I have been expecting it since that tweet about how a "certain volleyball manga just had gotten an anime adaptation greenlit" several months ago, but it is quite nice to see a confirmation! I remember how much I have liked Furudate's style since Yotsuya-senpai, and as Haikyuu managed to be a success (and one of my favorite on going manga), I can't help but be glad. |

fable said: I think it's a fun anime for fujoshi and sports lovers alike. To be honest, High Kyuu is an anime with a big fujoshi fanbase and is very popular in female parts of fandom, but what does that even matter? All having a fujoshi fanbase means is that characters generally have some good interactions, and some meaningful relationships. Anyone can enjoy it regardless. Anyway, as a big fan of the manga I'm excited to see it get an adaptation. Hope it will be good. Because people are threatened by girls who want to see two male characters holding hands and like to insult their intelligence for it but putting a female character in a tentacle rape doujin is completely normal. "Fujoshi" are capable of liking a series without wanting all the guys to bang each other. Hard to believe, I know. |

Isn't this a sports series aimed at guys? On mangafox it always said shounen.. And I'm starting to think that all this fujoshi hate is stemming from some sort of misplaced envious resentment of never experiencing intimate interaction with a fellow male. I mean, these characters aren't even that hot. They look like standard anime guys. But they're friends? They interact with each other? Their relationships are an important aspect of the story? Garbage! Fujoshi! Yaoi! 1/10! I hate it! Honestly, I'm starting to get that vibe. Anyway, I've been meaning to read this manga, is it any good? And is there any romance involved? |

While true, they are in the minority, also at cons and such you see very few fujoshi that are decent like you stated, you get the squealers and the ones that watch anime solely for the shipping opportunities. Most of the ones you mentioned are much more private about things than average. |

Ah all this sport anime are going to make me do all these sports and eventually I'll pass out. Hot weather why did you just come out dammit anyways totally ptw. And what's wrong with a title having a huge female fanbase? Just because its a shonen it MUST be filled with young boys as a fanbase? lol you guys are the real pussies here not the female fans. |

Freaking finally. Been waiting for this for AGES. Every time I'm always asking for a Haikyuu anime and here it is at last! I don't know if it'll reach Kuroko levels but it has a strong fujoshi fanbase and has more female readers. I hope it does as well as Kuroko did! |

(Or to be more exact, those were results which took into consideration the people who bought WSJ! and what series they read; they probably disregarded people who share the magazine etc.) |

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

Just because it spent 2 weeks in the bottom 2 means nothing. Kuroko was in the bottom 5 almost all the time prior it's anime. Beelzebub, Soul Catchers, Kurokuroku, Gintama....these are also bottom five dwellers. In terms of old series, Beelzebub and Gintama are in more trouble than Haikyuu. Haikyuu sells more than both of them. |

Yes! Been waiting for this to happen, this is going to turn out amazing, if the animation company does a good work, which they usually do when it's about sports anime. This is probably going to end the same way as Kuroko, where they lost in the end. Hoping for 25 episodes! :) |

As Shadow-Chan said, it may have it written but it definitely is not "clearly" shown from the pics we have. Even with her highlighting I could not make it out that it says Production I.G. and if ANN has a better quality photo of the poster that really "clearly" shows Production I.G. it should have used that photo in its article instead. So in conclusion my comment about sloppy reporting standard by ANN has not changed. |
