What do you use your home PC and gadgets for and for how long? Of course, taking into account the change of equipment to newer ones. Has anything changed over time? For example, have you started using a computer instead of a TV, or tablets and phones instead of a desktop computer? Are you a person for whom a computer is a huge multimedia entertainment system, or do you belong to the type of person for whom a computer is primarily a means of work or communication? For example, I never thought that for several years I would not be repairing the TV in my room, simply using official Internet television services to watch this or that TV channel (I have always dreamed of buying a smart TV, but now I simply have neither the desire nor the extra money).

Given I hardly use my phone for anything, I use this Dell Latitude 7480 for just about everything. Anime watching, torrenting, YouTube, machine learning stuff (Slow as sin without a proper GPU, but good enough for Whisper, which means decent subtitles for non-English YouTube content :D), and of course MAL. I don't even own a TV, since I haven't used a game console in a good while now. Gotta pinch those pennies!

Also I said it before and will say it again, if you're short on cash and need a "good" laptop stat, these 7480's go for around $200 USD on Amazon (And other retailers) all the time. They're great as a stopgap machine that doesn't suck. I guess too many people see that it's Skylake, and think "Ew, that's like a thousand-year-old architecture." and get rid of them. But if people can still get on with literal first generation Arrandale and Clarkdale i7 (🤮Pre-Sandy Bridge🤮) powered Thinkpads, then this is is at least still viable for most people.

I use my laptop hardly ever as it's ancient and slow.
I mainly just move videos and pics from my other devices to store them on flash drives.
Also to resize/edit pics which I use on MAL.

To consume multimedia and use the internet on a sufficiently large screen with a keyboard and mouse.

Pretty much any task that requires an internet connection to accomplish. I still like watching movies/TV shows on my TV though, way more comfortable sitting on a couch than an office deck chair. I don't have a laptop or tablet, never felt the need for one tbh, mainly use my phone for its original purpose, actually calling people lmao.

I use a laptop and have an external monitor. I use my phone for the usual (calls/texts, listening to music, direction). As for my computer, I use it daily, often, and for all manner of things, especially browsing the web and watching videos.

My PC is on 24/7 (electronic devices suffer the most during startup, so if you want them to work flawlessly forever you simply never shut them down).
- work
- hentai
- anime
- games on emulators
- owning libtards
- did I already mention jerking off?

Desktop Windows 7 drive for retro gaming

@RobertBobert If a single device can allow me to do all this, might as well use it to its full extent.

I use my PC from waking up till sleeping.
Gym break excluded, and sometimes I'm on my phone instead.

My only computer is a ThinkPad laptop provided by work, used primarily for work (duh) and browsing MAL since it's more convenient than on mobile. For pretty much everything else, I do it on my iPad or phone. I've yet to get a newer TV in years and will probably only consider it if the the next Nintendo Switch can do 4k.

I use multiple devices for different things:

1) main computer with dual screens on a screen holder mostly for gaming, reading and writing on MAL, general chatting and if I need to work on something

2) private laptop hooked on TV via HDMI for Anime watching, reading Visual Novels or generally watching news from online media library or satire shows

3) company laptop on a docking station that is also connected to my dual screens for work

4) my main phone for Whatsapp/official chat communication (it's mostly only other people from my family who write to me there, though), for two-factor authentications and to generally browse for stuff if I'm elsewhere or not in my room

5) my secondary phone for researching cute/hot girls/women and as an additional alarm clock

6) my tablet for scrolling through TikTok videos mostly, for playing some crossword puzzle game, for some browsing and for reading some small (classic) books
