| The L and Light foot massage moment was weird, but this and the moment in the rain really made me like L's character more. Shows that he has emotions and actually cares about Light as his friend. This just makes his death more depressing Also, was Light actually sad and both his personalities were switching, or was it just an act? |
| This episode was shorter but I had mixed feelings. I don't know what to feel because from the beginning L has shown signs that he will die soon, even said his farewell to Light, but I didn't expect him to die when this case would be solved very soon. I thought L was going to write his own name on the Death Note when he asked Watari about the book but it turns out Light's plan is more bad than that. Rem only wants to protect Misa but I also don't know what the impact is for Misa for Rem's actions? I swear I don't care about Misa and from the beginning it was because of her that the case became more complicated, she honestly had to die but even if she didn't die I didn't care either. The most important thing is that I want Light to get the punishment he deserves for what he did. Btw I also thought the scene of L washing Light's feet was a bit strange but reading the early replies on this forum made me understand, and if that's the case then Light will definitely get punished for his sins. |

| This is such a great episode.. very few episodes in anime or even cinema as a whole can match upto this episode.. the sound, editing, and what to say about writing.. and direction - the nuances of Light and L's expressions.. just wow. I wish Light had some heart in him in the final moment and didn't give them "I won" evil smile to L as he lay dying in his arms.. but it is also the smile that makes it all the more sensational.. just shows how in the madness to create "world full of kind people", he has lost his own humanity. The moment with towels and drying was such a heart-wrenching scene knowing what was to come next.. Rem.. poor Rem.. |

| Welp, L actually died, alright show’s over boys, time to pack up your bags lol. Jokes aside, damn what a shame it wasn’t a fluke this time, I had a feeling it might happen for real but I was thinking along the lines of “it’s episode 25, show would be boring without L so how could they kill him here?”, but they actually went and did it, the signs were there for the whole episode too so I saw it coming, but DAMMIT I miss my boy L already, RIP! I really don’t know how they’re gonna top L as a character honestly, even if someone else comes along to stop Light I don’t think they’ll be near as good, but hey I’m open to whatever comes next, I loved L but I don’t wanna shut out anything new just because he died and I’m kinda upset about it lol. Besides my sadness, I can’t deny the episode was well done, L’s moment with Light in the rain, the drying off scene (a little weird but I liked it lol), I really loved the final moments between L and Light, you could tell it was near the end, L was basically spelling it out lol, the man was a goddamn genius to the end, he even knew when his death was coming. And I’ll mention this too, I may not like that L died but he really did solve the Kira case, he caught Light, he caught Misa, he was even about to test the 13 days rule on the death note, he had it all figured out, it’s just he was put in situations where despite his deductions being 100% correct, he couldn’t win, a damn shame but we all know as viewers that L solved it all. Ngl tho, the Misa scenes were kinda cringe lol, don’t act like you aren’t some goober, I don’t care what kind of outfit you put on. And of course even with L dying in his arms, Light had a massive shit eating grin, I wanted to think he actually liked L in the end but I honestly don’t know, Light is pretty far gone at this point so he may not even know himself. Oh well, at least I get to see L’s sweet kicks in the OP to make myself feel better lol. Also, RIP Watari, bro was a real and badass one, and RIP Rem too I guess, she loved Misa and wanted to save her, Light is the true villain so I can’t really hate Rem for her actions. |
