| When I read books, I generally don't listen to music, it's pretty distracting and I can't concentrate unless its soft music or no vocals. I guess it became a habit so I don't listen to music when reading manga either. But I did tried once, I can still concentrate but just not used to it. |

| I can listen to music while reading, but sometimes I do have trouble concentrating. If a song I really like starts playing, I have a tendency to start singing along, and I completely lose track of what I was doing. But I can't read with people talking or the TV on. I don't know why....... But I really don't have any preferences when reading. If I've been at my computer, music is usually still playing, and I just don't bother turning it off. But I don't need music to read....... wow, I just got distracted xD I started singing and forgot what I was doing =P Haha, I should probably work on that..... |

| I have to listen to music while I'm reading. It doesen't matter if it's a novel or a manga. ôo Usually it's music that suits the manga: romantic songs when I'm reading a romantic manga (for exampe Kare - First Love). When I'm reading Fullmetal Alchemist, I often listen to Linkin Park. ôO The music has to be very silent, so that I can concentrate on what I'm reading (especially when it's english language), but I can't stand absolute silence. |
| I listen to music, but on low volume and not loudly as I normally do. My playlists are mostly separated by mood, so I listen to the playlist that fits the manga best. For some manga, I've made playlists of songs I want to hear during the comic too |

| I'm usually always listening to music while reading manga, habit I carried over from reading books. Generally listen to various Anime OPs, EDs, and insert songs on repeat while reading. I sometimes mix a little classical in there too just for variation (tends to help me focus more, all depends on what type of manga I'm reading) |

| i love music sooo much... that its a HUGE distraction. especially if it has words. though even my instrumental/classical/piano music grabs my attention. so whenever i read anything or do hw music cant be on. i dont mind background noise cause i just tune it out, but music is a nono. oh, i also listen to music when i go to sleep.. and some nights i cant because i focus on the music so much that i cant go to sleep. |

I actually prefer to listen OST's to the corresponding anime when reading manga (my last experience would be reading the Claymore manga while listening the anime OST). Also the music of Akira Yamaoka (the composer of the Silent Hill game series) goes pretty well with almost all sorts of reading. |

| I'm going to be another person that says they listen to trance/techno, and songs with no words in 'em. The Okami soundtrack is especially good! If I'm re-reading manga or reading the manga of an anime series I've already seen, then I can do songs with words in them. |

I don't know about you, but for me, once i get into the manga, the music in the background is oblivious to my ears >___<" i ignore all lyrics and sound from the music and concentrate on the manga.... it was not until recently that i realised this. gosh talk about untalented >___<" |

| I play mostly background music from various places including (but not just) Melty Blood, Code Geass, Air Gear (Oh god the OST is great), Deathnote, etc. It really just depends on what the chapter is about, if its happy-go lucky I'll play something fast and upbeat, if its a fight scene, I play something more serious but blood-pumping, samething goes with every other type of scene. |

| I do. I grew up in a family with seven other people, it was rarely quiet and so I was conditioned to function with noise. In fact, it got to the point where I need noise to study, which is why when I'm revising in the library, I sit beside the photocopier. :P Like most of you, I prefer to listen to instrumental music while reading – soft jazz in particular. |

But if its the fun type I'll usually play anime songs that I'm addicted to(dn angel opening, eyeshield 21 opening-dang dang, 2'nd bleach opening, Rozen Maiden Traumend opening, Lovely Complex opening) and probably some hip hop R &B songs |

| I really like to listen to music while listening to manga. I mean, even though it's my favorite manga I have this very short attention span. I keep stopping from my reading to go look for something else to do, but then I return to reading. When this happens I tend to read the same pages/panels over and over again and it really pisses the hell out of me! For some reason though, when I listen to music I tend to continue reading until I finish the volume. Actually I even listen to music while watching anime to prevent myself from sleeping... XD |
