| Pretty boring episode. A lot of yelling, Ichigo playing the goody-good shoe protagonist perfectly to his his own detriment and a pretty lame setup of the weakest followers against the strongest Sternenritter. All the while a literally gutless Ukitake is the lifeline of all worlds... huh... |

Oh, I thought Yhwach chose whom to remove the Quincy power from during Auswählen and Ishida was not chosen. Was there a scene showing what happened to Ishida during Auswählen? Or, did they mention what happened?

There's no scene because there's nothing to animate. They just get sick and slowly die without their powers. Ishida was immune for some unknown reason. Even Yhwach doesn't know why he's alive, this is the reason he recruited him and made him his successor. To keep him close and study him. |

| Episode 4 is by far the worst so far. It’s essentially just Ichigo and Uryu repeating the same lines to each other over and over: Ichigo says, “I’m going to stop Yhwach,” and Uryu counters with, “I am here to stop you.” That’s it. That’s the entire exchange, stretched out across the episode. Meanwhile, Ichigo’s friends continue to be completely useless. They’re so outclassed by their opponents that it’s almost comical. It makes the poor writing stand out even more because, despite being severely outnumbered and outmatched, they miraculously survive without any real consequences. There’s no tension, no stakes, and absolutely no believability to their continued presence in this battle. Yhwach’s Almighty ability is another major failure in this episode. He’s supposed to be able to see all possible futures, yet he somehow doesn’t foresee anything beyond Ichigo slashing the Soul King? It’s lazy and inconsistent, completely undermining the supposed omnipotence of his power. Yes, the animation is still good, and the OST is fine, but none of that can save the plot, which is severely lacking. The suspension of disbelief is completely nonexistent at this point. Even Urahara and his group, who are known for their quick thinking and resourcefulness, are just sitting around doing nothing. They acknowledge that Ukitake can’t hold out for long, yet they don’t take any meaningful action. It’s frustrating and feels like a waste of potentially great characters. Overall, this episode was a major letdown. The visuals and music can’t cover for the glaring issues in storytelling and character utilization, making it hard to stay invested in what’s happening. |

orihime and Chad along with ganju were just standing there when ishida arrived they could have tried to stop ishida so that ichigo can deal with yhwach.

| @pranavcognito Why are they even there? They cannot fight against this enemy yet they aren't getting injured. Ganju's sand ability was so weak considering all these guys can fly then they just look down on them from high. Ichigo's crew should all be dead and all the soul reapers who should be able to help in this situation are standing around watching Ukitake die....this shit is bad. |

| Fight scenes were cool but the plot is really losing me here. I really liked the first season of tybw and I liked the second season too. But this third season has just kinda been a slog so far. It feels like the stakes should be high but I don't feel any urgency. All four episodes so far are just stepping stones to drag out the killing of the Soul King. I really hope things get interesting soon because this season has kinda been a disappointment to me. |
| That was a good episode, but I’m still not feeling the gravity of Ishida’s betrayal for a few reasons. First, we don’t have a full understanding of why he’s doing what he is doing. Second, I have a strong feeling that Ichigo isn’t completely done for the rest of this arc. The episode is called the betrayer, but I didn’t get as much insight as I would’ve liked. (7.5/10) |
| Ichigo not overpowering Ishida at this point of the story is nuts. Also, what's the point of Sado, Inoue & the other fella being there? As if they could ever 3v4 the Sternritter lol |
