Yo.... Never did I imagine this title would be this FIRE!!!!!! This is going to be one of the underated one isn't it? Quality so good, great direction, great writing, great comedy, but bc most MAL users are middle-schooler who only watch the most mainstream battle shounen, nobody would watch this.... Yo, there's Watanare's 5EPs FIRE sequels, and now this!!? 2026 started of with absolute bangers!!!!!!!

Honestly, I started episode 1 without much expectation. The art style felt very atypical at first, and in general I tend to avoid anything idol-related like the plague because it’s often pretty cringe. But since I had loved K-Pop Demon Hunters and I’m a fan of music and K-pop anyway, I figured I had nothing to lose. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely love the overall atmosphere, and especially the comic-book vibe, which is clearly the show’s strongest point: it’s very funny, fast-paced, and never drags. It even reminded me a bit of Gintama’s energy, which made me really happy. The visuals are also gorgeous, with a subtle ’80s touch in the character design, especially in the eyes. So far, it’s a solid 10/10 for me: it’s extremely enjoyable to watch, never boring for a second, super dynamic, and even the songs are really nice. Honestly, a huge favorite.

Love the quirkiness and there's already massive potential here (romance with likeable leads, possible problems with idol culture if these two go further they might have to hide it). Very good directing work.

Started like, very very good! Liked the CGI, way more polished than expected. The MC is likeable, the idol looks quite relatable in a way and also the potential is there for anything. Hope they do something similar to Ririsa 2.5 S2 lol

The female protagonist is such a mood, her reactions are hilarious. Tamon is a lot different from what I'd expected, but his gloomy side is super funny and relatable too. Utage is living every fan's dream, but she's genuine in her feelings of supporting both sides of Tamon and their dynamic is surprisingly wholesome and sweet. Looking forward to seeing more of their growing relationship, though I hope it won't go too fast. I also hope we'll be able to see more of the other idol members as well. They have all of the most stereotypical personalities of an idol group, but I'm sure their idol personalities are mostly facades as well, so it'll be interesting to explore more of that. On a quick side note, I'm surprised by how good the CGI is, especially compared to Wandance. JC Staff obviously poured a lot of effort and love into this episode, which is nice to see. The ED visuals are really cute too, especially the part with Utage and Tamon dancing!

Tamon Kun Tamon kun! The feeling of meeting your oshi irl is something else. I get the kinoshita fangirling so hard and her expressions were so on point. But this was a nice first episode, animations, art , cgi all were great especially during the performance, great adaptation for an idol based anime. Hope they keep it consistent through out, it will be a treat. Looking forward to the next episode of kinoshitas idol housekeeper journey.

Im no stranger to supporting idols and I'll say this show so far does a nice showing of how serious some people can take it. Im curious how this show will get handled, maybe go down the whole scandal drama type of route or what not. Cool she was able to accept him even after seeing his real self or I suppose his other side. Some fans would just stop supporting there idol if they saw them like that. Nice start curious to see where it goes, They got Shinobu's VA for the mc too I recognised that voice anywhere.

I didn't know anything about this, and when the boy band started right at the beginning. I thought, this is going to be a drop. I'm pleasantly surprised on how much I liked it. I love a good romcom and I think this is heading in that direction. Can't wait for the next episode.

Looks promising so far. I like Tamon but I'm curious about the other guys in the band. Are their real selves all different from their stage personas too, do they know what Tamon is really like, do they all get along, etc. I guess we'll find out.

We are in a golden age of shoujo oh my god what a premiere, it’s gonna take a lot to top that for me. Finally got around to watching it and I was just blown away. It’s basically an unproblematic Tsubaki-chou with incredible production values and two very loveable leads. Might seem like it’s a shallow romance, but there’s a LOT of opportunity for them to explore the toxicity of the idol industry, the pressure that UA/young idols feel to conform and play a persona as well as showing a girl go from liking an idealized version of her idol to truly loving him for who he really is. We saw a little of that already in this episode in the second half where Utage realizes she finds the cute “helpless” version of Tamon attractive as well. Tamon is such a sweetheart as is Utage, I was kicking my feet in the air for every interaction they had and can’t wait for more. I got so sad seeing those PTSD flashbacks where Tamon was thinking about his manager who doesn’t want him to be himself. Having to play a role and never being able to relax from such a young vulnerable age is so difficult, not to mention how toxic some fanbases can be.. really excited to see where this goes. That last 5 minutes is living so rent free in my head 😭 “I’m helpless without you” HELP I LOVE THEM

Both gloomy pink creatures who are in a band, bocchi and tamon are literally twins 😭😭😭 Looks great so far. We got saori hayami as the female lead which is cool. It's not like she's never voiced a non-calm character but it's still rare to see her voice somebody like this which is cool. Animation good, music's great. Good start overall.

I don't think the VA matches the female lead all too well, hardly matters though, since I won't be watching any further. Vicariously living through another is just not that funny, thought it would at least get a little laugh out of me when they met and interacted, but the dynamic doesn't really interest me either. Dropped.
@GakutoDeathGlare Where exactly does the voice actor not fit in? I think it's perfect!

@Tomoya26 It's just personal preference, she can go quite low in tone which I didn't think fitted with this character, especially when she first told Tamon off. Doesn't help that I've heard her so many times over the years, the VA.

This is one of my favorite ongoing manga, so I am elated that it’s getting the superstar treatment it deserves especially because shojo anime (by which I mean manga from girls’ magazines, not necessarily the romance genre) rarely gets even a half-decent budget… Like you guys have no idea how huge this is for me

Surprisingly, I ended up liking this anime. I really enjoy the “secret relationship” kind of concept. Maybe it hasn’t fully reached that point yet, but anime with this setup, where the heroine could be exposed for being close to a famous idol, would be really satisfying to watch😹 Another thing I noticed is the subtle criticism toward the entertainment industry, especially idol agencies. We all know idol agencies tend to have very strict rules, particularly regarding privacy and personal lives. The anime seems to hint at how some agencies can become overly controlling, not just during performances but even in the artists’ private lives. I understand that it’s meant to protect the brand image, but honestly, it still feels quite unethical to me.

Well, seems like J.C. Staff put everyone with talent on this instead of OPM. And the budget was more than five bucks per episode which is probably the critical factor here.
@uselessDM jc staff is the studio, bandai namco is the production bro, and what they did in opm 3 is actually smart, why would you make an effort on an established IP, madhouse will get the credit regardless they made s3 a bit better than s2, at the end of the day, it's a company that needs money, fans will eat opm 3 regardless which they did, japanese fans did, there's zero whining in Japan about opm 3, japan is their main audience and main income, overseas opinions doesn't matter anyway on this episode, plain jane is actually plain this time, tho I wanted fmc to be a glasses braid baddie, right now more interested in the friend with bob cut, I can already see she's gonna be paired with one of the members of the idol group

What an outstanding start to the winder season! The premise is fun, the characters are charming in a weird way (or weird in a charming way?), and the production values were a lot higher than I could have hoped. I think I had a silly grin on my face throughout the entire episode; I will definitely be looking forward to this each week.

Such a feast for the eyes. I'm genuinely so thankful. MY QUEEN UTAGE IS HERE OMG I LOVE HER SO MUCH. SHE REMINDS ME OF MY TEENAGE SELF HAHAHAHAHA. GLOOMYHARA TOO AHHHH SO SILLY I LOVE HIM.
