Hikaru no Go - I didn't notice at all for all these years, but recently it just hits me, it came so suddenly, and I noticed how much I love Hikaru no Go. I love all the characters, and their bond with each other. I like the rivalry between Hikaru and Akira, it was done really well without going overboard. I love the drama about Sai. The thing I love the most would be Hikaru's growth, it's so awesome. It's great to see that there are people who appreciate Hikaru no Go too. <3

Ookiku Furikabutte - Best baseball anime in my opinion, the setting, the characters, and more importantly, the strategical games. I like how the main character is actually pretty weak, and the catcher helps him with his problem, that battery <3 I also love Tajima, shorty ace :3 There isn't a character that I don't like.. I really wish that the anime can continue..
Honobono Log - best slice of life short

Definitely will have to go with Eyeshield 21, Kuroko no basket, diamond no ace and area no kishi! Those are AMAZING sports animes.
Game over. If that's the case, I just have to play again.

Ippo all day long. We're talking about a manga that numbers chapters in the 1000's here and there's at least one mangaka from EVERY genre that pays respect to this living masterpiece of sweat and guts.

I love almost every sports anime I've seen or read but Ippo is the finest.

Major is second only because it's a bit inconsistent.

I still have yet to find a 10/10 sports anime. Mostly all the ones I've loved have an 8 or 9. ><

Hajime no Ippo. Great execution/animation, has humour, development, and all the good sports staples.

I'd rec Slam Dunk, but the animation is sadly, a little lacking.

(Those two being my favourites.)

ippo pacing is awfull

Yeah those two are at the top of my sports PTW list but I'm not gonna start them till I have lots of time to marathon. I don't mind poor animation as long as it's not derpy.

This is quite the though question, but I think I've got 3 that I really liked.

Major - This is the first sports anime I watched, and got me hooked on the genre.
Giant Killing - In general I'm just a huge football fan, I guess that's the main reason.
Capeta - I don't like race-type sports at all, but this anime just had a great story as in how you can turn out to be an awesome sportsman with the limited resources you have. Tho, this series was quite biased in some stages...

Not a huge fan of kuroko. But I still watch it as it airs. Why is that?
