It's very rare to me to drop any anime. But I had to do to this one.

Honestly, the entire anime it's not so bad (the prince is kinda creepy), but, just the fact the girl is been FORCED to marry the prince, and been kidnaped, it's enough for me as a woman. I know maybe this is historically based, but this is fantasy, come on, I want to see beautiful couples falling in love and no an abusive relationship.

It's impossible to root for this romance. She isn't heard, she isn't respected, she was forced to take harsh lessons since childhood to marry this spineless prince, and she can't have the slightest bit of free will because in the next scene, she's treated like a doll. It's hard to like something like that. If someone appeared to be her partner, I might continue, but since I know that's not going to happen...

My impression of the anime so far and after the first part of this episode: "Creepy stalker prince willing to do almost anything to keep the redhead he's got a lust on for, even if it means locking her up and waiting for Stockholm Syndrome to kick in. Well, do almost anything for her but respect her wishes." I'm out. Just...out.

In all seriousness, the issue with this show is NOT that it portrays shitty things. The issue is how all this shit is being romanticized af while her attempts to break free are more and more presented as silly-little-girl-acting-out-for-comic-relief.

The anime tries to be funny about some rather dark themes, such as forced marriage, ruining a woman's life for the sake of decorum, and depriving someone of any freedom in their life. But instead of being humorous, it makes the anime extremely bleak, especially when reflecting on the past. And knowing that the writer didn’t intend to make it an instructive story, I can’t help but criticize the choices they’re making for the male lead and everyone around the female lead.

This has gone from kinda cute to creepy stalkerish and trying to gaslight her. I don't think I even want to continue to see if it improves.

For Clarke's mother of Queen Laura to expect her son and Leticia to come back to the mansion, him forcing a kidnapping on Leticia to drag her back to the mansion, with all parties selling her outright, even Brianna wishing her getting her just desserts, it's clear that Leticia is way past the point of seeing Clarke as a man, yet he still doesn't want to give up on her,eve being downright creepy by forcing himself on her. Even the agreements beforehand to solidify their marriage, by all means possible, Leticia has only one solid answer for him, but Clarke just refuses to admit defeat, thereby locking her in detention in the royal mansion.

The copious amounts of nightmare fuel that Leticia had against Clarke, subjugated by the amount of welfare that is given to her to ensure her freedom, sike...it just went all nuke in an instant. Even the young servant in service to Leticia, Maria, doesn't let up and even brushes for Clarke to have his alone time with her, making sure that his words of grace reach her heart regardless.

The very definition of Stockholm Syndrome is clearly Clarke in action against whatever Leticia could retaliate against, and whatever she's doing, is pulling them closer rather than further. What an odd "couple"...

i've never given an anime a straight up 1/10 before. it looked cute from the premise but i didn't expect it to be so bad. she gets married off and endures years of harsh lessons against her will, then when she finally gets her freedom back, the prince essentially kidnaps her and holds her captive to marry her? literally nobody cares about her either, not her family, any of the servants, nobody. she routinely tries to escape, even going as far as to break a window with a whole table to leave. it's actually really impressive how a show manages to be so shallow while making me so angry and sick for fmc

the worst part of all is how much they romanticize it all, like its supposed to be cute or something. i might've stuck around if it weren't for that fact, but it's obvious that she'll fall in love with him by the end. the art isn't all that, the plot is trash, the male mc is disgusting and creepy, genuinely this is the biggest waste of animation budget and airtime i've ever seen in a while. the only reason its not a 0 is because the fmc is cute.. the scenes of her going around her village and feeling so happy and loved were heartwarming :(

If I was Lettie at this point I would have started either assaulting the maids, destroying property or straight up physically scarring myself or trying to kill the prince.

Clarke is fcking annoying, if they try to make him into a likable character after all the shit he pulled, and the show just becomes a normal romance snore-fest that'd be awful. Hope he remains a prick and Leticia doesn't fall for him, but I don't really see that happening sadly with no other potential interest introduced. So at this point the best I can hope for is Leticia getting the freedom she deserves.
