| Okay, first off some explanation/analysis of what went down from my perspective (in part through train of thought while reskimming the thread), then messages to individuals. I get that it's fun to get one over on scum, but Lynch All Liars became a thing for many sites for a long time for a reason… Town isn't supposed to lie nearly this much. I feel like if Town had lied less it would have helped this game out a lot for everybody, and I have an extra bit of respect for those who played this game straight. See this article from a fantastic town player for more on when town should lie. Despite specific problems that came up during this game for me with the mod or other players, overall I enjoyed playing in it quite a bit. I'm not likely to participate in explicitly bastard games, but if another not-so-bastard game pops up, I might give it a try, MeatWorld constraints and other games allowing. I might also try to mod a game or two over here. We'll see. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ User-Specific Messages: @ScarletCelestial, I'm sorry. I figured I wouldn't have to do this, and yet, in my second online scum game, I'm apologizing for accusing someone of possibly cheating again. Last time was a gambit, that I learned afterwards was in bad form. This time was not. I legitimately looked at your post outside of alignment and said "That's really concerning." Hence "I don't care what your alignment is, but please don't try to use OoG." You can see some similar moments to ZE with at least both of Phraze and Shinichi, actually, if you ever give that a read. After being a responsible face/moderator/host in a lot of social groups, it's really hard for me not to do that. I still feel really bad about this, though. It seemingly destroyed your interest in the game, making things miserable for you. I know that feeling too well, and I don't want that to happen to anyone. For what it's worth, I have a ton of respect for you sticking to your guns on the role issue even when everyone else was letting it go. I hope you can forgive me for being such a tightass about rules and that future games between us can go better. @AbuHumaid, I also want this apology to extend to you, both for my behavior towards Scarlet, for basically redesigning a section of your game, and for ending the game as I did. This game was a lot of fun in and of itself, and I greatly appreciate the work you put into it. You did a pretty dang good job, especially for a first game. Although I do think 4 scum + TPR is pretty extreme on the anti-town. I'm still a little bit irritated about the role PM typo, but I forgive you for it. I felt it would be more appropriate to not make a scene about it or argue for an additional shot, though. Mason is a terrible false claim for scum, especially when you have a neighbourizer in the same game. If anything it would have been better to not give a false claim. @Lastwhisper31, Thanks for being hard-pocketed by me! :P It's very easy to focus on emotions in a game like this. I highly suggest that you try to take a step back more often and breathe a bit. I think that would have helped greatly in several moments both here and in ZE. Calm, rational critical thinking is key to being a better mafia player (and honestly, a great human being). Your aggression in general hurt town more than it helped here, and could have lead to a mislynch on you if people were so inclined (I was certainly considering pushing for it at several moments). @Shinichi-Kun, Yeah, I don't think anyone is trusting me here for a while. This game was too damn good. Also, as easy as it is to rag on you for tripping the scum team up with the mason claim, I don't think that's totally fair. The blame also lies with me, with Abu, and so on. Overall, I think you did a reasonable job with what you had. @Karote, Despite claiming early, I think your claim still helped me out a lot. I couldn't have survived into the late game as I did without such a setup for deepwolfing. @RE1031, I wasn't lying when I said you were Town GOAT this game. You played very well, and I want to extend my utmost respect for you for that. @Riku, I can't believe I wasn't lynched/killed/copped just off of killing you. The push on you based on not scumhunting is one that if you want to counter more effectively, you have to respond with more than just contradiction. I just was using ctrl-F; worked well enough. If you look at the miniprofile, you see people's join dates and you can use that to ctrl-F for people. Alternatively, you can ctrl-F for a unique bit of someone's signature, such as "pierrot" in @Phraze's signature. I used that a lot even when looking at ISOs in ZE because the game was so dang long (over 8000 posts). The issue is that you can 1. Often force an advantage by making people not able to see your posts. 2. Often force an huge game change by just not responding to someone's posts, even if they can see your posts. <- (This probably would have been the case anyways, but it's still pretty bad form to mechanically force it.) |

It was only temporary because I have Shinichi on my other game that I hosted lol. I thought it was a good tool to get ISOs. I just was using ctrl-F; worked well enough. If you look at the miniprofile, you see people's join dates and you can use that to ctrl-F for people. Alternatively, you can ctrl-F for a unique bit of someone's signature, such as "pierrot" in @Phraze's signature. I used that a lot even when looking at ISOs in ZE because the game was so dang long (over 8000 posts). The issue is that you can 1. Often force an advantage by making people not able to see your posts. 2. Often force an huge game change by just not responding to someone's posts, even if they can see your posts. <- (This probably would have been the case anyways, but it's still pretty bad form to mechanically force it.) |

Ah. Fair. Yeah, ISOs are much harder on mobile. I believe a search function still exists on most mobile browsers though... |
