It could be categorized as a horror game, though it's not scary, just some shocking moments, and that's it. It's mostly horror because of its brutality.
It's my favorite video game, and everyone should play them. Each game gets better than the previous

Saya no Uta, Sayonara o Oshiete (Only fan Translation), Wonderful Everyday (90% censored on steam, DLC or full game on JASTUSA), Tsui no Sora Remake (Only fan translation), Chaos;Head NoaH, Chaos;Child, Muv-Luv (once it gets to Extra and Alternative), The House in Fata Morgana, MOON. (Only fan translation, also for some reason was the first thing the writer of Charlotte and Angel Beats! wrote for just a weird starting point considering everything else he's ever made), Higurashi When They Cry, Umineko When They Cry, Ciconia When They Cry, YOU and ME and HER: A Love Story, Tsukihime, Fate Stay/Night Heavens Feel route, Cartagra, Kara no Shoujo, Nanairo Reincarnation, Milk Inside A bag of Milk, Milk Outside a Bag of Milk, you can find more on VNDB if you search the horror tag - just be warned a lot of games are also heavy (like Wonderful Everyday) on sexual content in the uncensored versions (if there is a censored) being a big part of the horror (if you're uncomfortable with certain things you can make an account and turn on spoilers for specific tags so you know if a game has that content) as well as what you'd usually expect with gore and such. Probably also some RPG maker games but I'd say When They Cry, Fata Morgana and Chaos;Head are the safest/closets options here although the weird text stuff is also something Wonderful Everyday loves doing a lot

Yeah games like that are pretty common actually the anime done that genre/style oddly well.

Haven’t played it myself but Saya no uta I think it’s called is a popular one

I gotta confirm this. Saya no Uta is the most disgusting game I've ever played, I couldn't even manage to finish it. Even though, it is still very well written and the soundtrack and scenes are pretty immersive, then if you have the guts go for it

I’m still amazed the lengths Studio Clover went to emulate that sort of pixel art style RPG Maker aesthetic, smack dab in the middle of normal Dress Up Darling animation.

I remember reading the manga and panels of Coffin were just more panels of the main story. What an amazing effort to tell right away it was a game appearing on the anime.

You can play doki doki it's exactly in that style you have to play it several times to see the real ending it will take you 7 hours and will stay in your head for the rest of your life

The game style reminded me of Ender Lilies. It isn't really a horror game with the visual novel style, but everything else is identical. Don't believe me?

I loved the new episode and the horror game was really amazing. reminded me of corpse party, ddlc, and danganronpa to name a few games that are similar. im so excited for the next episode
