The series is apparently only 1/3 done according to the author.

it's also been said that the author was sick or something and so volume 9 was delayed.

90% sure there will be season 3 by 2014 or 2015 (hopefully the former)

also with a live-action film planned to be released sometime this year or next (?), there's much more to come for Haganai.

hoping the series ends with Kodaka x Sena though

Where'd you get that info? That according to the author the series is 1/3 done?

a live-action movie? Are you talking about a movie about Hanagai or a movie that the studious that did/are doing Hanagai are currently working for that has nothing to do with Hanagai itself?

Also, most of you, if not all mentioned, either a possible 3 season or OVA's but why aren't you guys considering a movie, K-ON style?

Yozora said she's on a journey now, that, for me, hints at a big adventure of getting her back to be the Neighbours club president. A plot for a movie to end it all?

Also the fact that Sena already confessed her love to Kodoka.. how'd they going to keep a series when this is out there? Will Sena say that she was only lying for such and such reason (of course we all know she wasn't lying) so we can continue with the N. Club activities like nothing happened?

Anyways, I'm happy that this season ended with at least Rika and Konoka realizing AND saying that they're friends. From episode 1 it was pretty obvious that they all would become great friends but no-one would say it/realize it. I was pretty tense that they didn't even consider themselfes as friend. Luckily we have Rika, she's great.

It seems that my post has disappeared from yesterday, strange. I don't remember what I wrote yesterday, but oh well.

I think that season 3 will have a kinda Sena and Kodaka relationship, but it will struggle amidst events in the club. I also think that Hinata will fight against Sena for Kodaka, who knows..Yozora could very well come back and cause more chaos.

Regarding the series being 1/3rd done, it was said by the author during volume 8's release.

Also the fact that the ending scene with Sena and Kodaka was not in volume 8 means that there's definitely more to come. The author added it in (I believe he's the write for the anime, or the script writer?) The ending was a cliffhanger to hint us that there's more to come. The anime is doing very well commercially from what I know, and there's some great amount of popularity. The movie will definitely cash in more money for production as well.

I voted yes because of the last episode. But it'll be a while untl the novel goes on enough for a third anime season, and maybe at that time they just won't produce it. hope I'm wrong, though.

Given volume 8 marks the end of the prologue, I kind of think that the author might advance the clock... maybe to the point where Kodaka starts his third year. That's how some prolouges work (with epilouges usually advancing the clock far into the future).

I hope the series continues smoothly. I was kind of sad when a fallout occured to another LN series similar to this one.

The author is re-writting the light novel....I have a feeling that is fan service based, probably the ending was with Yozora and he will change it to Sena.
Oh,btw check the facebook profile from time to time, you get the fastest news there. But be warned alot of meat in there.

I want this series to run for many seasons. I love everything about it. I hope that the author doesn't make Sena run off and Yozora confess. I want Kodaka to end up with Sena. I think Kodaka couldn't accept the confession because it shocked him, and he is concerned about Yozora. Sure he definitely has romantic feelings for Yozora and Sena. This dilemma will have to work itself out after they find Yozora. This might be seasons in the future. I think Yozora will make a push for Kodaka at some point, and then it will be an all out competition. Hopefully Sena wins, cuz i kind of hate Yozora.

The series' ending looked to me like it was definitely designed to lead onto another series (especially with the very last shot...no spoilers for you who may not have seen it yet). However, the anime industry in weird. Even if a new series is planned they could just cancel it due to business reasons. And lets be honest there was a small conclusion in a way for Kodaka in the last episode and that could be reason to leave it there. I HOPE there will be a season 3 but I'm not holding my breath.

I have skimmed through this topic and agree that they really should do a season three. I haven't read any of the light novels and haven't researched anything on this supposed movie, but while there are some things they could get away with by ending it on season 2's last episode, there is still a lot of room to continue. Many have set the light novel continues and after the last scene, after what happened in the end of season 2, I don't want to see it end like that.

im pretty sure that they will have a season 3 because they ended season with yozora going on a "mysterious journey" and kodaka meeting the girls from the student council. why introduce this if its really going to end with a few ovas? i really hope they make season 3 soon because it was really cool seeing the club treating each other as friends instead of just clubmates

I would like a 3rd season, but it is an anime so I say that depends solely on sales. The blurays for NEXT have been delayed twice I think (maybe more) so the final volume doesn't even come out until December I believe. I think that might hurt sales, but maybe it would improve them perhaps it is even a delay because of some sort of ova in the works? Volume 9 come out this month I think.

Let's not forget there was a 2 year or so delay between the first and second seasons. It hasn't even been a year and there hasn't been a new volume released until hopefully this month. I also read they were having issues with Buriki (original illustrator) doing the jacket art. I don't know what that was about. I don't know what all he has on his plate, but they haven't done a volume of the light novel in a while and I don't know how many pictures are really in it so I wouldn't think he was that busy.

And someone asked about the movie. I read there is a live action movie in the works. There was a casting call posted at an university for it. It would be distributed by Toei and produced by Times-in I think. Hirasaka (LN writer) said no because the story wasn't intended for live action (which personally couldn't agree with more), but he changed his mind due to the "crisis in the light novel industry". Which in my kind of English boils down to money if you ask me. Though he will have a completely hands off role. That may bode well for a 3rd season though. If he would agree to a live action despite being against it. I would think that means his wallet is getting thin. I guess it could be to drum up interest in the LN, but I think that would be more harmful than good especially if it's horrible like other live action adaptions. Besides I would assume a movie would bring more business to the anime or even mange rather than the LN. Though it maybe different in Japan either way I guess some of it always goes into his pocket. I got most of the details of Wikipedia so take it with a grain of salt. But I have read about the casting calls from several sources though with movies that is subject to change on a whim.

Haganai is doing well . They ran out of material source so they paused it.
Also , it was marked as "End" because , as I said it back then and now I'm saying it again , the anime has reached it's purpose ..... they , now , are friends . The only reason they continue this is because of fans . The author himself said that the novel supposed to end there but because he let himself carried by the fans he gone out of the normal course.

The delay was due to Buriki. The covers were supposed to feature his art, but they are going to without them for the rest of the Blu-Rays. It was rumored that he's not feeling well.

They have already casted Kodaka and Yozora.

Seto Koji will play Kodaka
Kitano Kie will play Yozora

No word on who will play Sena yet. The directors are probably being extremely careful on this part as to not upset the fans.

The movie will be a spinoff of the anime and LN series.

The ending of Season 2 greatly hints that there will in fact, be a Season 3. Once the manga has gone past what they're going to cover in the anime, it'll be aired shortly after that like the other two.

Quite frankly, no. Season 2 has been a borderline bomb sales wise compared to S1 ( 11111 vs 7358 average) and it hasn't really boasted the LN sales. There also seem to be some issue with the Illustrator which is why they had to push back the BD/DVD sales, and I am not sure if they are willing to seek a new one.

It wasn't as high as season 1, but they aren't bad sales. The only thing stopping season 3 is a lack of material to adapt.

I would certainly watch a 3rd season. If not, I think I'll just buy the LN before I leave Japan and read them at my leisure. But it's rare for shows like this to get more than 2 seasons. But here's to hoping.

Needs to be mentioned too that the latest volume has a scene that's going to be very difficult to put in an anime, not sure what they are planning to do with it.

The 9th volume of Haganai released not too long ago, so there's content being slowly produced for a third season. The second season went all the way up to the 8th volume, so it'll be some time before the third season happens.

I hope theres a season 3. I loved all the characters and the way they interacted with each other. And the banter between Sena and (Yozura? I think that was her name) was hysterical to me.

If they do make a new one i hope it retains its comedy and doeant try to go to serious too quickly.

Nope , not enough material .......correct me if I'm wrong but what is published now in volume 9 is enough for almost 1 episode by the format that they have been following.

It's true that they finally have friends, but only Rika and Kodaka have noticed it, IMO until all of them finally gets a decisive conclusion for each one's problems, there'll be more seasons, or at least more volumes in the manga/LN (dunno what are Haganai origins)

I don't see how one of the main characters running off is a "good" way to end the series. I would be most annoyed if that was it.
