Translation of post by Aria: When I searched why there was a comet in the final episode of "Land of the Lustrous," I found out that the Pons-Brooks comet, which has a beautiful mint color similar to Phosphophyllite, can be observed this year for the first time in about 70 years (perihelion is in April 2024). It seems that Ichikawa-sensei also ended the series as planned to coincide with this.
It's just a personal speculation of what would be nice if it were true. Only Ichikawa-sensei knows the truth.
It seems that this comet will approach Earth around June of the same year according to predictions, so I wonder if they featured the observation of the Phosphophyllite comet in the June 2024 issue of the magazine.
