| I already looked into it awhile back. Not including sequels, movies, remakes, and OVAs of pre-existing franchises... (Additionally, I'll wait til these finish airing so that I can marathon them, I also don't watch PVs) Most looking forwards to Virgin Punk, I loved stuff like A Kite, I just hope it lives up to the hype I have for it in my head and isn't watered down. Other ones I added to my PTW and some thoughts on each: Lazarus: COVID vaccine the animation, jokes aside, seems like an in interesting concept for a show. Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san: I like ecchi anime and has an interesting set-up, just hope it delivers and is also entertaining outside of just SEX. Danjo no Yuujou wa Seiritsu suru? (Iya, Shinai!!): I'm hoping for a complex love polygon sort of deal, it might not deliver on that, but would be great if it does, certainly has the setup for a good one. Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru: Modern fantasy anime slop, but sometimes I'm in the mood for that and has some cute girls, so why not give it a try? Witch Watch: Setup reminds me of Zero no Tsukaima, where a witch/mage girl has a human as their familiar. Show looks cute. Isshun de Chiryou shiteita noni Yakutatazu to Tsuihou sareta Tensai Chiyushi, Yami Healer toshite Tanoshiku Ikiru: Absurd title, but medical anime can be underrated, curious how it mixes with the fantasy stuff. Kijin Gentoushou: Looks pretty interesting, like a dark historical action anime with a cute bandaged girl. Kowloon Generic Romance: Really unique setting and interesting premise, really curious about this one. Shiunji-ke no Kodomotachi: Looks like a silly and fun romcom, cute looking girls too. Your Forma: The COVID vax has microchips the animation, jokes aside, as with Lazarus, interesting premise. Summer Pockets: Looks awesome, reminds me of the VN adaptations the industry used to do, looks really good and awesome setting. Kakushite! Makina-san!!: Robot girls are bae, looks fun and lewd and reminds me of other anime that I've enjoyed. Aru Majo ga Shinu Made: I love witch girl anime and this one looks amazing, hope it delivers. Kanpekisugite Kawaige ga Nai to Konyaku Haki sareta Seijo wa Ringoku ni Urareru: Looks really interesting and love the premise, looking forwards to this one. Zatsu Tabi: That's Journey: One of the ones I'm looking forwards to the most this upcoming season, looks super cool and love the travel theme. Rock wa Lady no Tashinami deshite: Looks pretty fun, prestigious girls playing rock music. Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de: Love me a good detective series, looks interesting. Mono: Fun camera theme, and something about this one just looks really inviting to me. Ninja to Koroshiya no Futarigurashi: Looks chaotic and fun! Apocalypse Hotel: Really interesting premise and theme, curious to see how it plays out, one of my most anticipated ones of the season. Maebashi Witches: Cute looking idol anime. Ballpark de Tsukamaete!: Call me weird, but this is one of the highlights of the 2025 Spring season for me, I love the idea and am weirdly really excited about this show. Princession Orchestra: Idol mahou shoujo or something? Looks good, I hope it has many episodes, love absurdly long anime and this looks like it could be one. Uchuujin MuuMuu: Silly premise, cute art style, potential to be a lot of fun. Twins Hinahima: Interesting premise, and the synopsis is a bit ominous, curious about this one. All in all, lots of great looking anime this upcoming season~! |

| Looking at the list a little more closely, my "very interested" list still remains the same. I put quite a lot of shows in the "check out 1 episode" list, though. I count 18 of these this season, which is way too many for me... One of them being Moonrise. I'm surprised by only one person here mentioning this sci-fi original from Wit Studio. Granted, it's dropping on Netflix... Serafos said: Spring season is soon here. My weekly schedule looks like this atm: Not checking out Zatsu Tabi: That's Journey? | The only shows I’m watching seasonally is Devil May Cry and maybe Lazarus. There’s also more im interested in, but personally I wanna wait until the seasons over before I try them out, just out of fear that they might end up being complete trash or terrible adaptations in the end. |

| Alright, I'll issue an update now that we're almost at the end of the second week into the season and into the month of April. My initial large list of 19 potential new series may have been a tad optimistic and reaching/overshooting a bit. Yet some series I said originally that I may not even get to trying but instead opted for sampling as much as possible, so that's something. I've watched at least the first episode (or 10 - 15 mins. of it in a few cases as that was enough to know) of everything which aired so far, with one exception due to availability issues, and may have to revise a bit. A number of them I "dropped" already from episode one (placed in quotation marks as until I add them to my list, I don't really consider them formal drops in the MAL sense, but just checking something new out for as little as a few minutes). Some of them two episodes were enough to know already that they're going to be worthwhile for me to continue, come what may, and in two cases that was discerned after even just one episode. So now I can break it down further from my previously shared aspirational list now that I have a better grasp and idea, and it's: Series I definitely intend to continue through to completion: - Kowloon Generic Romance - Apocalypse Hotel - Kijin Gentoushou - Ballpark de Tsukamaete! Series I'll probably end up continuing with yet need to give another episode or two to assuage doubts before adding: - Aru Majo ga Shinu Made - Your Forma - Rock is a Lady's Modesty - Lazarus - The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei: He Just Solves All the Mysteries - Summer Pockets - Uchuujin MuuMuu Series I'll probably drop but am giving another episode to confirm before doing so: - Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers - Zatsu Tabi: That's Journey Series I dropped fast after one episode or partway through the first episode: - The Dinner Table Detective - The Beginning After the End - Ninja to Koroshiya no Futarigurashi Series which haven't aired yet: - Mono - Teogonia Series I'd sure as hell like to start watching yet can't as it isn't available anywhere apart from the original raws (not subbed/translated): - Miru: Watashi no Mirai And Serafos, I would surely like to hear your confirmed continues and/or quick drops as well, if you're far enough along in getting a feel for the new season. |

Serafos said: I think that Ninja has some potential. It kinda reminds me of both Dragon Maid and Jashin-chan. It doesn't come across to me as a bad series. It strikes me as one where the creators have a strong concept and vision for what they want to do and it has and will further go on to have a strong visual identity. Actually, it's a fairly rare event for me to think a series is out and out "bad" rather than just "not for me". In the case of Ninja, it's just a little too zany for my taste. I don't mind it having some comedy and fantasy elements, but I thought the overall tone was going to be something closer to a down to Earth Slice of Life than more of a surreal/gag-type series. In the case of The Dinner Table Detective, I just can't stand the brand of comedy or "humor" where people are constantly screaming as if louder = funnier. Of the three series I mentioned, only The Beginning After the End is one where I'd say my dropping of the show is more tied into criticisms of it itself rather than just a reflection of personal preference. And even then, I don't care about the animation shortcomings or adaptation fidelity that I hear some people chattering about. More like it's just a generic fantasy clone, at least in its "beginning" episode, of what could already be seen as a generic (at least in setting) fantasy (Mushoku Tensei) and therefore not worth my time/energy when I have at least many more hundreds of series to watch. Serafos said: So far, I haven't dropped a single show, but the season is still quite fresh. Keep us posted. I was surprised by some of your drops from last season, like Medalist. That series received a lot of praise and I thought it would be more your speed. |

The comedy of the show just felt out of place imo. I expected it to be a bit more serious. And Ave Mujica was just way too dark and depressive. Not a big fan of that type of music anime. Right now, Hana-Doll*: Reinterpretation of Flowering is the only drop worthy candidate simply by the fact that the availability of the show is so poor atm. Almost no one is watching it atm. Maybe I'm going to binge-watch it later, though. This season is so stacked anyway, so it doesn't hurt if I skip one show for now. |

I'm not caught up on Yuru Camp so this is like the perfect interlude and distraction in the meantime before eventually making my way back to it. And that college girls' gourmet club eating anime? For some reason when I compiled my list originally in this thread topic and every time I looked at the seasonal chart and even heard mention and reference to it up until today that series' existence for whatever reason just completely eluded my consciousness. It's like I blocked it out. I think subconsciously I must have seen some image or line of text associated with it and wrote it off as some basic school or lesbian romcom series and it didn't even register in my awareness after that. Some series' posters and synopses pop out weeks or months in advance and stick with me and others it's very easy to keep forgetting about the existence of. But now I'm wondering if this should be a late addition or at least one worth trying out. Maybe depending on how many other series I end up dropping. |

| My highlights of the season are shaping up to be: Once Upon a Witch's Death A Ninja and an Assassin Under One Roof The Gorilla God's Go-To Girl The Shiunji Family Children Mono Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray (Didn't watch the parent story. Just randomly started watching and enjoyed it way too much) The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 (continuation) I like as well, but to a lesser degree: The Beginning After the End I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level Season 2 Still not sure: Rock Is a Lady's Modesty Apocalypse Hotel Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World Season 2 (it's finally going to continue) I'm a bit disappointed by (but I'm still watching): The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom Spring 2025 is looking quite good. Very lighthearted, but I like it that way π₯° |

| 16 shows currently, with more to try. I'm finding so many interesting shows that I'll have to start cutting back a little. Must Watch: Kowloon Generic Romance (adult romance, some mystery, pretty characters and art) Anne Shirley (very fun main character, cheery and wholesome) Apocalypse Hotel (strange but cute post-apocalypse, need to see where this goes) Mono (Yuru Camp successor, funny and breezy) Will probably continue: Ballpark de Tsukamaete! (simple slice-of-life, varied cast) Aru Majo ga Shinu Made (charming main character, positive energy) Ninja to Koroshiya no Futarigurashi (goofy slice-of-life, surprisingly violent, which is interesting) Witch Watch (goofy comedy romance, charm might not last long) Will probably drop: Shin Samurai-den Yaiba (great animation, but the old-fashioned loud shounen shtick is a little grating) Food for the Soul (plain CGDCT about cooking) Zatsu Tabi (just a dull Japan travelogue, not cutting it this season) Moonrise (1 episode; not hooked, but still too early) Dropped: The Beginning After the End (2 episodes; poor animation, uninteresting story, even if I get that it's still starting up) Takamine-san (1.5 episodes; unsexy, dumb and obnoxious) Still haven't tried yet (mostly availability issue): Lazarus, Gundam Gquuuuuuuuux, The Dinner Table Detective, Kijin Gentoushou, Rock is a Lady's Modesty Sequels/Continued: The Apothecary Diaries S2 Shoushimin Series S2 Wind Breaker S2 Bye Bye, Earth S2 (will probably drop) |
