| Kikyo was my favorite, I had watched it on TV many times and used to always get excited for the episode when Kikyo and Inuyasha first met or any other ones that featured her. I wanted Kikyo and Inuyasha to end up together in the end but too bad all my ships always sink. Kagome was ok, I didn't dislike her but I didn't exactly like her either. |
| I prefer Kagome but Kikyou was good too. Had no issues with the female characters in this series in general. |

| Kikyo dying was enough for her, I hate her personality when she was resurected. Kagome is cool, quite young but still cool. Like others said, Sango best girl. |

| Kikyo is one of the most frustrating characters ever, don't understand how anyone could've rooted for her over Kagome. She just wouldn't die and constantly walked around acting all angsty. On top of that, every time she pops back into the story, she stops the momentum of the show dead in its tracks. That said, as many others point out, Sango is the true answer. dat dead-even poll tho |
| I liked the real dead Kikyo a lot more than not dead reincarnation Kikyo. It is quite tragic what happen to her and Inuyasha, though. Kagome's was good, I liked her. Her dynamic with Inuyasha worked well in a more humorist way, where Kikyo was a more serious one. Also, can we take a moment to appreciate how well Rumiko makes her characters? They're always a blast to watch. |

| I hated Kikyo, I hated her more than anything. But as the series went along, and I grew up along with it, I saw that Kikyo was more relatable, and more beautiful, than I had originally thought. In the end... I still prefer Kagome :P |

| I haven't watched this show since I was a little kid but I remember always thinking that Kikyou had more class than Kagome. But since Kagome was the main girl I supported her more and fucking hated it when Kikyou went in between her and Inuyasha lol. So, Kagome. |

| I just had to chime in on this debate because I have VERY strong feelings about this argument. The correct answer is obviously Kagome. She is Inuyasha's true soulmate because she truly accepts Inuyasha for who he is. Kikyo wants Inuyasha to become human in order to be with her despite the fact that she knows (as Inuyasha makes clear on several occasions) that being half-demon is important to his identity. So much so that in fact he wants to become fully demon. Kagome truly loves Inuyasha for the half-demon that he is. She loves him unconditionally unlike Kikyo. Kagome always treats Kikyo with respect and is very understanding of Inuyasha and Kikyo's relationship (more than most people would be) whereas Kikyo is pretty fucking rude to Kagome on several occasions. I don't hate Kikyo at all. I think she's integral to the plot and she represents Inuyasha's past that serves to illustrate just how much Kagome is able to help Inuyasha grow...BUT how on earth anyone can prefer Kikyo to Kagome is absolutely beyond me. Kagome is so likeable and endearing in contrast to Kikyo. Inuyasha x Kagome forever. Sorry for the rant, I have a lot of feelings on the subject. P.S. I also really like Sango...and Rin |
