| Apparently TV recorders exist since the mid 50's, and I assume them to be pretty popular in Japan. I mean, you're watching something called "LATE-NIGHT anime", so it's to be expected, no? This format became popular in the second half of the 90's due to complains about Evangelion and the OVA format becoming late-night anime instead. |

| I have noticed quite a few shows airing very late. It does not impact me, since I am not watching on TV, but I did find it a bit odd. |

| I mean being in the US it works out for me. Time difference means 3am for you is 1PM for me so I can go about my day and by the time I'm ready to relax with some shows all the new episodes have dropped midday on streaming services. Although in the case of One Piece it airs at 9:30am on a Sunday and won't start airing at night until April 2025 because they announced To Be Hero X will be taking the timeslot. In that case waking up before 9:30am on a Sunday to catch a show sounds much worse than staying up until 11:15pm if the intent is to watch it live. |

| @Catalano I'm sure you're better than me because I couldn't do that, but isn't that assuming OP sleeps for more than 5 hours? He probably does, or maybe he sleeps for less than 5 hours depending on his schedule. Like, sleep at 11 night, wake up 2 in the morning. |
