Simple topic. This isnt about a game scaring you like you know a jumpy moment or two in like Resident Evil 2.
This is about a game with a moment in it that makes you feel truly uncomfortable while playing.
I only have one that springs to mind because I just finished it last week.
Dead Space 2:
At the end of Chapter 13 having to sit inside a machine and have your eyes held open. Then manually having to drive a needle through the pupil of your own eye. It's absolutely horrible to me and my eyes wouldnt stop watering when I was playing. I have a complex about things like that anyway so this was just a real shocker to me over any others.
I'll add more as I remember them, but have you any moments in any game that cause this sort of mindset?
I tried eating and playing dead space at the same time, and that didn't work out. I just felt sick and stopped playing. I forgot what part I was on in the game but I tried eating and playing it again and I was fine. I think it was only for that one part I somehow I forgot about.
Well, Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike allow you to choose your own image as a "spray" that you can vandalize an in-game wall with. Now, if some hooligan chooses to put a picture of a of some guys' dicks or something even worse right outside the spawn... ugh.
When I was a kid, I played Harry Potter: The Chamber of Secrets on PS1 and the part where you somtimes hear the big snake saying somthing through the walls always made me feel uncomfortable. I even turned off the volume cos I hated it that much xD!

hehe remember playing on one of the zombie mod servers slaying zombies behind barriers while the walls around me were all covered in porn.
In Silent hill 1, when the so called ''Teddy bears'' appeared and attacked me. i was so freaked out by this part when i played the game for the first time. I remember turning off the tv every time i played at this part :D
Haven't played it yet but the gameplay trailers for SMT Catherine feel disturbing.... with all them standing n talking sheeps and giant forks stabbing you to death.
Everything in Deadly Premonition. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to freaking steer the character, shoot, aim and stuff. Stupid game. Heh, well, not impossible, but it's pretty irritating to steer the character's movements. And not to mention the stupid camera! xD
I ahaven't played lots of games, but I did try quite a number of them...the only one that when gives me the creeps when I think about is my favourite one - Legacy of Kain!
Graphics unfortunately are pretty bad, but the story is the greatest ones of all games I've played...almost everything there gave me the thrills o.O
The sounds of water drops while you run around, the sounds of the souls and god knows what else in the Spectral Realm, the voices of the creature, sometimes (in hot situations) even my own steps :| Every thing!!!!!! NOT scary...just so....psycho! It soooo made a brain-soup out of my head, that I still get exited when I talk about it, makes me wanna play it again :3
I just recently played through Metal Gear Solid and went against Psycho Mantis. That fight was really cool and disturbing in a slight way. A shame that other games nowadays don't take that type of approach to boss battles.
There was this particular quest where you had to do something in this doctor's room and every time you went in it, it would freeze you. I guess I was failing to search something from this room and didn't realize so I was lost for a couple minutes. I kept looping around to this room numerous times. Finally, I decided to go super-detective mode and search EVERYWHERE. So I was in the corner in the doctor's room and I was looking at this corner and found whatever I needed. I turned around. WTFDATRUCK, DOCTOR FACE INFRONT OF ME WITH HOOK. FREAKING THE FUCK OUT. SHOTGUN HIS FACE. THROW CONTROLLER SOMEWHERE. TURN OFF GAME. DON'T PLAY BIOSHOCK FOR TWO WEEKS. I'm sure that's more than a 'jump.'
Doom 3.
There was this level where you were first introduced to the Mancubus (The large rocket launcher arm guys) Throughout the whole level, you would hear breathing that would gradually get louder and louder as you progressed through the level. I was paranoid so bad and was afraid of turning any corner. A long with the breathing, you were introduced the bumblebee babies in which then I didn't realize it until one got right into my face and then I shat another brick.
Yume Nikki is pretty disturbing for a game made from RPGMaker. My sister flipped out while watching me play when I activated an event and I had chills run down my spine in some areas.
Bioshock and System Shock 2 had some disturbing scenes like in System Shock 2 when you first encounter this female nipple cyborg thing. In Bioshock the part where you go into the sculpture's house.
The Cradle level from the third Thief game.
I want to get Nanashi no Game which looks really disturbing but it seems like you kinda need an understanding of Japanese to play it.
I was about to mention the DS2 scene before I even read the first post. Ha.
Across both Dead Space games, I've seen some fairly horrific stuff, yeah. But that... that was really not nice for me. It's like a psychological thing, because you're in control, it's almost difficult to bring yourself to do it. Good thing I nailed it (Or needled... lulz) first time.
The Ghast (I assume that is how you spell it) in Minecraft. Especially their original sounds. Also Max Payne, the levels that you had to follow the blood trails.
This. Never before (or since) in my life have I experienced something so terrifying. I had to quit out of concern for my mental health. Literally, even days after I stopped, I was noticeably jumpier.
Yume Nikki has some intense moments, as well. The entire game is one giant "WTF?". Most of it is not so much scary or disturbing as it is just weird.
One of the more disturbing moments I had was in a particular room that I will probably never forget. (spoilered for length, but I suppose it does also technically contain possible spoilers)
I wanted to explore this room, but it was filled to capacity with passive mobs (let me reiterate: passive mobs, that can't hurt you) that moved towards you, making it impossible to go anywhere. Now, in the game, you can get a knife. It kills things. So, I did just that. I pulled out my knife, and one by one started hacking through this crowd.
Sometime about halfway through, as the wailing screams of mob after mob resonated in my ears, thoughts began to occur to me. These things have done nothing to me, yet here I am, slaughtering them for the sake of seeing what's in this likely empty room. I noticed that now, rather than moving towards me, they were running away. And yet they still blocked my path, so I continued hacking away. Their screams, all the exactly the same, began to sicken me.
I realized that this was not the first time I'd butchered innocents on a whim. Every time a mob failed to respond to me, I'd just pull out my knife and stab it to try to get something from it, and every time it would just die, giving off that same stomach-churning scream. "Is this who I am?" I thought. " Is this who this character, this unassuming little girl, is? A psychopath?" I wondered just how many real people the girl might have killed.
Finally, after several minutes of slaughtering, I reached the end of the room. There was a curious design on the floor, but ultimately it proved useless. So I went back, only to find that these mobs, in their panic and terror, had once again blocked my path. I hacked my way back, but by now, I was addicted. I killed not just for the purpose of returning, but for the sake of eradicating the existences that so sickened me. After some time of violent rampage, I got bored of the bloodbath, and left.
It was more my own doing than the game's, and I was fully aware that in reality it was just code anyway, and yet I couldn't help but pity the poor, innocent souls that I had become so addicted to murdering.
... I'm not crazy, really! I just get really absorbed into games really easily. >.<
Also, when enemies sneak up on me in Minecraft, and suddenly appear in my face, I have a tendency to jump out of my skin. I should video capture it sometime, as it's quite hilarious. My hand jerks, pushing my mouse forward, and then I struggle to quickly regain control. The end result is the camera wildly going up and down. XD

O.o I... don't know what to say about that... awkward...
I finished Amnesia last weekend there. It's chilling yes but not bad enough for me to be really uncomfortable while playing. Only section that made me feel a bit on edge was maybe the prison but it wasnt too bad. Had worse anyway.
I started watching azuritereaction's Let's Play of LSD, expecting nothing. On the sixth video (or something like that), I get REALLY creeped out by that sun.
"If you feed me, Seymour, I can grow up big and strong!"
Oh god no I hate that statue. It stares into my soul. Ever since that haunted Majora Mask thing that damn thing is ever scarier.
Also i didnt think that dead space 2 was that scary had its moments. I actual thought those dinosaur like things that scream and run at you were funny and cute how they peek around corners, so adorable.
Anyone who has played the flash game Demonophobia should know that the whole game is messed up beyond recognition. If you haven't played it before, then all i'll say is this" being a Type IV Immortal is NOT a good thing.
I agree with that those games are realy disturbing. And those who created them comes with a message before you start playing that you should play with headphones for best experience and god it's realy scary.
