Overall, I find the concept of supernatural detective work for this series interesting. But my biggest issue with it is that it's very dialogue heavy. I found myself having to rewind certain parts a lot to understand what was going on. |
