So, there are two show's airing this season that are actually worth the watch

One is House of the Five Leaves
It's about a out of work samurai becoming associated with organized crime

The other is The Tatami Galaxy
It's about a college student and his journey to find himself

Anyways the largest American anime licensing company Funimation in it's venture toward bringing anime to the American people through legitimate and professional means via the internet has taken it upon itself to stream the two shows on their website http://www.funimation.com/ . The two shows along with being far greater than any other childish kid's shows about high school kids saving the earth or losing their virginity airing this season are available for stream free of charge on the home page of the website. The most recent episodes unlike the FMA brotherhood stream that Funimation provides will be available just 1 HOUR AFTER THEIR RELEASE IN JAPAN SUBBED AND STREAMING FREE. Download purchase is available for those who wish to own their own private copy of the episodes but to just watch the show all you need to do is watch the show's here and you will be supporting the creation of amazing anime. The MAL community makes up a huge portion of the anime fans in America I implore you to watch the shows through a company that pays the creators for the rights to air their work here.

I was so excited when I saw these two on their website, the two series I most looked forward to this season. Funimation just went up in my book :)
Also, I wouldnt consider MAL the majority of anime fans. I dont know anyone IRL who uses it.

Awww :'(

I don't usually watch streams but I was going to watch House of Five Leaves on their site. The dreaded "this video is not available in your area" message came up. Oh well.

I'm eating these shows up like a delicious chocolate dessert. I love Funimation so much for picking these up (and presumably planning to release them on DVD). Now if they could keep this up and release some more Yuasa and/or noitaminA titles, I'd be just ecstatic.

I thought Funi streams worked in Canada, too. That's odd. Oh, well - I've also heard that there are plenty of workarounds floating around on the internet (proxies, etc.), and the subs usually get ripped by some group later anyway.

The Earth King has invited you to Lake Laogai. You will be honored to accept his invitation.

I dunno. Maybe they work in some provinces but not in mine? /sad panda. But in any case, I've still been able to find all of the episodes for download. Just have to wait a little longer than I would have if I was streaming from Funi. I could use a proxy I guess.

It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.

ya these two shows are imo definitely the best new shows of the season definitely the best funimation has picked up in quite a while. i love the masterful and original artwork they both employ. especially tatami galaxy i'm so gonna watch it again when it's dubbed just so i can suck in the artwork all that much more the dialog is so imposing my eyes hardly have a chance to leave the subtitles

and ya i guess if you dont live in america the american licensing company would be less important to you but whats really cool is how quickly the shows are up "less than an hour after the release in Japan" is fucking awesome. no waiting around for bs fansubs. i guess they kinda learned after their fail with fma brotherhood to get with the program and have their shit ready to go up faster than fansubs possibly can, and not let themselves get behind.

Hahahahahahaha, BS fansubs... have you even seen steam subs? it's like they let a preschooler do the QC. Oh boy streams, you where just remarking how awesome the art is, but you wanna watch it in stream? are you retarded? Might as well wait for BS fansubs that actually will release it in a decent quality.

I'm in Canada and funimation works just fine for me. I'm in Quebec and my provider is Videotron if that makes a difference.

Sometimes they use Hulu to host videos posted on their website, which makes those videos unavailable to Canadians. Just use their Youtube channel, I think every show there is available in Canada except one or two.
Funimation subs are fine. There actually a lot better that the majority of fansub groups, not to mention they're subbing these two shows an hour after release. I can't think of any groups that do releases that fast for a normal show. As long as it's readable, coherent English, it's fine, but to me the speed is what's most important.
