| Nichijou is one of those shows that takes me forever to watch. I really enjoy it, but it takes a lot out of me to digest. Every single episode is chock full of intense, varied, fast-paced comedy so it feels wrong to marathon. Well, it took 2 years, but I'm finally done, and what a ride. Maybe Nano's key really was the "key" to the whole show. If it was an intended pun, then I wouldn't be surprised. That key is ever-present, annoying, inconvenient, and cumbersome to Nano, but it's also an integral part of her everyday life. I'm reminded of Aria the Animation, where the inconveniences of daily life lends to a sense of nostalgia. Then again, it was also part of an elaborate, ongoing gag, so perhaps it's not as meaningful as it may seem. Nichijou could be a show about treasuring all the little, absurd things in life, or it could just be about a bunch of idiots doing idiotic things in the most grandiose ways possible. Taking the little things in life and exaggerating them to become larger than life, for better or worse. This is a fantastic show, and it reminds me of the best parts of Azumanga Daioh, but somehow even more insane. Great stuff. |
| Great way to end it with the key spinning. Nano accepted her "ordinary life" as the best life for herself, togheter with her family and friends, the life that makes her happy. |
| This show had so much passion and care put into it and the comedy was a riot, I was watching this alongside Azumanga Daiou and it was one of the best anime watching experiences I had, the Shinonome household was always a bless to watch and those Nano episodes were so beautiful. |
| Nano never truly having a say on whether her key stays off is hilarious on a cosmic level. This was oozing with charm from Episode 1. Can't wait for City! |
| Nice sweet ending.. I didn't really liked that much at start but more I watched more I loved. Every main or minor characters are intresting on their own. Yukko, Misato and Sakurai sensei have to my favourite. Comedy and be hit & miss but even when it does SoL is just enjoyable on its own. Very solid allround... |
| I thought it was pretty nice watching the birthday party and the cake being cut. It's always fun with the birthday party. I like the fact that the cake got smashed. And Hakass made a mistake. I also really like this no. Um, part of you goes and Hakase and Nanu all become friends with each other. And also Sakamoto, too, the cats. And also the… doctor at the school is not the doctor but the scientist at the school. Or if I forget what she does, I forget what she is anyway. I think… the. The episode was pretty good. I feel like the mess-up with the cake falling is kind of supposed to show just another example of the theme of the show, which is about just finding joy in the maintain. I think it's a beautiful day in some ways. I think. Haway was really cute this episode; that was not who. It's kind of sad that Nano never really got her wish of getting the thing on their back off of her, but I guess this episode showed that she was fine having it after all, which is kind of a weird mindset. But I guess it's understandable. Given that no one really cares about her having our back, she's still appreciated as the person she is. At least the narrative tries to present the situation that way to us. It'd be cooler. I have actually seen Akase, like, say really intelligent things in one episode. But that didn't happen. It's whatever. You know, there really wasn't much of an ending for the characters or character arcs, but honestly, there weren't actually character arcs in ears, so it's fine. And the last part about motivation, I think, was kind of strange. Like, I don't know why it ended that way. But anyways, it was good. The one teacher and the other teacher getting together are not a student. advisor. I hope they get together. We never got a confirmation on that at the end, but I'm just going to assume that they did. Yeah, it was good. |
