Webtoon novelist Plutus's Korean manhwa adaptation, produced by a Chinese animation company, along with Chinese/Japanese sub/dub, what kind of world are we living in to see much of Asia unified through anime?

DAOKO's Japanese OP is quite frankly OK, though TOMOKO's Chinese OP is the better of the two.

If this show seems familiar from a "different" standpoint, look no further than Tearmoon Empire, with a pretty similar aesthetic about a princess having to be "reincarnated" herself to avoid calamity, though this 2017 work came out long before that. And what's the calamity you ask? It's treason against her own father using dark magic, though this is the restart for the empress consort of Princess Athanasia de Alger Obelia to avoid that fated future of hers by overseeing the events in the Ruby Palace.

And amidst the pack, one maid had the better idea to try and steal the empress consort's valuables, though dealing with Athanasia thinking that she's just a normal kid who knows no better, just resumes her bankrolling off the palace, and the lil' princess acting her smarts when it comes to the crunch, though it's her memories who's doing all of the work to change her future, one event at a time, despite not being able to use magic. And in the eyes of the King, there's just no need to report trivial matters like that.

It's the same story with XAI's Japanese ED and Shayi's Chinese ED, where the latter is the better of the two.

It's been a long while since I've watched purely Chinese animation, so this isn't really bad at all. Regardless, it's a good start.

I watched Japanese dub version, the animation is good and voice is adorable.
About the story, I didn’t read novel version in the beginning part, so I don’t know if it’s the same, but it’s a bit different from webtoon. I mean, the story is the similar but order is different. I need to know what novel reader think about anime version.
There is also eng sub ver on Muse Asia tho.

It's hard to choose between Japanese and Chinese audio but in the end I choose Chinese audio because the lip sync is a little bit better in this language, this is on top of the fact that this was made by Chinese studio, though it's clear that this is intended to be a bilingual anime.

The anime itself reminds me of Tearmoon Empire but to be fair, this anime's source was written before Tearmoon's source.

I started watching and was just shocked to realize...I've read/completed the manhwa a while ago but didn't realize it till after the OP.

Putting that aside: It's a cute start but if I had to compare it to my memory of the pacing in the manhwa...it seems fast....but slow at the same time? I'm glad they aired eps 1-3 back-to-back basically...

One thing that's odd though is the description (and I thought the manhwua mentioned this too) says she's "isekai'd" that's why she "knows the future" but the anime is saying she just has the ability to "see the future".

A weird discrepancy that they seem to go back and forth on because even Anthy mentions she's a "supporting character" even with the odd emphasis that she keeps having "nightmares about her fate"
I wonder if anime-only's will notice this, cuz it kinda bothers me.

@Ikano They changed the plot to her having future vision instead of being a reincarnated. So it's kinda different but the main plot points still happen. They're also adding scenes from the novel and OG scenes which I appreciate because it makes the pace much better. I also appreciated the teases to future characters and expanded roles for others. So far it looks pretty promising.

Why did they change the story so much? In the manhwa she gets reincarnated into a novel she read and originally athy gets kiIIed by her father, being falsely accused for poisoning jeanette + she should originally know that Jeanette isn't actually claude's daughter. In this version she is just a literal CHILD that gets to see her future through a magical book which makes it so childish. Idk what it is but this isn't wmmap maybe a leak from a parallel universe

@ughgood I've only read the Manhwa as well, but even the manhwa wasn't the original, the web novel was. If I had to guess, they may be following the web novel more for the adaptation. Either that or they are adding anime only changes.

Glad it's in Japanese (because just personally I find it more emotive to listen to 😅). Also seems like a fun and cute start.

It's one of the future-seeing or time-loop type shows. It was cool how she changed the future by saving her maid from the armed thief.

I personally disliked how much more goofy it feels than the comic and that some of the plot changed. But I do like the animation a lot.

@ughgood Well the donghua is based on the novel and not manhwa actually! The novel has way more detail and enough info in order to make a longer scene!

Glad they (mostly) dropped the isekai garbage. It wouldn't have made any damn sense.

Almost didn't watch it though after the opening was pure reverse harem garbage, but so far it's been a decent story.

Although not a big fan of the "I don't have magic" also "I can see the future.

This show would've completely slipped under the radar if it wasn't for random podcasts, never heard of the original story and by the sounds of it that may be a boon. It sounds like source readers are a little disappointed. Regardless, Gorgeous looking animation, Feels like every season now has at least one donghua to look out for and i'm here for it.

Well the episode wrapped up nicely but the first 6-7 minutes were an absolute shitshow and it was impossible to follow along but overall the plot seems interesting, and the animation is very pretty so ima ride this one out.

Pretty good 1st episode.

However, I can't decide to watch in Japanese or in Chinese. I like to see a series in its original language, but I'm not used to Chinese and had some issues:

- the lip syncs better to Chinese
- but the subs on CR are made with the Japanese in mind.

@Alfocrack Does that mean whomever wrote the anime script well....they didn't proof read it well enough? Because some of the dialogue still implies she isekai'd ....unless the english subs are wrong which isn't totally not a possibility either I guess...especially since this is airing with both Chinese & Japanese dub

@ughgood According to comments on this Reddit post:https://www.reddit.com/r/OtomeIsekai/comments/1nsxz1p/who_made_me_a_princess_donghua_are_is_now_on/

The changes were made for:

- Making the content more age-friendly for a targeted 14+ audience (execution changed to banishment)

- To make the father less hateable (some readers say they still could not accept the father's redemption because of his initial tyrant behaviour)

I read the manwha, and I really liked 80% of the story.

Things that I didn't like was the ending,
and I REALLY HATED the premise that it was an isekai.

Because if the isekai didn't happen, the story of the supposed novel doesn't make a lick of sense. I remember thinking that it was so dumb.
So throughout reading the manhwa I always thought how it would be better had it was simply a reincarnation story or a future prediction story.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that THEY DID IT in the anime.
So yeah, I'm happy with this change.
My wish was answered.

Now I hope the anime can at least have a slightly better conclusion for the ending.

I hated the king, I didn’t understand why he hated his wife, and I hope the princess grows up soon — even though she’s really cute. Lilian is amazing!

I'm wondering if the king is trying to protect her from something. Otherwise his disdain is perplexing. They said he even hated her mother. Why have her as a consort? Very odd.

Love it so much what can i say, this manhwa was the first i read and among my fav, the illustration of manhwa is gorgeous but so does this anime. I can't complain since it was very long time and i already forgot the plot so it felt refreshing to watch this. The voice actor nailed it i imagine athy to be this kind and the Claude Va also what i have in mind. Hope everyone watch this

and i can watch legally on museasia. Thank youuuu
