It isnt anti-consumer, i agree that It was kinda lame as a finale, but if the schedule Is that then there Is nothing you can do, they still delivered high-quality content, and you are One of the user that Always make baits, so It wouldnt be strange if this also Is bait.

It’s really shows how little people know about the industry when a show takes the steps to both be polished and not overwork its team and this is the response. Mappa has fucked everyone’s perception of the production process in the worst possible way.

Also split the first 90 minute episode up and you’ve got 4 episodes they already gave basically a full seasonal core of the show. They gave us an early release of a few episodes basically.

well he Is half right, they had plenty of time to make a much Better schedule, or Just started with the voice acting and animation earlier, It could also be Just to boost the Sales on figures and other stuff

@rohan121 It's better to take a break a quarter into the season then to have another blue lock season 2 situation & there's way too much content in arc 5 & 6 for 12 episodes, it could've easily been 60 episodes total without as much cut content and slower pacing & inclusion of side/ex stories.

Still not an "anti-consumer" decision though, OP is completely delusional lol - the studio has been facing nonstop production issues - their initial plan was to release all 16 episodes in fall of 2023.

If there is anyone to blame at all it is John Kadokawa giving a massive action-packed series like Re:Zero to a studio that can barely manage to produce a season every 4 years because, surprise, they're not a studio specializing in action.

Lol anti consumer, because they decided to release in a different format than normal, and it's not like anime didn't release shows in 6-8 episode batches back in the day either.

You have literally hundreds of other shows you could watch, if you don't like it stop watching seasonals then. I literally have stopped doing that and focused on older stuff, because I want more complete shows. Production issues like this are found everywhere, not only in anime but in other animation industries. Delays are common in all media. Getting upset that they aren't releasing right now, is not you standing up for consumers, it's just entitled and childish.

At best you could say that, anime studios need to be more upfront with their episode counts and sure, fair enough, though that is about it.

Most studios work on multiple things at once. It can take years of pre production for a show to come out you can’t expect them to drop everything and focus on the one thing you care about because you’re impatient. I’d rather wait a bit and have it be better over rushed animation and or overworked employees.

Also as I said we already basically got 12 episodes worth of content if they had released it differently and gotten to 12 20 minute episodes would you have even been bitching about it?

@rohan121 i agree. on the surface level, this doesnt even make sense. from the previews released months before the season, we had the general impression that they were very ahead on production. however, this kinda supports a theory that a lot of the community has that season 3 is gonna be much more than 16 episodes and theres gonna be a suprise announcement after the end of the second part in March/April.

also yea people say "you gotta read the manga, its better than the anime" for a lot of shows, but it is 100x more so in the case of light novels. like a full Re Zero / Mushoku Tensei experience requires you to deep dive into the light novels, extra volumes, web novel, and all the additional content in order to understand everything. Only less complicated light novel series like 86 can have a truly comprehensive and full adaptation. There is just so much Re Zero that can never be animated and it makes me sad

@Fishb0i Kinda agree :/ Season 1 was so full of adventure. Then season 2 just stayed in one place forever and had sooo much repetition. Now season 3 is all about one town.

Please turn your brain on, ep1 was basically 4 episodes so they already gave you a full cour. I see nobody complaining when shows like konosuba get only 10 episodes.
2.- "wE hAvE tO wAiT 3 MoNthZ?" Nope, only 2 and a half and only because they made 4 episodes in 1 with episode 1. If they didn't it would be just 2 months.
3.- Not every studio is gonna abuse their animators like MAPPA does, and you can't ask for it just because "I dOn'T wAnNa wAiT" just Grow up.
4.- Whether you consider it a "MID-SEASON FINALE" or not, i don't care about that debate. These episodes are CLEARLY preparation for the rest of the arc, and those will be preparation for the next arc.
You can't be mad just because they didn't end the settup portion of the arc on a high note, that's not the point of the SETTUP... I mean the other 8 episodes are gonna be considered as the "Counter-Attack arc"

This is very likely incorrect. In the promotional material there were images of characters who do not appear in the current arc so we probably won’t have to wait too long for the next part of the series.
