| They want to keep with the OSX marketing. Vista sucks thats why theres a clear, FREE upgrade path to 7 if you buy a store bought pc now. Vista is still a heavily used OS anyway. If it was this or vista it'd be this. If it were xp or this, it'd be xp. And if either two fail, Im fucking it all and going linux. |

| Mac was never good, never will be, and never is a wise choice. I'd rather stick with Vista personally. I'm dual booting ubuntu and 7 and all 7 does is give me nvidia driver crashes all over the fucking shit place except for when in games, go fucking figure. Fuck you Microsoft. I'm getting my hands on a copy of Vista 64bit Ult and I'm never going to look at windows 7 again, not until there are Nvidia drivers exclusively for win7. |

| Don't know what's up with you but I have absolutely no troubles with the Nvidia drivers. Been using 7 since the beta versions and only had a few crashes since then. |

| Ah ok, well I would never buy an OS, without waiting for some patches. OH WAIT. I would never buy a OS xD Im running a black edition modded XP with some niffty toys. But when W7 rolls out, Im definitely waiting till the storm passes of possible complaints, and their first Service pack roles out to quell some if not most of them. Although doubt it'll do it at one go. Fuck Microsoft for selling out and making anti virii companies donkey punch us cause it'd be a good lucrative venture. Although thats what happens when you have an OS that is possible to break but still fix easily enough. |

| Linux => User Enemy Windows XP => User Friendly Windows Vista => Memory & External Hardware Enemy Windows 7 => XP with Vista's graphics & User Friendly Mac => User Friendly So far the best OSs out there are MAC and XP, maybe 7, but i never used it much. Linux is cool and all, but its useless if you use lots of windows softwares. (And no, don't say that there are generic versions of it for linux. Usually there is not, not to mention most suck.) Besides, as i said, its a pain on the ass to make it work the way you want. You are bound to find errors, and incompatibilities. |

| I've used 7 since the first beta build came out, and have used it in total on three different computer builds (two nvidia, one ati). Haven't at a problem on any of them, and in my experience Windows 7 has been more stable than either Windows XP or Vista, looks better than either, and has much better security (e.g. better uac). |

| Windows Seven is what Vista should have been, but due to a lack of patience... Oh well. Also, I quite dislike the argument that Seven and Vista are supposed to look better. There's programs with fucktons of themes that you can apply to Windows, making it look a lot better than any of Microsoft's default skins. |
| For all I know and care, W7 rocks when compared to my computers previous state with Vista. I'm pretty fine with the RC, so I'll wait a bit before actually buying W7, to see if the end of the rush calms down the prices. |

Well, I don't think Mac is the best option for gamers, also, it's a waste to buy a Mac only to run Windows on it with Bootcamp, it's a both Software and Hardware bargain. | Windows 7 is WIN! The only problem is that my webcam is not compatible, not to mention that when the trial runs out in 1 year, I wont be able to use it anymore. Also, it was very hard to get my servers to run, I had to turn off the firewall because it sucks with security, they think the average user is a dumb ass, so they make it really hard to make security exceptions, such as ports, I couldnt find a way to open a single port in the firewall, only programs. It looks win and it uses direct x 10 which is win with bioshock. The smoke looks real :D |

And yes the driver download thing is just generic. All the drivers are compatible but, however. It's just "broad" support for win7 currently. Nvidia is holding out on a huge Win7 addition till Directx11 is finalized for Win7. |
