| We’re back, and not just that, our guy Ota’s back too, and the man hasn’t missed a beat. I’m like 99% sure that entire sequence at the start of part B was his work, which is wild because that was a straight two minutes of pure unfiltered Ota. Part A wasn’t slacking either though, don’t get it twisted. The lighting was on point, and that Red Roc from Luffy near the end looked so damn good. Honestly, a solid return after that long two week break. |

| akhiro ota brilliance! i'm so glad luffy did a red roc in base form too. they even went crazy with that punch by atlas, even side characters getting main character level animation. bonney beating up that marine was hilarious though. |

| If we need to wait 2-3 weeks for every episode to have this kind of quality, I say let the staff take as many breaks like that as they want! This finally felt like a return to the pacing and development of One Piece pre-Dressrosa, the OG series before it caught up with the manga pacing and started plummeting in quality to maintain a weekly output off of an additional 5-10 min of animation. For that, I'm grateful. Let's see how long the recuperation works for the pacing with the episodes down the line. |
