Well, that's pretty sexist of your parents. I would ask them this, "if anime is only for boys and men, then why does Lucky Star exist? That show is geared towards girls and women and even the main characters are all female."
What they are doing is actually a form of gender discrimination. I bet next they'll say you can't like rap music because "it's only for black people".

It's because most of the Anime in the late 90s and early 20s were catered for boys.

The only thing you can do is to ignore your parents and show them that you like Anime regardless of their opinion.

I basically watched an entire season of Junjou Romantica on my phone and I read all of my manga on my phone.

Wtf is wrong with anime its not like a girl's gonna watch ecchi harem animes with boobfalls every few secs. Anyways just watch on your phone, also try to look asleep, and dont use sound(not even headphones, u wont hear him coming) thats what i do in "tommorow school" days when im at 4 am watching anime
