I'm trying to find a (preferably action based) Isekai that's not harem or ecchi (I'm fine with romance just please, not harem.)

Preferably with either an OP protagonist or someone who uses their knowledge of the world they came from to alter/manage their new one
(such as cain in "Tensei Kizoku no Isekai Boukenroku" or Touya in "In Another World with My Smartphone" but without the harem aspects) or an OP protagonist works just as well (such as Haru from "The Reincarnation Of The Strongest Exorcist In Another World" or Ard from "the greatest demon lord is reborn as a typical nobody" without the harem aspects, or even Yuji Sano from "My Isekai Life")

I'd really prefer an Isekai where the protag goes into another world or maybe like a video game or movie world, but If possible I'd like to avoid generic reincarnation anime's.

---

here are some Isekais that I enjoyed

- Chronicles of an Aristocrat Reborn in Another World
MC had an understanding of what was going on and was able to use it to manage himself in the new world. (It'd be better if it didn't have the whole harem thing) and I like how the protagonist was able to grow up in the world, learning about it instead of just suddenly appearing. I also like how there's a reasonable explanation of why he's so OP and a clear end goal of what he needs to do. As well as the mystery elements and people actually noticing his weird behavior and calling him out on it

- The Reincarnation Of The Strongest Exorcist In Another World
Mc was able to use the summoned from his last life, and instead of magically being gifted the magic of the world, he instead is able to use his skills to fake it and prove himself to be powerful with no outside help. I also like how he acknowledges that being the best isn't the goal.

- Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody
even though it's largely harem based, I really like the world building with the dwarves and giants and how MC ends up fighting super strong beasts. I really just like the fighting scenes in the manga

- Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest
this one started off super promising with the whole betrayal and dungeon fighting, alongside MC's fight to survive, gaining abilities but it lost me when it became almost entirely harem based by halfway through the first season.

- My Isekai Life
I watched this one a while back and enjoyed it, though i can't remember a whole bunch of it now. However, I do like how he uses his abilities as a tamer to exceed the standard ideals of what they can do.

- The greatest demon lord reborn as a typical nobody
I like the MC's reasoning on this and how the backstory builds up over the episodes. I also appreciate how the anime shows him (even if only briefly) as a child so you can see a little of how he developed into his new environment

- In Another World With My Smartphone
Honestly, the only thing I like about this one is how the MC was able to use his phone in the ways he did. It was creative. other than that, it was way too harem for me.

- Sword Art Online
I liked how the character bond over time and build a team, as well as how OP Kirito is. (jesus-kun fr)

- That one time I was reincarnated as a slime
currently watching this one, really liking just the characters atp

-----

Here's some other anime's that I enjoyed that aren't necessarily Isekai

- Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon
- Dr. Stone
- No game no life
- The Devil is a part timer
- Inuyasha

There are a few I'm watching after That time i got reincarnated as a slime, such as "The Misfit of Demon King Academy" and "Am I Actually the Strongest?" so I'm in no rush to receive an answer.

thank you for your help in advance.

I wouldn't call it action based, but she uses her knowledge to start a business on her quest to make books. Highly recommend.

Not a harem, but the MC isn't OP. Uses a bit of game logic. A little romance(?)
https://myanimelist.net/anime/14765/Ixion_Saga_DT

Not a harem, multiple MCs who are somewhat OP. Historical badass characters use knowledge from Earth in a fantasy world. No romance.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/31339/Drifters

Not a harem. MC is kinda 'op' because he's a very good chef from Earth. Uses earth's food to impress many fantasy people/creatures. No romance (for MC.)
https://myanimelist.net/anime/34012/Isekai_Shokudou

Not a harem. MC becomes more and more OP. Fairly high quality action. No influence from Earth. No romance.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/49891/Tensei_shitara_Ken_deshita

No harem(?), MC has a primarily love interest (I think.) MC is easily OP. Uses his imagination to use magic better. Yes romance.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/36407/Kenja_no_Mago

Probably not a harem (I don't remember.) MC is OP. He uses mystical shinto powers from ancient Japan in a generic fantasy world, pretty nice. Some romance but one sided, I think the MC doesn't care for romance (acts a bit like an adult, like he should)
https://myanimelist.net/anime/50932/Saikyou_Onmyouji_no_Isekai_Tenseiki

Mostly no harem. There is a single love interest. The show is somewhat echii, like 40-60%. MC is not OP, but he is a 'jack of all trades but master of none.' Basically, he is a skillful handy man who is very useful in dungeons. Yes romance.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/50854/Benriya_Saitou-san_Isekai_ni_Iku

Not a harem. MC becomes OP. He has two friends who also get reincarnated from Earth, they don't use their knowledge but instead acclimate themselves to the other world. A tiny bit of romance. (Currently airing)
https://myanimelist.net/anime/49613/Chiyu_Mahou_no_Machigatta_Tsukaikata

Mostly not a harem. MC is easily OP. He is really cautious.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/38659/Shinchou_Yuusha__Kono_Yuusha_ga_Ore_Tueee_Kuse_ni_Shinchou_Sugiru

Not a harem (I think). MC is easily OP. Inside the world of a game she played. No romance.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/40974/Kuma_Kuma_Kuma_Bear

Generally not a harem. One MC is OP, the other is not so OP. There is also a side character like Kirito, but better than Kirito. Stuff from Earth is occasionally mentioned. Yes romance and a bit echii. (IMO really funny)
https://myanimelist.net/anime/48997/Fantasy_Bishoujo_Juniku_Ojisan_to

Technically not a harem, but might feel like one. MC is OP. MC is in his player body, using skills from a MMORPG he played. Some romance, maybe a tiny bit echii.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/48760/Gaikotsu_Kishi-sama_Tadaima_Isekai_e_Odekakechuu

Not a harem. MC is OP. Old school fantasy, there is barely any mention or inspiration from Earth, but the MC's fundamental personality is influenced from his past life as a shut-in. No romance. (Season 2 has a bit of romance).
https://myanimelist.net/anime/48761/Saihate_no_Paladin

Not a harem. MC is mostly OP. MC likes pastries a lot and was a professional at making them, so he sometimes makes pastries using his past knowledge about them in another world. Some romance.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/52611/Okashi_na_Tensei

(I think this show is underrated but it's not exactly what you're looking for.)
Not a harem. MC is not OP, but he is smart and uses common sense from Earth (but that doesn't always work in the fantasy world.) Seems like echii but isn't very echii. It's mostly the dialogue which is echii. The dialogue is self aware. Yes romance.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/50583/Buta_no_Liver_wa_Kanetsu_Shiro

(This is not an Isekai but a VRMMORPG, but feels like isekai.)
Not a harem. MC grows OP over time. The show isn't very good but it's enjoyable if you can get into it. Some romance.

Parallel World Pharmacy (MC was a medical researcher who developed new drugs after losing his sister to illness. When he dies at the young age of 31 he finds himself in the body of a 10 year old in another world as the son of a family of medical practitioners and decides to use his knowledge from his last life to create better medical care that is more available to everyone, a.k.a not just nobles but commoners as well)

Queen With a Scalpel (Female MC dies as an evil Queen who is put to death by her husband then finds herself reborn in our world where she decides to be a better person and becomes a doctor then she dies in our world only to find herself back in her old one as her past self at 16 years old. She decides to end her engagement to the future king and become a doctor in her original world too to continue saving people)

Dead Mount Death Play (MC was necromancer who battled a 'hero' and uses a spell to send himself to another world via 'reincarnation' and carries over his necromancy abilities)

Ascendance of a Bookworm (Female MC was a bookworm who became a librarian who was crushed to death under bookshelves. She finds herself reincarnated in the body of a very ill little girl in a world where books aren't easily accessible for those not of noble status. She decides to try and create her own books to make them available to everyone)

Knight's & Magic (an otaku with an obsession for all things mech dies and finds himself reincarnated into a world of magic and mechs which is paradise for him)

Villainess Level 99 (Female MC finds herself reincarnated as the last boss villainess in an otome game she once played and decides to level up and avoid the flags that would make her become the last boss or flee the kingdom)

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear (Female MC was playing a game and finds herself literally transported into it in the most embarrassing costume imaginable... a bear suit. The problem is the suit makes it possible for her to survive in the game world as it makes her hard to kill and basically OP so she has to suck it up and put up with the stares and judgement if she wants to survive in the game that had suddenly became very real)

Reincarnated as a Sword (MC finds himself reincarnated as a sword. He decides that while he waits for someone to wield him he is going to get as strong as possible)

So I'm a Spider, So What? (Female MC was killed along with all her classmates in high school and while she doesn't know what happened to them she finds that SHE has reincarnated in something like a dungeon as a spider. She's going to do whatever she can to survive!)

Magic Knight Rayearth. The show is quite enjoyable, one of the female villains suffers from a 90's stereotype, but aside from that, and the transformation sequence, iirc the series is pretty clean. Mix of Mahou Shoujo, Isekai, and Mecha
Summertime days, passing gently
Sunlight, leading to an encounter;
Dreams that don't want to end
Continue onwards toward the next day
While she waits in the air.

Grimgar Fantasy and Ash as well as Log Horizon should fit the bill. Grimgar is more Isekai-adjacent than strictly.

@Khashishi recently finished the first season, thank you immensely for the recommendation! I really enjoyed it! planning to watch the second soon, do you know if the manga is better by a large enough factor to read instead of watch?

@Michael_Mika It's based on a light novel, not manga. I haven't read it.

Isekai, but with no harem........

The Vision of Escaflowne (This is old school)

Ascendance of a Bookworm (About a girl reborn in a world, and she wants to make books because she likes books.)

Saga of Tanya the Evil (A man reborn as a tiny girl in a world where Germany is at war with everyone. The tiny girl is a badass soldier.)
