I didn't find the ending particularly good or bad but i've got a few issues with it.

First of all Aqua's plan made no sense. For me the whole suicide thing is simply because Aqua has self-destructive tendencies (Hence why he refuses everybody's help). Honestly i would've prefered if the story adressed it that way rather than "saving Ruby's life AND career even if it's gonna break her soul at the expense of my life that she cherishes more than anything else" which sounds dumb and egocentric ESPECIALLY when the story acknowledges that Aqua could've done things differently.

Hikaru sucks as a villain. He is just terrible at the job, he just feels uninspired and his aura feels forced. I still don't understand what kind of villain Aka wanted to make with him. And Nino is even worse.

We've got a conclusion on Ruby's character but Kana and Akane get the short end of the stick again because their characters ended up entirely revolving around Aqua without any personal goals that they've got to achieve. Kana follows the exact same grief as Ruby but when Ruby gets better we understand what she wants to do with her life unlike Kana and by extension Akane (which moved the plot in a convenient way for far too long without having personal goals either).

I still respect the author for killing the MC in an unsatisfying way (because let's be honest : the happy ending route doesn't fit Aqua at all, he has barely done anything to get it) and Ruby's character was respected, i actually like the end of her character arc. The ending is not as bad as some people say, that being said Oshi no ko is full of missed opportunities (+ some telenovelas dialogues are just awful)

The only good thing that Aka did these last few weeks is forcing Mihoyo to have a rerun of Ai Hoshino's banner...

& atleast...

I can thank him for that...

@Kokol07 Then wouldn't an ending where those closest to him help him find new purpose sound more satisfying than
. Not to mention at then end of the theater arc where he thought his target had already died he seemed happier, noticeably so to other characters to the point that Akane did not want to correct him and send him down the spiral again. So him having more support from everyone around him after the end could 100% lead to him finding a new life
. The story could easily have been maneuvered to accommodate him finding new purpose compared to the rushed ending we got that feels out of character and illogical at times.
@DrChewy I don't know, depending on how it would be shown, if it wa shown more in depth etc. then it would be a good ending. But the way it is now I'm satisfied, it's not a bad ending, sure some people would want a different ending but this one is fine.

Ideally i would love to see a side story where Aqua didn't sacrefice himself.

PS. I'm down to hear any opinions wheter they agree with me or not, since I am not all-knowing and could have missed sth.

I feel bad for aqua. I feel bad for akane. I feel bad for ruby. I feel bad for kana.... I didn't enjoy the ending since it just made everything tragic without properly building up the narrative. But who knows maybe the anime will improve on it. I didn't liked how it ended but I'll still keep watching the anime whenever it comes out. It was a fun ride while it lasted I suppose

Looks like the author dropped another L. I'm so out of the loop these days I didn't know this crap had finally ended.
