| Hmmm in the current landscape, media as a whole has been categorized to the point where creative freedom can be extremely limiting, or rather breaking down tropes is done in a lot more nuanced ways. This might be a cop-out answer, but Dorohedoro and its continued influence on shows with the Ironclad will to continue their "wacky batshit crazy" setting like Chainsaw Man or Dandadan could be seen as an amalgamation of various notions to create something new lol. For actual anime directors, prominent examples could be Yuuasa or Shinbo who paved their own path through visual storytelling. |

Literally the exact same characters except for some exceptions, very similar character death shock value (not saying that’s bad), same premise of character merging with a demon/devil and acquiring its powers and then being forced to join a devil/apparition slaying organization. Even kishibe and nanami had the same VA cuz they were so similar lol |
