You know there is a deference between "take a initiative" and "do exact the opposed of what a superior, with alot more experience, stronger soldier than me tell me to do". And let's be real here guys she goes for it and disobey not for the sake of humanity but because ft beat and kidnap eren. It was reckless move that she most likely shouldn't do if eren wasn't on FT mouth. Why you try to make it look like one life opportunity to safe human kind? It wasn't it was just rage mikasa don't care about anything else than take revenge for eren. And now i remember Levi actually tells her again to back off when she was going for the neck but she is continue anyway without hearing. I wasn't saying that it was the best move for humanity. No one is. I'm just saying she did what she thought was right, which of course wasn't. She didn't totally go nuts with emotion, though she might have involved her feelings. You can't expect too much from child soldiers then again... |

| I really love the action of Levi handling the female titan. But it felt really short. Seeing the Survey Corps with the defeat on their faces, especially Levi, my goodness. Petra's father talking to Levi is like rubbing salt on a wound. Can't wait to see the Military Police now. |

| Reminds me that it's interesting how Levi pretty much holds nothing against his comrades, ever Before he gave that guy Petra's badge, I actually thought he was gonna beat his ass, it was his fault that all those bodies had to get dumped (even though the idea of gathering up all those bodies in a Titan infested forest in the first place is ridiculous), but stopped to console him anyway. Could've easily blamed Mikasa for spraining his ankle or even scold her for going against his orders, but doesn't. I don't even think he would've minded if Eren decided to go Titan first time around even if it would've fuxed with Erwin's plan |

| Not for a while, at this pacing. Say it takes a few weeks to heal; As of now, the manga has enough material for about another 12 episodes but chronologically is only a few days ahead of this episode. |

Levi took his bloodied hand and ensured him that he had indeed contributed for the humanity's path to victory. Never seen anybody died so peacefully after being done by a titan. Btw, I'm glad to see that Armin has grown this much. He still could deduce and figure out things even though he was under attack. Must be hard to have close friends like Eren and Mikasa. Someone has to be the mind. I would like to add that when Levi took the soldiers bloodied hand, just some time before this they talk about how Levi is an obsessive clean freak. To me this adds greater significance to the act itself. |

She clearly thought that in spite of a superior's orders, an opportunity is an opportunity. She was not going crazy like you say at all. Rather, she just saw a chance to strike, regardless of orders. I just said a good soldier would have initiative, not Mikasa is a good soldier who has initiative. You 'diced' my words up. When I say child, I mean inexperienced and immature. While she might be withdrawn, I'm sure she's no adult yet. You can't get rid of immaturity and inexperience with training alone. Field experience was required from her experience in Trost, she's shown that she is pretty independent from superiors. Hell, she wasn't even acting under orders during the HQ operation. She is not one of the best soldiers so far at all. She's only the best trainee of the 104th, noted that she could become the best given time. Provided experience, she will get better. These events were suppose to demonstrate that fact. I'm sorry to say, but she's not 'perfect'. Though I actually thought that was the one thing people complained about to begin with. I'm not defending her as much as trying to say that your blowing her mistakes way out of proportion. It was bugging me, so I needed to say something. It's not like she hasn't realised her mistakes either. Hell, she seems ashamed if anything else, judging from how she looked away after Eren asked if she saved him. |

I think it's more interesting to slowly learn about his character over the course of the show. He definitely cares about his friends and humanity and doesn't hesitate to kill any threat. He perfectly knows his own abilities and limitations. Basically he's a guy you'd always want to be on your team. |

| Man, this is probably the hardest I've cried to an anime since... I would say After Story, but this was even worse. The entire 'return-to-town' scene hit me so hard, especially the Petra/Levi situation. |

Since a lot of characters die in this series, many of which are very good at killing Titans, it's my opinion that they all are a huge blow as a loss. |

| Congrats to the two idiots who risked the lives of everyone in the convoy, to get a DEAD body, it's not like they would make a difference even IF they would returned the body and didn't die in the process since like Levi said, dead is dead, they can't help him now. |

| Nah I don't care for Petra neither. I felt NOTHING when she died and I actually stated my disdain for Levi's squad in Ep21 discussion. Found all of them annoying aside from Gunther but even he was minor As of now I'd only be somewhat pissed if Jean happened to be killed, just because I like how his character has developed thus far (don't need no smug ass manga readers trying to spoil shit for me btw) |

If nothing else is significant in the deaths of the Special Operations squad, it go to show just how devastating titan shifters are. Not to mention how unpredictable. Humanity is screwed as usual. Otherwise they weren't so crucial as characters. Still not happy to see them go though. |
