Another self-reflection philosophical filler.
Not even close to Utena's level of depth, it's so pseudo deep in Ergo Proxy, I remember why I wanted to drop this anime so much times when I was watching it for the first time. Really boring fillers that barely progress the plot or develop characters. Utena's fillers have solid character work and actually provide meaning through symbolism, while here in EP it just seems like an attempt at philosophy similar to my experience when I was reading Alice in the wonderland when I was like 10 and it's barely even deeper than what my thoughts were.

Well that was definitely something with this dome's proxy ability to take and copy the identity of the other people, especially how he confronted Vincent with his speech and trying to assault Re-L and Pino, that was pretty good but kinda confusing to follow with all the same appearances

ok the preview was pretty cool. The episode was redundant though it's obvious that Vincent has changed and wants to live

Episode had me tripping major ballsack. Also there's no way that milk in that supermarket was still good. But was it even there? How much of it was real? Are there really abandoned (is it even truly abandoned?) cities like this scattered throughout this vast, endless, desolate wasteland? In that case, this city was kind of like a mirage in itself; a mirage of death and deception. Anyway, it looks like the managed to all get out of there alive, although I'm still mostly clueless as to what just went down. Somehow their own projections of themselves or something of the sort managed to manifest with the goal of, killing their original counterpart I guess? Idk, I have no idea, but I still enjoyed this episode.

This episode pulled off the trippy, futuristic dystopia vibe pretty well

This episode was the best of the series. The symbolism relating back to Hamlet (where the episode title is derived), the little clues to the nature of the other proxy, it is great.

That was a hell of a place to take a break. Hallucinations, teleportations and clones galore.

This episode reminded me a lot of the Aeon Flux episode "Chronophasia". A virus that drives people crazy (kinda like Cogito, how Iggy most of the AutoReivs got violent when becoming sentient), but at one point caused happiness (like we see in Pino, who just acts as an innocent child). Re-l and Vincent also keep choking each other out like how Aeon and Trevor do, without spoiling too much. I know time loop episodes aren't really a novel concept, but I do wonder if they took inspiration from the show as a whole when making Ergo Proxy. The movie adaptation also came out right at the tail-end of 2005, with production going back about year in advance. It's only a few months before Ergo Proxy aired to when the movie released, but Charlize's costume reminds me of Re-l's with a little more skin. I can't find anything in interviews stating this, just about the music stuff for character design.

(Also, if you haven't already, if you like Ergo Proxy you might like Aeon Flux too. Just don't watch the movie...)

At the end when Re-l brings up the lack of reflection on the water... I'll have to re-watch the episode another time to see if I can catch that!

I fully support Re-l being angry and mean to Vince. Dude deserves it.

The part where Re-l fell off the building and was laying on the ground - nice view of her ass.

This episode was so damn trippy, I loved it. A lot of good quotes and philosophical analysis.

I love he reoccurring theme of Re-l "dying", but not. It shows how not only the viewer would hate it, but how it'd impact Vince and the show's story overall.

I'm always open for new recommendations, please PM me if you have any.
