| TBH starting this volume is when things get really GOOD, there is more character development given for the core characters, and you start to understand the MC's situation more, it makes him more relatable, vulnerable and a character you just want to keep following and see his development hopefully to a proper conclusion, and how Yuki fits in all of this and how both feel about it, complicates things, adding drama I do like. And it is because you start to see Yuki's kind nature, wanting to shelter her brother, very understanding of his situation, not blaming him, trying to be there for him... that it then hurts when she hits with the sneak attack on the later half, she is truly a devil, I cant wait for her for it, but I felt the punch from her "betrayal" hard, she is really in this to achieve her goal and will steamroll Alisa if she doesn't get her shit together. It all builds up some wholesomely with Masachika being sick, Yuki sending Alisa his way, and you feel like, this sister loves him romantically, but knows what he wants and is such a nice wingman, and then to spice up the romcom antics she sends Ayano in, so you like, "GO YUKI!!", such a great sister right? It hurts to read when things start to get serious and you sense something WRONG. It was a fantastic read till the end, the writer sold the drama very well, and the showdown between Yuki and Alya & Masachika was FIRE. This is probably going to be the last episode of season 1 (they would not dare to end it at the cliffhanger of Vol. 4 lol), very strong finale and cerebral fight, easily surpassing Vol. 02, Yuki really feels like the final boss of this series lol, she is a bundle of surprises, you soften to her quite quickly and then she betrays your expectations and truly shows how mischievous she is, she will bite HARD if given the chance, but this time she got her brother too fired up and took a chunk bigger than she could handle EPIC finale. I loved to see how Masachika countered his sister's goals, whereas she promised she would be able to do everything else, he was smart and resourceful, understanding both Nonoa and Sayaka have the potential to together bring a lot more, addressing the problems of the council being short on staff, and Alisa seems like she will come through and be able to attract people to her, just like she did with Masachika. The fight for the council and Alisa seems to truly start now, and you see it take shape, what she has to do to get there, and she still lacks, the potential she has to be a leader. On more light-hearted stuff, this volume despite being this tense, still had a great couple of romcom scenes, the hypnosis scene was funny and will definitely provide great fanservice material for the anime. Masachika is truly OP with his skills, but because he has not put an effort, things dont magically happen, when he puts his mind to it you see tremendous potential, but due to his childhood, it all left him twisted inside, and Alisa is the motivation that will get him to make usage of his talents, but this is well executed, and you feel he is not invincible. It is good to see he was able to improve his grades and focus more, due to Alisa's bet, but he still lost, which is fine because having seen her nature, it still feels like a win even when he loses to Alisa, the relationship is too ADORABLE, and him getting a bit embarrassed and then Alisa telling him his own line, "Keep your chin up", it felt just right. This volume ends so well with this, their relationship slowly developed to the point that now she can be very understanding, be there for him like this, rather than play with him like she sometimes does, when his defenses fell here, she understood his feelings and embarrassment, and reward his courage to propose that, she breaks out of her tsundere trope, and in a very cool, kind and warm way embraces his feelings~~ The anime will most likely end here, and it will be a perfect way to end on a strong note. By far the most wholesome ending, there are some volume conclusions ahead that are either cliffhangers or end in genuine playfulness and banter between both that soothe your heart, but the conclusion of this volume felt so bright, warm, and beautiful, it is subtle but Alya really has grown a TON, wonderfull~~ Mod Edit: Modified title for clarity and/or easier searching. |

Oh my lord dude, you wrote 2 entire essays in a few minutes. How much time do you fucking have?
| @mrjdko For long LN analyses I always keep my stuff in txt files that I write slowly (usually as I finish stuff), and then when I have a bunch together, compile and use corrector on all, it is less effort than be posting each on different days after reading each. Besides I have been reading this almost non stop, still have to write for volume 6, but that is my favorite, so might be the longest, just finished it last night after reading it almost till 06 00 am, GOOD SHIT. This is a series that deserves long analyzes, there is a lot to love here, and I also like to keep this around so I can reread later and get a brief idea of what I felt about the volume, I m too lazy to do this for most of the things I read, but Roshidere quickly found a spot in my heart so it deserves this much at least. AND people are not creating threads and discussing it enough here, SAD. |

This volume ends so well with this, their relationship slowly developed to the point that now she can be very understanding, be there for him like this, rather than play with him like she sometimes does, when his defenses fell here, she understood his feelings and embarrassment, and reward his courage to propose that, she breaks out of her tsundere trope, and in a very cool, kind and warm way embraces his feelings~~
The anime will most likely end here, and it will be a perfect way to end on a strong note.
By far the most wholesome ending, there are some volume conclusions ahead that are either cliffhangers or end in genuine playfulness and banter between both that soothe your heart, but the conclusion of this volume felt so bright, warm, and beautiful, it is subtle but Alya really has grown a TON, wonderfull~~
Yes episodes 8-12 confirmed to be volume 3.
However they announced a record of sales hours ago so a season 2 is more than expected at this point
| @DragyG I would prefer if this was planned to be a 2 cour, which meant part 2 was already in plans and production, would make it come faster, but such a thing is rare for romcoms. |

Well whatever is good to me but I can't help feeling cutting before the end of volume 4 will make the reveal at the park kinda weird if it's episode 4 of season 2 (or second cour). A solution would be to do what they did for Spy kyoushitsu at the end of season 1 by putting a scene of season 2 at the end of last episode but even then I don't see how the park scene would be natural after the speech in volume 3. |

| @DragyG Regarding that, I wanted to have a discussion. Do you think Doga Kobo will adapt all four volumes in 12 episodes? |

| @DragyG I havent checked the anime yet, outside seeing highlight videos and people talking about it, but I keep hearing they are changing the order of some stuff and LN readers seem happy with that, for those that are watching, thus they might be something for what you are saying as well. I would loathe it, if I was an anime only and it ended at volume 4 for S1, and it would be fine it was episode 4 of S2. Now the last part of volume 3 being the last episode of S1 will probably make the score of the anime bump itself even higher, and more people will check out the LN itself, it is just the perfect way to end S1 as I said above, you feel so good after finishing volume 3. Even volume 6 doesn't conclusion wouldn't work as well to be a stopping point for a season, since that scene continues on volume 7 (which is a good thing the scene doesn't end just there, and for the next volume just ignoring it and starting on the next day or something). |

Well to me using the turning points would just be perfect so end of 4th and 8th for S1 and S2. I mean the speech scene and what follows on the street is indeed one of my favorite in Roshidere (well maybe Alya using the price she got by beating Masachika in volume 3 at the end of volume 8 gave me heavy chills too) and it will definitely me as much pleasure for animes only the first time they will see it than it was for us but what does that scene build ? What question will anime onlies desire an answer for and so go to buy the novels after watching that scene? "Will Alya win the elections?"? If that's the one they are aiming at they could stop kinda everywhere in the LN as their is still no answer to it (Even though I would be surprised if she were to win at the end by seeing how everything is going atm). "Will Alya know Masachika speaks Russian?"? The answer is made out clear that Alya knows Masachika might be learning some because he told her to look forward in Russian while she was on stage. (If someone didn't read volumes 4 - 8 and is reading this post don't read behind the spoiler tag) Using the reveal that Masha is Masachika's childhood friend would imply all the questions treated untill volume 8 such as "Will Masachika fall for Masha and give up on Alya?" "Why did Masachika forget his childhood friend was Masha?" "Now that Masachika knows it. Is Masha going to make moves on him?" "What will happen to the promise Masha made to Masachika to never make shadows to her sister be it by making herself look ridiculous or incompetent?" "Does Yuki knows it and will try to use Masha to make Alya and Masachika disbands and so win by lack of opponent?" That turning point does give shape to Masachika's inner conflict arc lasting to end of volume 6 when he goes on stage or even 8 when he doesn't know what to do between be there for Alya his love and sister in arm or leave the party to be by his sister and the Suou household about to break again making Yuki's suffering and efforts pointless. The Masha reveals while risky because one could thing Roshidere is turning into a triangular rom-com is exactly what made the success of the second part and not using it to sell both the 4.5 - 8 volumes and the second season (cuz I see no world in which Roshidere doesn't get one) ending on that cliffhanger of that november night would be a commercial mistake to me. |

I would also add that they know from the LN cut (volume 4 in April, 4.5 in July and 5 in December 2022) that having a break after the end of volume 4 is a low risk bet on the fact people will keep following the series since it's already been showed we could wait 8 months to know what comes next without dropping. They have 0 info about how a break after volume 3 will be perceived. |

| @DragyG Aww. Thanks for sharing. But here's the catch. One of the key visuals featured the beach scene. Which implies that V4 might be adapted. But the Kenzaki Vacation Arc starts off at Chapter 4 so if that were to happen, it'd be rushed to oblivion. |

| @DragyG You have a point there, and I want to see volume 4 adapted ASAP, but I don't want the source material rushed, that is what matters the most, and volume 3 will be a better finale in terms of leaving people happy but still wanting for more, it would be a more positive way than using a cliffhanger like volume's 4. When they already spent 4 episodes for volume 1, which is the least interesting alongside volume 2, for me, I couldn't imagine them being insane to now rush till volume 4 with 1/3 of the episodes gone, 2/3 left, adapt 3x more volumes, what a waste it would be. Hopefully, any teases means they plan to release something at the end of episode 12 to tease for a sequel with the beach volume. |
