| It's a parasite named Leucochloridium paradoxum. It infects a snail's eyestalks and controls its mind, manipulating the snail to move to open areas so that it will be eaten by birds. This is how it continues its life cycle. it's very fitting symbolism for Makima. |

This explanaition contains spoilers, but if you want to know... In the Chainsaw Man Opening at 0:50, you can see Makima feeding Denji with a snail with green / colourful eyes. Snails with these colours are known to be infested by the parasyte "Leucochloridium paradoxum", which can control the creature that it's infesting. That's a reference to...
