But not really liked any of it to any degree, because the stories tend to be veeeery piss-poor, and when there is somewhat of a good story, it's let down by very low budget production values. Granted, it's porn, and it's mostly made for people to masturbate to, but I'd rather something with substance... thus why I generally ignore hentai titles. |

| Hentai is just another genre of anime which has every other genre placed in it, just with sex. I like it, I blike everything, That Genshiken gif explains it well, Genshiken is nowhere near hentai level btw. Best hentai is defined in different ways, although Moonlight Lady is a strong contender since it actually had a decent story sex scenes, etc....one of my favs also which is rare to have my favorite actually be good. But I love a lot, from Tale of Little Monica to Bible Black to Submission Central to anything by the guy who animates and directs Princess 69/Dark Love/Seifuku Shoujo etc.. I have a HUGE list but it doesn't matter, it's just anime. |

| Doujins yes, hentai (generally) no. Most hentai are nothing more than a glorified collection of gifs, and come off as being pretty dumb. Plus, most hentai I know of tends to go more for the things I don't find appealing. (like older women who wear lipstick...) |

Having this thread start today, when I finished my first hentai and in the very same manner as suggested above. I was watching Touka Gettan (just finished today) when I noticed that there was a prequel. I clicked on the link and noticed the episode number, seeing that it was five I hastily downloaded it without looking at the rating. So, I was quite surprised to know that I inadvertently downloaded hentai. I was about to turn it off when I found out what it was and was ready to delete the files when my roommate who was watching over my shoulder stopped me, insisting that we see it through. After watching all five episodes, he muttered that he was surprised that there was a storyline and left to take a cold shower or have a smoke or something – he was mumbling. This left me to believe that most hentai/pornographic material doesn't have much of a storyline to begin with and I can see the logic to that line of thought. Will I purposely watch another hentai? Probably not, it's not my cup of tea, like most have suggested above, I'm also the type of person that like to get emotionally attached to the character before any sexual act is performed and only if it is necessary to progress the storyline. |

| All good points. Renaissance art was very much about nudes drawn by skilled artists for men/women to look at in the privacy of their homes. Character development is very important if its context then it makes sense; case in point: Terminator or wicked city. I saw urostukidoji when I was like 13 and it blew me away the story was excellent the sex scenes were context relevant, like when nagumo fucks mugumi and comes so hard it blasts the shield that’s protecting the chojin shrine so he can kill his son. awesome!. The visuals were disturbing though. After that real porn seemed soft. hentai is as you say a leap of imagination from writing it to drawing it to watching, it is superbly crafted as are most anime. when the storyline is rape and your watching a women getting raped in a violent way your brain almost forgets that this is a terrible thing and accepts it because the pictures are so erotic and beautifully drawn you forget its an ugly act. One funny thing I found is that people who watch real porn look down on people who watch hentai, thinking they’re superior and always put on mockery of “they fail in real life.” Why do people watch porn to begin with? Why do people watch hentai? They imagine themselves to be in it, in another realm. A lot of male and females who are in media world today grew up with sex on TV. Although school give education to kids about baby-making as early as elementary level today, what they find on the Internet is their own discoveries and learning. Since this activity is usually secretive, nobody’s gonna tell them that hentai is disgusting or the same as porn. |

| Hahaha. What a discussion...it's hard to stay serious considering the topic. It's just ridiculous to expect everyone to understand each other in a subject such as this. Obviously, the degree to which one accepts hentai is probably something personal to each person's own character. I myself can see why someone might like it, but it's just way too unrealistic most of the time, and it usually doesn't have much depth to it. I mean, yeah, most anime is relatively unrealistic, but you still watch it because it's something that you can relate to. In these terms, hentai and porn vs. regular anime and reality are respectively extremely similar. On a crude level it's like lust vs. love... so something means a lot more if it actually comes out of a developed relationship. |

| I've seen some hentai (check my list to know which ones). The first thing with hentai, for me, was disgust. Since i get attached to characters very easily, i couldn't watch a character i like getting raped. As simple as that. Back then i was 15 or 16. When i turned 17 or so, i was attracted to hentai more than real porn but i still couldn't watch cute and good-natured girls getting gang-raped, so i fapped to clips, thus eliminating all character development. When i turned 19, i started looking at hentai at a slightly different perspective. I could no longer see it as porn (as something to fap to), i merely watched it for story (Moonlight Lady) and in most other cases, the art (which is, sometimes, qutie good). Right now i see hentai as a big waste of time. If i watch anime, i want it to have a good plot (like Death Note or Monster) OR to relieve stress (take Aria for example). Actually i'm OK with everything but hentai since no matter what title you can think of, it's better than 99% of the hentai titles ... Ah well, i guess the attitude one has towards hentai depends slightly on age and definitely on how much you've seen it. Oh yea, i forgot about the seriously unrealistic stuff (like la blue girl or whatever it was), where girls suddenly grow 1 meter long steel cocks and fuck each other senseless, tentacles (which, apparently, turn some people on) and regular futanari (which i just can't relate to, no matter what ...) I have watched a lot more hentai then is on my list and I got to say that my favorites are usually tentacles/demon hentai. My most memorable hentai got to be Dark Love since it left me with a headache. A close second is Taimanin Asagi because it's censored. If it was uncensored, Taimanin Asagi would shot up to the number one spot. |

| I haven't seen many hentai movies, but I have a growing collection of hentai-related pics such as CGs, manga, and doujinshi. Most of it is ecchi, yuri, and loli. I also have a thing for incest hentai. Most of it is pretty softcore, I don't like guro, rape, tentacles, scat, or anything else that might be considered "alternative" or "extreme". My favourite hentai video so far is Renketsu Houshiki. There were no subtitles in the video I downloaded, which is unfortunate because I hear it actually has a pretty good story for a hentai title. |
